  1. Were you saying this when we were going for the quadruple ? I couldn't complain when we were going for the quadruple but the standard of play was still extremely poor and I didn't get anywhere near as excited about watching that team as I should have. Don't you remember home to Sporting, Fiorentina, Panathanikos - we were shit and extremely lucky against Werder Bremen, it was totally uninspiring football and everyone knew it! If we had improved our team this year with more inspiring players you couldn't complain but it aint happened!
  2. Good call, brilliant manager who would jump at the chance of club management
  3. Right - Walter has spent 9 million so far this season and yet we still have to play dailly, broadfoot, mcculloch and others and then Velicka comes on! This team is appalling, the signs were there all of last season even with the run in europe as our style of play is dull & boring. Walter has had the whole of the close season to sort out 1 or 2 creative players yet we end up with 3 average strikers adding to our ever increasing list of average strikers! Fucking hell he could have paid £6.5 million for 1 class striker rather than 3 average ones, I am so fucking miffed with this manager - I am sure that he will carry on and win the league and perform domestically but our team will never move forward in terms of style of play or increase our status abroad as a forward thinking modern team. We will carry on scraping by beating the likes of Kilmarnock home and away and lumping high balls up to Mculloch as an attacking midfielder, fuck me the tactics would be appalling if this was a team from the 70's but were in a new century now! I have to say that Murray is mainly to blame for his terrible manager choices, his knee jerk reaction from the Paul LeGuen disaster was to appoint Walter again! His record in Europe from his first stint was a joke and a night like tonight was on the cards as soon as he came back. I think we need someone new upstairs who isn't afraid to pick exciting managers who want teams playing exciting football, Smith & Murray have taken us back to the dark ages of football!
  4. I liked the 2 players for FC Zeta - Cetkovic & Stepjanovic. They seemed to go past Rangers players with ease and got Hutton sent off. Probably get them cheap as well... although Buffel can create!
  5. Never fancied Naismith anyway, glad it worked out the way it did...
  6. Thats my fear 2, everyone seems quite confident but I reckon Red Star will attack us like we should have done 2nite! Hopefully we carry a bit of luck..
  7. Anyway I aint complaining about our record just the fact that it pretty basic football for guys that are talented and capable of playing a more stylish game and that Walter is far too cautious!
  8. Couldnt agree more, its not about the style, at the end of the day a 1-0 will go down in the score books not how we played. Of course its nice if we play well too, but the score is important for now! Yeah but there int a rule that says you cant play attractive football and win! Biggest cop out saying that you would rather win etc.. Chelsea play attractive football and win, they aint boring and they keep the ball on the ground. Did anyone actually read the post?
  9. I don't know about anyone else but watching Rangers this year is excruciating! Long balls and knock downs seems to be the way ahead for Rangers this season, and after watching tonights performance I can't see it getting any better. Not picking on Lee McCulloch but it's too easy for defenders & midfielders to knock a high one to him and hope he knocks it on to someone. Whats wrong with passing it forward - especially with 5 midfielders? We need a wee bit of creativity and the big fella can't provide that - if you are going to play him, make him a second striker. Every game so far has gone the same way - nothing happens going forward until McCulloch is moved from right midfield and a creative player i.e. Novo replaces him. I know we are strong in defense but watching Rangers is piss poor and really frustrating. I honestly think that Walter is far too negative and would rather not lose a goal than entertain the fans. Playing the way we did tonight at home was awful and we were lucky to get away with it (another long ball!) Red Star were poor and we should have players on the park who can open them up, but it being safe rather than sorry for Walter....
