  1. Many people who saw Jigs limitations in midfield pre admin found a new and long reaching respect for the big man after the way he stepped up both on and off the pitch post admin but the anger isn't aimed at Jig who as you say is a honest trier but at the fact we seem to be shunting our best young player out wide to accommodate Jig at DM where for all his graft he's just not very good. You mistake despair with Ally for hatered of Jig (or Ally for that matter) No bear hates our legends but that doesnt mean we have to think everything they do is wonderful when sometimes its not.

    Spare me.

I'm not saying either are beyond criticism, that would be ridiculous. Adults should be able to criticise without a character assassination though.

  2. It seems to be an honest and accurate opinion and hardly a character assassination, certainly an opinion which any sensible fan would be in agrreement.

Yeah helpful, thanks for that unbiased contribution. Big Lee is one of the more popular members of the squad, I hardly think the opinion that he's an over-the-hill money grubber who only TUPE'd over because no-one else would have him would have many fans - sensible or otherwise - nodding in agreement.

  3. Come on TWB, he is fecking honkin'!

Unlike a lot of people on here, I actually think the vast majority of our players are quite good although I respect the fact that others may disagree. But I have watched Jig for long enough to know that that is one turd that cannot be polished. And dipping it in tinsel does not count.

People seem to really hate Jig for some reason. I think he's no more than an honest trier who always gives a hundred per cent, but he seems to always get slated by a very vocal group regardless of how he actually plays. It's happened since he joined he club, died down a bit the last few but seems to have returned again.

  4. oh god, im sure he is.

Past it, only holding the young players back now.

I hate saying this but the only reason McCulloch didnt leave with Naismith, Whittaker, McGregor ect after liquidation is because he was already well past his best at that point, no decent club wanted him or more importantly were willing to pay the kind of wages he was getting with us. Got away with it against 3rd and 2nd division opponents.

He was over the hill then and he most certainly is now.

What's all this about? If you don't rate him as a footballer then fair enough but why the need for a character assassination?

We heavily criticise those who left now we're calling into question the motives for those who stayed?

  5. As long as they are approaching 30 and have lost their pace then they are his pal, if they are under 21, or they have pace and skill then they aren't his pal.

So all the players in the squad who are between 21 and 28 are...what? Persona non grata?

  6. I may be some sort of weirdo but I still enjoy the match day experience, there's not much more pleasurable than going to fitba with your mates.

If I went purely on the expectation of being entertained and value for money, I would have only been to about a dozen games in my life.

  7. that's because he has been beyond shite, bar the 4th tier of Scottish football, whilst costing us over 8 million

he is exactly the jobs for the boys mentality that delivers dire football

or to put it another way

would he get a game for hibs, hearts or any spl club?

would he get the same wages from any other club

he is ripping the shit out the place

no doubt with a cushy coaching role to follow

I really can't take people seriously when they pretend to know what individual players are paid.

  8. We've seen it far too many times where McCulloch is concerned even you can surely see that

He's justified his inclusion the last two years but this will be a season too far - and I've never rated him in midfield anyway although I don't think he's as terrible as people make out, as I say I'm going to wait and see if he's a permanent fixture in the starting line up before crying about it.

There's always one player who people seem to focus all their negativity on and Jig is an easy target.

  9. i agree about jig, hence my disapproval that he is getting valuable game time in centre mid in pre season, that time should be used for someone that is actively going to play there this season

as for miller and boyd fitting into plan A, it depends on what plan A is, and to be honest i dont think ally knows what his plan A is, hence again my disapproval

if we were an absolutely belting team at say 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, the fair enough you can experiment with other systems, but i dont think we are comfortable in any system yet, and imo thats where we should focus first

It's hardly valuable game time. It will almost certainly be Law and Black in centre mid and they've just had an entire season to forge a partnership - whether you agree they did or not is immaterial as it is unlikely that a few pre-season games are going to change that.

I'm not even going to respond to the last point.
