  1. This has been lingering since it broke..and its old news now..all i care bout is rangers and i dont give a damn about george burley and the morons at the SFA....they have always been weak and they showed it again and again... so what now?....well i wouldnt be suprised to see McGregor and Ferguson in a double deal to Newcastle or some other team down south..im tempted to say smaller club...cos anything outside of the Gers, in tems of support and loyalty is smaller. I lived in the Toon for years and i know how popular Shearer is..but hes also a big fan of scottish players as well..and he got his coaching badge in scotland too..so he has had dtime to rub shoulders with alot of peopl here in the scottish game and made some good contacts..i think he would be interested in the 2 of them...especially after Given jumped ship and they lack leadership...Jim Traynor intimated in his column that ferguson was not liked by th Rangers fans...i think its more that his attitude is not like...there is a diffeence Jim...just cos we dont like u..dont tar everyone with the same brush....as for McGregor..having lived in Newcastle..there will be plenty of opporunites down the Bigg Market to pick up some tottie....lol..ok.. but seriously...mcGregor has a future,no dout..but has he got the mentality...some may point to andy goram...hey..andy wasnt perfect..but he still went out there..game after game, season after season and did the business...he perfected the art of being the hellraising chick chaser..but that was then and its not tolerated in this day and age...and anyway..andy goram and mcgregor .....no comparison.....the goalie was loved for his briliance and his farailties and we as fans could identify with that.. I still lok at Barry and wonder if he could have had that coolness of his brother... i was a big fan of his and even when he played in Sunderland..he was still a class act...why does barry have to piss away a god given talent...one thing traynor did get right..get rid of the hangers on...u only have to look as far as Gazza and u can see what having the wrong group of friends can do to ur career...p.s. im not including coisty in that...lol...... but i can see them heading south..although i do think both players could still be big names at inrox..and i think ferguson being here..pushes davis and mendes to play consistently..i will be interested to see..if mendes in particular keeps showing his consistent level of performance..or will let it slide now the pressure of barry being the main man in the middle of the park..... as for scotland...Burley should go..he is not of Scotland Manager material....he has no bottle...and there was more to this than those 2 being idiots... and the SFA know it...i dont believe its as clear cut as it seems and they should never have been banned for life....i believe the SFA will have to climb down and resind the ban for life and let them back in....theres worse been done...bad example..ok..punished..yes...would u expell a kid for life for the same thing...if we are setting examples to our kids...we have to lead by example..if they think that doing something as childish will lead to life bans...isnt that just as bad.. ive seen worse....and it go unpunished...remember when paolo dicanio shoved the ref..or when cantona king fu kicked that fan...weigh it up and i think u see how silly it all is... im on walter smiths side on this..but i bet even walter wouldnt have banned them for life...from scotland....the clubs image is important..and im sure that in time..this situation will find a satisfactory conclusion......but i still believe..there were more than 2 rangers fans involved..... looking frward to the league title guys...lets get focussed on the field again....cheers
  2. probably true..thats what happened at raith rovers i think....was it not hogg and mcstay and one hit the other..both transfer listed and once it died down everything went back to normal?
  3. Well macgregor has been so full of himself....when he first came into the team he was a pretty humble guy...now he thinks hes invincible and barry...well ive always thought that he was on step away from something stupid....but it doesnt make them bad players...i also think ferguson needs a change...he will always be a ranger... but the guy i realluy think ewho should be booted out of his job is george burley....why was he ever appointed as scotland boss...i am scotland through and through.....but this guy inspires nothing in me as a fan..and he was weak in how he handled all of this too...the SFA as usual are pathetic...and rangers yet again show them the way..Walter Smith takes crap from no one and the same when he was scotland boss too... this whole episode has gone too far and yes i would move barry on...sort macgregor out and scotland need to retract that stupid statement and reduce it to a ban....theres been worse done...and allowed to slide.....lets face it.....they werent caught sliding down a drainpipe and out of the hotel....all they had to do was tell the hotel to not serve any players...how hard was that... cheers....scotty
  4. Hi Guys.. theres always gona be specualtion and theres always going to be players we favour and others we dont, leave this club. one thing we are forgetting is the no player is bigger than the club! Walter Smith is not a stupid man, nor would he tolerate seeing his team being taken apart without any input into the whole process. Do you remember when he was at Everton and the chairman sold players from under him, he publicly outed him and then he threw in th towel. Big Walt is a proud man and a superb coach. He took us to championships and we also achieved a lot of Euro successes. Barry Ferguson is a great Rangers player, but it wasnt so long ago he was the one wanting away and headed to Blackburn. I remember when big Jorge was getting sold, i was outraged, but it didnt have me calling for anyones head. I understand all of the upset, but its the demand for success and to beat celtic, but at the same time we dont want to end up with a biscuit tin situation, now do we?????? I want rangers to win as badly as anyone to see Celtic halted, but i dont think they have been successful due to how good they are, I just think its the fact that Rangers have had a bad choice in manager, LeGeun and the successful run in the UEFA Cup. Walter Smith came in and had to undo alot of the damage and he and McCoist and the rest of the coaching team have brought alot of pride back to the Teddy Bears, who would