It's just underwhelming and lazy appointment from the board imo. I'd not be surprised if the players had a big say in this one as well. 
Hopefully he goes onto to be a big success for us. Just worry about the lack of experience. Being a coach at us to being the manager is a massive step.

There’s a lot of reasons why people are annoyed.
Appointing a complete novice manager at a time when it’s crucial we get the appointment right, and yes I know Souness and Gerrard had no experience, but Beale doesn’t have the star power, force of personality or career they had as players behind him. You also have to consider that for every coach who’s tipped as a “manager in waiting” that goes out on their own there are probably the same number, maybe even more, who flop. For every Hansi Flick you get two or three Paul Clement’s. Out support are just generally more open to it because we struck gold with Smith over 30 years ago. 
5 million spent in the past year on compensation and pay outs to end up with the previous managers assistant as the manager.

Beale is taking the brunt of it from people, unfairly IMO, but the supporters being angry is an accumulation of a lot of things.
