sorry m8, if they want bragging rights, then they have them coz they have been champions 2 years in a row and we havent. simple as that. as for what happens off the park this is about how we manage our own business and if we cant even do that well enough then SDM and Bain are fair game. not doom and gloom at all, just common sense and what we should expect of the club. we are the people and we have an adminstration that is so far away from holding up the ideals of that they shouldnt be above criticism at all imo. what you are seeing here imo is a wee bit of overeaction, that happens when you care and disappointment in the name of rangers getting dragged through the mud yet again. both are understandable reactions and all this elitist "real rangers fans do this" arguement isnt right imo. You are right of course, in that they have bragging rights concerning the last two years. But in financial dealings I think you will find RFC above reproach in any dealings, transfer or otherwise. To listen to some of the guys on here Murray has been stealing from RFC right, left and centre. Bollocks obviously, but some dopes believe this shit. hope you are right m8. i am sure it will all blow over and we will be in the clear. just frustrated about the way in which our name has been attached to this, coz it will always be the case that the apology and the name clearing will never be enough. i dont think SDM has been stealing money at all from the gers :zzzz: that kinda arguement beggars belief to be honest, but i just want us to be the best off the park as well. would at least mean we are not losing two battles instead of the one. again though imo this can be fixed with simple stuff. make other parties sign a disclaimer and then we can sue their asses for dragging our names down as well if they are monkeying about.

we need a british spine to the side coz that is how you win the league in scotland. understanding the game and playing at the right tempo not being able to put the boot in when needed. that is something that non brit players seem less able to do so why not. well done walter for getting it right on the button again. add outstanding foreign talent to do the other stuff, but brit players for the spine.

A spokesman for Rangers said: "Rangers football club was asked to co-operate with a police investigation and have done so, extending every co-operation to police. We have been requested by police not to comment further while the investigation is on-going." Think before posting Whats the point in trying to add fuel to the fire by posting what you think are possible reasons when in all honesty you don't have the slightest clue? i thought that is what messageboards were for :harhar:

Correct ayeready I couldn't agree more.. ..I would suggest what we stand for is something we should be eminently proud of. But I would hope that we go much further than just appearances...I would hope the ethical and moral identity of the club...would be something we could also be eminently proud of...they way we conduct ourselves likewise. yes agreed the moral side is so important. our history means it is well grounded in protestantism and there is nothing we need to be ashamed of in that coz it is a part of our history. nor should we abandon it. doesnt mean we have to fit into the "bigot" category that the mhedia likes to point us in. if we are conducting ourselves in a good way, strong in morals and ethics then they wont have anything to say about bigotry.

i dont think this is a contest. of course they will be good, they are the champions after all but there is something about the strength of our mid that will make it very difficult for any team to get through. brown is a good signing for them but they payed too much for him. the central section looks dead strong with bazza, thommo and hemdani in there for starters. that is strength in depth, skill and a midfield comfortable going forward and defending. we are gonna win that battle no probs.

we are the people and always will be the people, following the most successful club in the world. great post from d'art, you are becoming my fave poster. you need to release a book. my issue is all to do with PR. sure we all hate it but sadly off the pitch is now as important as on the pitch. teams who dont win things can make millions now coz they know how to manage this and this is where the club has to be. football has moved on, have we? i dunno if we can say we have. theres nothing that says we give up our identity as the quintessentially british club (love that) and at the same time allow the negative things about that are in the mhedia to effect the club. that is what PR is for to allow us to keep our identity and at the same time compete with other clubs who might want to water down their own identities or apologise. most successful club on the pitch, why cant we be the most successful off it?

Who says we haven't been above board in all dealings?? A club can deal with us and we do everything above board. They don't and we have to assist the police with information ascertaining to this. Just because we are being asked to co-operate doesn't mean we have done soemthing wrong. Haven't you ever been questioned by police about anything. Doesn't mean you done something, but you might know or have something that can help in their investigation fair points, as were eric caldow's and poetry in blue. prolly a bit of overreaction on my part as well coz of the amount of negative press we get of late. my big problem is the fact that we seem to be attached to any form of suspected dodgy dealing that needs investigation at all. surely we need to be looking at insisting that all parties we deal with are above reproach? i think you can get caught out with this sort of thing once in a while but why would we need to be raided if we werent being fully cooperative with the authorities? add to this is the overall perception when it comes to other clubs dealing with us and the issue of the brand being tarnished coz of this. all this uncertainty should be dealt with fast by SDM and whether we like it or not the reality is that we are seen to be involved in a dodgy deal. not a good thing for the club at all, even when proven inncocent. I think the use of the word raided part will be journalistic sensationalism, police would require warrants to enter any site to gather information and take it away with them so if charges are made by any party it can be used in a court of law. As for SDM, in this situation his hands will be tied as nothing can be done by Rangers until the investigation has run its course, for better or worse, and yes irrespective of the outcome of this investigation, unfortunately mud will stick to a certain degree and it will probably tarnish Rangers even if it is proven beyond a doubt that Rangers themselves did nothing wrong. that last bit there is my big problem. we cant trust the mhedia not to take gr8 joy in this and turn the screw. we all know they are like that and we all know that whether we like it or not, just or not, there is a secondary battle here that the mhanks have stolen a march on us, ie. in the mhedia and in the public perception of the club. i am not one for worrying what they do but it does piss me off when this starts to affect our bottom line in terms of getting transfers or in terms of reputation with uefa. these are things we have to worry about and are the job of SDM and Bain. we gotta have a good way of doing PR and not look like a bunch of amateurs at every turn. agreed SDM wont be able to say anything now but we should be 10 steps ahead of these things. simple things like getting clubs we deal with to sign disclosures that all parties are above board. then this type of thing would not get to this level where the mhedia can even write about "raids"
