  1. He is spot on. Why should we worry about a league that does not want us. They made their bed so they can lie in it. First division should not be an option. Straight into the third is the only way now.
  2. Caldow was a fantastic player but unfortunately as has been mentioned he was never the same after the leg break. Tackle was a real bad one and many believe there was intention to cause injury. Baxter stole the show that day but wee Davy Wilson played the game of his life at left back. Real players all of them and more importantly, real Rangers men. On a different match, remember the 9 - 3 hammering at Wembley, Caldow once told me it was because they played with an orange ball. Haffey the Celtic goalkeeper refused to handle it and the Rangers players refused to kick it.
  3. Never too late to start defending yourself but the fact we have allowed these people, and we know who they are, to kick shit out of us for years and get away with it will certainly make it a lot harder to fight our corner now. Why don't the club just come out and name all the "suspects" who constantly attack us and tell them exactly where to go, them and their rags.
  4. He may well be a good player and in weeks to come prove to be good for us but imo it would help if he concentrated more on football rather than complaining about everything under the sun. Do you think he felt he was coming up here for a nice quiet time. He knew what he was coming to and by agreeing to come needs to just get on with it. Oh and for all you guys going on about him being a hero a bear etc. in Struth's day he would never have been allowed near the place never mind pull on the famous blue jersey
  5. Passing or lack of is far from a new problem for us, we have been that way for years in fact I would go as far as to say we may well be the worst passing team in the SPL but a lot of it imo is the basics. When I played, many years ago now, we were always taught PASS & GO. This is how most teams play and in truth when we do we look good but we simply do not do it often enough. We continually make it hard for ourselves and although we get away with it in domestic games european teams close you down quickly so we have even less time to pick passes. Hate to say it but very similar to what that other lot did to us last Sunday. If you can't keep posession you are always going to be in trouble. Hope Ally can sort this out and quickly.
  6. Was once told by Bomber that Fleck was the best young player he had seen or worked with. Think he was 14 at the time. Fleck that is not Bomber, but still to be convinced. How many times have we heard of young players who are going to be the best thing since sliced bread only for them to disappear into the lower leagues. Hope he makes it big time.
  7. really don't see how this helps in anyway. spl claim all games scheduled to be played before the split must be played by that date so how can holidays scheduled for after this date help the situation unless they move the date of the split. last match before split is 16th april good friday 22nd april match 34 due 23 april royal wedding 29th april am i missing something?
  8. Minstral Obviously hard to argue against 9iar and having had to watch that other do it I will always be thankful to Walter for ours. You could argue about the quality he was up against and the money he had to "throw" away but it still does not alter the fact that what we are watching just now is not football as I know it and if you think back to how we played when wee Dick arrived you could argue how poor the quality was before he arrived. Its easy for us to sit and slag someone off, that is one of the reasons I don't post very often, but what no one can argue about is the crap we are having to watch on a regular basis.
  9. Although I don't post on here very often I do tend to read some of the articles on a daily basis and to be honest I can't believe some of the things being suggested about WS. He could not spell the word tactics during his first stint and he is certainly no better this time. What he has done is the same as what he did with Scotland, go out to make us difficult to beat. Everton was the same. I'm at the stage now that after more years than I care to remember I go to Ibrox more as a habit than as a love of what I'm watching in a blue jersey. How often have we watched us go one up and then sit back instead of killing the game? What does he watch in training when we must be the worst passing team in the league? Our freekicks are a joke, our corners and throw ins are even worse and these have all been evident for years. We play a long ball to a lone striker and watch as he gets kicked stupid by somethings as many as 3 defenders. Great tactics I must say. Half the team are playing out of position, remember a back four made up of 4 CH during 9 in a row? Some things never change. We have the players to win the league and the only real question is does the manager have the balls to go for it and I think the answer is no.
  10. did the same last season when he was at motherwell. "rested" his top players one week then played them against us the following week but as long as we keep winning so what. its in our hands.
  11. the spl own the fixtures so the only way ahead is for the majority of spl clubs to agree to whatever the proposal turns out to be. individual clubs are unable to sell their "own" matches
  12. really struggling with all this. If you have watched most of our games this season we have not turned up until after half time. Now whilst I think the selection was wrong and the tactics in the first half it is in the managers hands to change things when they are not working. Apart from the fact wee Dick would never have signed half the imposters we have does anyone believe that having watched the shambles for 20 or 30 mins he would not have made changes there and then. It seems to me that Walter will not even attempt to make a change until half time and yet a blind man could see we had a complete lack of width and pace. Our 2 strikers last night must be the slowest in the league and although you might get away with it at Ibrox it will never work the way the 2 teams were set up last night. I also honestly feel that Walter would have told them to make sure we did not give anything away. I bit like last years UEFA Cup Final. keep it tight and we may just sneak a 1 0 win. This should never be Rangers way especially in a domestic match where we are going for the title. An absolute disgrace and if it had been down to me I would not even have allowed Smith to travel home on the bus. Tactics or lack of is shocking. £28 million spent in just over 2 years and although we had a number of injuries we have made no progression what so ever. The time for change has long gone.
  13. i don't know if jim templeton comes onto this site, maybe if he does he will give some answers but I do know that with regards to being made a director he refused to accept the offer on at least 3 occasions. i was told this by one of his fellow committee members
  14. we must have 3 at home to balance the fixtures to 19 home and 19 away. if the league stays as it is we will play celtic aberdeen and hibs at home and hearts and dundee united away.
  15. it has gone up. rangers have not passed on the VAT reduction
