  1. FFS, what is the point of having Rory Loy on the bench if he doesn't get on in this situation? No wonder he cannot wait to get the fuck out of Ibrox!
  2. Which merged with McGeady & Agathe quality crossing is useless! Pish player!
  3. Moutaouakil is probably binned because he is utter pish! Played well earlier in the season, but appears to be an utter bombscare!
  4. Motherwell's centre half pairing against Hearts on Saturday had a combined age of 35 (Saunders 17 & Hutchison 18) - younger than Davie! They won 1-0 as well!
  5. I didn't like that one tbh. Why not? It's Barcelona's slogan translated, so no originality which is a wee bit embarrassing.
  6. Calzaghe may have had a 'title' for 9/10 years, but it was the WBO, the weakest of the 4 main titles. During that reign he never attempted to unify (which says a lot) until Lacy chased a fight with him. He wasn't the ring champ until the Lacy fight (despite having a shit belt for a decade) and fought absolutely no-one between a shot Eubank and Lacy (who has turned out to be another yank hype-job). He never attempted to fight the no1 boxer in the world (RJJ) despite the fact he was only 1 weight above him; well until Roy was too old! In Joe's book about 3 years before the Jones fight, he actually states that there is no point fighting Jones now, as he is a shadow of the fighter he once was.......fast forward a few years during Joe's legacy stealing fights against the old men and he's all over it like a dug in beetroot! Calzaghe is a good fighter, but a total conman! He never gave Reid a re-match and never attempted any legacy defining fights with a peak fighter! Eubank, Jones and BHop were all well past it by the time Joe fought them, and Kessler is still learning (we still dont know if he will be that good). Calzaghe also refused to give Froch the opportunity to beat up on an old man......like what Joe spent the end of his career doing (in between fighting reality TV starts)! Can anyone actually defend Joe for fighting Manfredo instead of Froch?
  7. As a member of that religion, they most certainly do not represent me. Contraversial I know, but now the walks are just an excuse for a lot of neds to grab on the coat-tails of the real marchers in order to get it up the T****.
  8. Totally agree mate! The current financial quagmire/plight is in part due to outrageously ridiculous decisions like punting RMcC for free and pishin 3.5M on very average players like Lafferty. Did Ross not score more in 1 season in the Championship than Lafferty did in his whole career? Gross incompetence letting him go.
  9. That's mental illness for you! No idea what Mowgli's reasons would have been for it; he seemed to be an energetic and charismatic guy.
  10. The word is he was found in his garage in Hamilton. Hope it is not true, but strong rumours that he hung himself. RIP Mowgli
  11. Agreed, both were dynamite! To think that Mark McGhee had all but booted both out the door! Forbes was told he hadn't developed as they hoped, and was free to find another club! The word is that the tims had agreed in principal a £40k deal for Slane when McGhee was there; only for it to be cancelled when Mghee left! Slane is looking like he could be the best young player Well have produced in years; looks better than Mcfadden.
  12. That's 4 of the Motherwell team of the early 90's now tragically passed away: Phil Davie Cooper Jamie Dolan Paul McGrillen RIP
  13. The 'we do not choose' strapline is one of the best quotes when talking about this. Never fails to have me guffawing.
  14. I think the way that Hopkins systematically destroyed Kelly Pavlik makes Calzaghe's win seem even more impressive. Hopkins is still a class operator. I'd love to see Froch v Kessler, as Froch's laxed attitude to blocking and Kessler's bombs would make for interesting viewing! Exactly, Hopkins makes a lot of fighters look bad with his style and Calzaghe should get a lot of credit for the win. Froch v Kessler would be great. ALthough Kessler would win IMO, Froch would definitely be in with a chance and the fight would be a Fight Of The Year contender. In my opinion, Kessler's career will be directly linked with how Calzaghe is remembered! For example, is Kessler goes on to be a great. then Calzaghe's biggest victory (not many more good names on his record in their prime) will be big news! If however, Kessler ends up being another Lacy, then who would Joe's marquee victory be over? A completely shot RJJ, a 44 year old man or a past it Eubank? Doesn't read too clever does it! Is this not the same "44 year old man" that went on to beat the best middle weight in the world? The same "Best middleweight in the world" that jumped 2 weights to fight him! Pav's 'best middleweight' in the world claim is on the back off 2 wins over Taylor, making CF's win over Taylor something good also using that logic! Pavlik was exposed by Bhop as a 1 dimensional hype job (despite him managing to overpower Taylor), much the same way as Lacy was by Joe. Both Pav and Lacy are products of the US fans trying to create a superstar, rather than them being bona fide superstars! Watching those fights, it is clear to see that neither had the fundamentals to back up the hype - much the same as Lennox with Michael Grant. Also, using your logic, that fact that Taylor twice defeated a younger BHop, makes Froch's victory over Taylor more impressive anyway! The old cliche: styles make fights!