have forecast our success last season, christ, we were up for 4 titles.. I think Ferguson is someone who rangers could live without, i can see a younger team being moulded and build for the years ahead. Look if we were deaparate, we coulda went out and brought back levekrands and Johansson, but we didnt. Theres a definte plan in place and as long as Lee Wilkie doesnt end up at Ibrox, I'll be happy, of course i would gladly see him playing at the heart of the Celtic defence, in fact i'd be will to chip in a couple of bucks to help them buy him.. But the bottom line here is, we are all supporters of the greatest club in the world, we are going through transition, more players will leave and some will come in. Walter has the habit of getting the best and more from his players. Rangers are a proud club, lets not sell ourselves short...isnt that for other clubs to do?...I like big boydy, wee nacho, Burkey wasnt the same player from week to week. we need players that are going to gel and give a consistent performance... Plans are afoot for big development at Ibrox, but as loyal Rangers fan, I dont see us having a stadium that is second to none without a team to put on it...so there must be something going on with regards to finances...i think in the short term..things might not seem as bright, but i believe theres something in the offing guys...something that will put us firmly where we belong at the top....I have a dream!!! Scotty... P.S. I run a private soccer academy here in Moncton NB in Canada and all the clubs and associations around here are interested is money, they dont care about the kids or development. The kids that come through my academy, one thing they learn is to have a passion for the game, the shared love and of course, to have the heart...the lion is a very important part of our crest, that is the kind of courage and determination they need...no money in the world can give or buy u that...just the belief and determination....and for me, that has always been the Rangers way, even when times are hard!!
  5. Hey guys.... u know..when i was young and all of my mates hung around..we used to sing these racist songs to each other etc..but we never really knew wot we were saying and we never took offence..it was more like a competition than anything..but it is a learned behaviour..u say it all around you.. its also the same where come from in ayrshire...we grew up being taught to hate the people in the town next to us, we never knew why..cos it was learned and just accepted..and when we grew up and all ended up in the same school...thats when the trouble really started..and there was no real reason for us to hate them..other than that we were programmed to do so..this racist thing going on is not much different..it doesnt kick in until we grow up and start going to matches etc..but its not that we sing the songs out of glorification of seeing anyone dead..its not the meaning behind it..its songs that we know and sing...i remeber playing a record celebrating the rangers of 72...like "we got the best team in the world"...now could u imagine singing that at ibrox and going through the list...that would cause just as much arguement....who is the best line up, who is starting the day and so on..its a different era...and the rules are different..and all of the changes cannot be laid down to the door of rangers and our fans... the thing about rangers and celtic is a long time honoured tradition of rivalry and like scotland v england...will it ever die....for the most part we dont see the hatred that used to spill over into the streets..but then again..the media used to fuel that by lapping it up and printing it on the front pages... i love the Gers and dont accept lightly anyone saying anything against them....but how can anyone single out our fans over a song and say that we are racist and yet over the other side of the city we have them sstill singing about killing and hunger strikes..and they cant say they dont...they have whole bars dedicated to the IRA...and all they do is sit and sing songs of hatred...so to say we are racist is just plain looking for a scapegoat..just anyone..and as usual..the Teddy Bears get the finger pointed.. if this email seems a wee bit disjointed..wot im trying to say is..we play game when we are young..we dont truly understand wot we are doing..but the vicious cycle of events continues and when we are older the seriousness of it all kicks in..for the most part we are quick to change and learn that its not the time and the place for such songs and behaviour....and I think that Rangers endevours over the years has set the standard for fan behaviour..even when others have tried to tarnish our image..we should not accept the finger pointing and pathetic attempts to drag us into the racist boiling pot once more...we are multicultural club...no bigger exits..no pouder exists...and we hold records no one will ever match or exceed..now where is the respect that we should be shown....JOHN REID should shut his mouth and get his own house in order...although i live here in Canada now for 4 years..i watch every game i can and i am as loyal to the cause as ever..i believe we are the standard when it comes to policing our own...others should be taking notes....we have reversed a problem that has existed for a long time and we are to be congratulated..... heres to another great season....Scotty
  6. Why are we selling our top players..i could think of 2 or 3 id shift long before i would let hutton...we have a good crop of young stars and the future is looking so good..if he does leave for spurs or even newcastle...then hes only taking a step backwards...lets face it...neither of those sides are top drawer at the moment..and look at boumsong..the newcastle defence is miserable...they need 4 alan huttons not just one... i know walter needs to rebuild and cash is tight...but c'mon...when was the last time we had a right back who could steam down the right flank and create so much havoc, create chances and even bag the odd goal.. if its true..its a sad day...sorry guys...but this is not a good move...if he wants to go...then thats his problem..
  7. love this site and love the fans...theres only one team on thi planet that can have this much love...the mighty rangers...the teddy bears...need i say more looks like the lads are starting to get on a roll..but we need to tighten that defence up...but its looking good for No 52.... happy new year to all blue noses around the world...Scotty :beer2:
