Is it just me or is he not getting the credit that he probably should be.

It seems at least that we always play better when he's playing.

Just look at the last 3 games, then think back to the times when he isn't injured for long periods, I know there isn't many, but when he isn't in the team, we seem to struggle.

I know he doesn't stand out too much, but it can't be denied that we do better when he is fit.

    Surely can't be just coincidence?

When he plays I don't miss Raskin one bit.

His form has improved a lot and each game we can see an actual style and system.

You can tell from that interview that Beale clearly lost the dressing room.

His form has improved but only to the level he should be at ,btw don't miss Raskin

He’s been like this consistently for almost a year now. Continuing to play him is madness.

Never commands his area stays on the line at corners with no men on the posts, too slow and stiff now has been a good keeper for years but those years are long gone, Give McCrorie the no.1 and btw what does Colin Stewart do ? Meant to be keeper coach, that needs looking at.

Think the stands are as close to the pitch as allowed for European games. That’s why we don’t need to leave the first few Rows empty like the tarriers and some English teams in the EL or CL?

Yes the pitch near touchline can't be closer because of the sight line at back of govan and back of main club deck, as for them leaving 3 rows behind the goals that's because euro advertising is bigger

  5. Lundstram seem the player at the back post and was too slow to close him down then turned his back instead of trying to block the shot , I think he was found out big time tonight very poor and not good enough to aid our team.

Goldson had a shocker which is not like him at all , In general the whole team played poor just hope it was a one off and we can turn it around when we can get players back.

The design of the corners and the screens etc are crucial to the structure of the stand so theres no scope for removing them and putting in seats

The corners at the screens are holding the roof up so to expand the three stands their roofs have to come off then you can do anything, or you put external cantilever supports to take the weight of the roof at the corners ie Dortmund then take away the corners.

No surprise to see this, I was going to get one for this season but that's not looking likely.

As for increasing capacity, I am sure the structure of the Govan stand and the adjoining stands rely on the screens to help uphold it all so replacing the screens with seats isn't possible. Realistically you'd need to knock down 3 stands and replace them with a bigger structure to increase capacity. I shudder to think how much that would cost.

The goal post roof steel is only supporting the roof , so take the roof of and build on another tier and do the support with a cantilever like  Dortmunds estimated 8000 extra seats . Do the other two the same and we're at mid sixty thousands where we should be.

Been watching quite a few videos of the weekend antics on a calm level, videos before, during and after, before my days viewing I was quite sceptical of how much a crowd could influence and affect a result in  sport,  12th man talk couldn't be explained any better than the way we behaved as a fan base on Saturday,  take a bow fellow bears, outstanding.

Master stoke by the club , the fans surrounded the pitch and their players shit it . Ibrox is our home and this time in an old firm game it felt the way it should.

    12th man for sure.

  9. The midfield today are not creative enough Halliday is ok as emergency back up but not midfield, looks lost going forward , plays too many side or back passes. Coulibaly is just a terrible footballer, McCrorie is never a creating midfielder , Grezda has had enough chances . Arfield ,Dorrans and Jack are missed badly. So today we dodged a bullet with the players Stevie has available .

DI was looking for a midweek game v Dundee Utd when we got humped 4-1 but could not find it, on wiki it gives you the crowd/scorers in all the games I was looking at seasons  80-83 and our attendances outwith the scum games were shite, anything from a low of 6-7k to regular 15-20k and an odd 40 odd v them was pretty much the norm, no problem getting a seat then, when Souness took the job 86 ish  we were getting crowds for non of games of 30-40k and I could not believe it, it all seems pretty small fry now but these were huge crowds to what we were used to.

Just when you try to erase that time from memory

If I might please have a moment.

We surely can't thank Johnny Dangerously, Don54, MattyBlue, Mckay, et al , enough for initiating and contributing to this fascinating thread - well, especially for oldies like myself!

I've simply had some time to hopefully contribute, however, I'm concerned it could be an excessive contribution in a short time, so I'll scale it back.

Without question, what has become apparent in this 'trip down memory lane', is just how many fabulous players we had.

    One day again... maybe.

When I posted the photo of Trevor Francis, I realised I had completely forgotten that he also played for Rangers...

Biggest surprise though was the lack of reaction to that Basile Boli picture.

Thought I might be lambasted with responses such as, "Aw come on, did you really have to remind us...,?".

I'm sincerely grateful for all the 'likes'.

You sure you watched the right team?

They average about 1k home fans

Aye it was at their park only one stand but a section with their version of the UB's , point was they were reducing prices to get more support , as it turned out that was a non starter .

Apparently Shkupi are only charging home fans £1.75 a ticket to try and get a bigger crowd

Watched a bit of a home game of theirs, fans setting off flares and singing throughout , moving to their national stadium will create a good atmosphere with maybe 20.000 at it. Can't believe no fans of theirs come over considering how they support .

Then there's something seriously wrong with our scouting department.

This boy's going all the way to the top. I think he'd be an even better option than Mulumbu - and that's saying something.

    Thoughts?

Amazes me that the British Broadcasting Corporation, is anti the most British club of them all.

BBC a left wing organization of the highest order , if your a white heterosexual protestant and a Rangers fan who is proud to be British then you are the lowest form of scum in their eyes
