Again, I never said you would, but there's thousands of Rangers fans who've never saw us win a Treble, many thousands who haven't seen us win a League in person, it'll be them who'll hold him and everyone else in the squad up as legends if it happens.
 
Fuck me, Marvin Andrews still gets the hero treatment for being part of Helicopter Sunday and he was hopeless, players from memorable successful seasons are always put on a pedestal.

We want a striker that scores the most amount of goals.
10 attempts and 2 goals is better than 2 attempts and 1 goal.

My guess is he meant ‘in a game’. ie would prefer to watch a striker with the same goal return who creates very little but is lethal or one who creates loads of chances but only converts a small proportion. Isn’t that hards concept  to grasp (unless you take everything literally)
Personally, id prefer one who created (and fluffed) loads of chances but still scored roughly the same amount of goals.

The whole 'we need a 20 goal a season striker but not this one' gets on my tits.
Its not Dessers' fault Roofe is made of glass, Lammers misfired, Danillo and Lovelace got crocked (you can add in Sima too even tho he's not a striker) and £35m man Silva is utter shite, meaning we've had to rely on him leading the line through most of the campaign.
He misses a fair amount of guilt edged chances but he has scored some crackers manufactured from nowt. 
Weirdly if he was a 20 goal a season man who scored the obvious ones and did little else (ala Colak) we'd probably be raving about him.
 
 
 
 
 

I wouldn't sign Shankland now.
Wanting Shankland in was very much a product of the circumstances of the time. We needed somebody in January to come in, understand the league, understand the job required and - most importantly - have the best possible chance of hitting the ground running. Shankland and maybe Miovski were the only 2 players who fitted that mould, and IMHO Shankland was most likely to fulfill that role.
Lack of goal threat, due to injury and personnel has been maybe the main reason we look to have blown the league. Dessers being unreliable and having no serious competition is part of that.
However, time moves on and the Shankland ship has sailed. We don't need him now.
Given it is a summer window, and we have the luxury of some time with going into a new season - there will be better options out there, and for better value.

Morelos failed to score more than 18 goals in 4 of the 6 seasons with us (and for context he played a minimum of 43 games every season at Rangers).
 
Dessers is on 19 and counting on his first season.  The criticism of him this year has been way over the top, he's a talented forward that's lacked consistency for sure, but I think he'll kick on and do much better next year.

Outwith the 2-1 game at Ibrox where he bullied Davies and scored a great header, Shankland has been worse with each game against us, thought he was pish yesterday and I like him as a player.

Best Striker at the club now.

Shankland is slow as fuck with the arse the size of the Broomloan, give him 3 months in a Rangers top and we'd be moaning like fuck because he holds us back and he can't do anything against packed defences.

if he takes our pens (like shankland takes hearts) then he is the leagues top scorer by a distance.

That donkey Silva cost him both an assist (when Dessers could've tried for a hatrick himself and unselfishly squared it) and a third goal (by failing to square it to him late on).
 
Dessers is a good player that will do even better with better players around him.  He clearly likes balls fizzed into feet that he can take in his stride. We need to play quicker football.
