  1. Outstanding again. Our football is a joy to watch at the moment and your videos make a great wee package to watch us in.
  2. Plenty of teams line up asymmetrically depending on personnel. It can be a powerful tactic in its own right. I think Arfield is comfortably the best judge of where he can be most useful at any given moment out of all the players in our team. Davis is the only one to even come close to having that level of intuition and tactical nous. I wouldn't be surprised if Arfield's instructions from Gerrard before each game are just to go out and make things happen.
  3. I think Katic makes Goldson a better player. I think his confidence levels and his ambition to carry the ball out of defence are both raised having Niko beside him. I honestly don't think we've had four such competent CBs in my lifetime and we've hardly seen Helander yet.
  4. It was extra fitting that Sviatchenko made such a big fuck-up for our first last night but he really is a complete nothing of a footballer. Surprised Gerrard actually even paid any attention to him at all. Not worth thinking down to that level. Edit: as Del pointed out below, it was Nicolaisen who fucked up so i'll laugh at them both.
  5. I would be happy to keep Kent if he was already ours. He grew into a menacing player over the course of last season. With the play and attitude of Ojo and Jones so far, I certainly wouldn't go spending money to buy him now and a loan would be pointless for both parties. I'll stick with Ojo.
  6. I have a wee comedy "Boingggggg" sound that goes off in my head every time some new hard nut defender meets Alfie for the first time and tries to bump him off the ball. It's usually accompanied by TV footage of some lanky streak of pish sliding across the turf looking stunned. I think I even prefer this trait to all his lovely goals. Well, maybe it's a tie.
  7. Maybe if we find a way to mash all three possible LBs into one body, we might have a good footballer.
  8. It has to be Halliday. Nothing to do with footballing ability. It's just that nae cunt seems to be able to spell Barisic or Flanagan.
  9. There's a secret scale of 0 - 100 on RM, 0 at the miserable end, 100 at the ecstatic end. Default happiness setting on this scale is around the 10-15 mark. After a good wee streak, we're allowed to move up the scale to around 50-51 before the optimists are shouted down and they are sending in some of the scarier elements from the OT. There was a rumour we hit 60 on the scale after the Fiorentina shoot-out but they've never been able to back that up and Admin set Muff loose soon after to restore some order and the sense of impending doom. After Walter's third title, they decided happiness was a real risk and Admin threatened Minty with the material they were holding on him. He was given a year to execute the whole McCoist/Whyte/SFA plot or they would spill. They've kept a firm grip on the misery/ecstasy balance ever since. Trust me, Gerrarrd is a marked man round these parts.
  10. I must have missed a memo somewhere😥. Since last Sunday we have beaten Kilmarnock on their bouncy castle and slaughtered FC Midtjylland in Denmark (joint top in Danish Superliga with 5 wins out of 5, only 1 goal conceded) and Hibs at Ibrox. We have won 29 corners while conceding 7 and had 55 shots, 35 on target, and scored 12 goals. And yet, according to some of our resident experts, our attack is weaker than it was last season🤣.
  11. Looks to me like he's lost a couple of pounds from his gut and added them back as muscle in his legs. He looked seriously quick yesterday.
  12. Joel Andersson is the right back. 22 year old Swedish international. I suspect he'll end up in Germany or the Netherlands next. Not a patch on our Dear Leader. Kaba isn't as good as either of our strikers.
  13. I've been basking in the glow of last night's result and performance all morning and you bring the spectre of Nicky fucking Law back onto the boards😢. Games a bogey now. that's my weekend fucked...........😉
  14. I don't think he'll play in a lot of those games, we're more likely to see Ojo in those, he has better close control. If we have Jones in for Euros, them, hivs, hearts, sheep and a couple of others away from home, he'll get a decent 20+ starts a season and we'll get a good return. We have a proper looking squad this season for the first time in 10 years.
  15. I honestly hope nobody outside of us ever notices how good he is. I hope he is here for the next 10 years. We may need to buy him some disguises and fake passports.
  16. I noticed an interesting and smart wee move Flanagan was doing under high balls last night. Not being the tallest of guys, when the aerial stuff was coming in he was checking Katic was there and then putting wee blocks or nudges in on FCM players coming in as second or third challengers to Katic, so that Katic was always 1 on 1. It was really, really effective but never enough to get himself done for fouls.
  17. I'm not 100% certain Worrall could be classed as a dud. He was an improvement over what we had the season before. The problem was he wasn't as good as Katic and playing him ahead of Katic was a mistake, whether that was down to a judgement on playing abilities or contractual obligations from the loan.
  18. He put 3 guys flat out on the turf in the first ten minutes last night and won the ball each time. Fair enough one of them was Aribo but shit happens.
  19. Right from the kick-off last night, you could see FCM were targeting Flanagan and Jones. All the long diagonals were being played down that side. They gave up that tactic at half-time. There was a good reason for that.
  20. He carried our midfield last night and was the one organising the lines and directing the traffic when we didn't have the ball. I love Kamara and Aribo but when we didn't have the ball, particularly second half, they were both caught walking too much. FCMs second goal was solely down to Jack getting caught covering their space when Kamara went walkabout and Aribo just strolled casually across the 18 yard box without pressing or challenging at all.
  21. That control and wee dinked pass to Katic for the third was different class. I thinkwe will see an even better, and happier, Morelos this season with the better players around him and when the team beds in properly. He was very, very good last night.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple of isolated scuffles as I saw a handful of over-lubricated FCM ultra kids mouthing off and, to be fair, the Midtjylland fans aren't used to seeing their team get ripped apart on their own ground that often. The ones around me lat night were utterly stunned by the way the game went. It was no worse than your standard Saturday night pissed-up ned stuff though. However, 99% of what I saw both in Herning town centre and around the ground, were people swapping tops, giving each other thumbs up and generally having a laugh. After the game, I saw a lot of Bears, in small groups, walking through the FCM end and car parks, just singing songs and enjoying the win. The Danes, as they usually do, were taking it in their stride and enjoying the spectacle. I thought both sets of supporters were tremendous last night and showed just how you want fans to create an atmosphere but also how to handle victory and defeat. Hats off to the Polis and stewards too. Low key, mellow and joining in with the spirit of the night.
  23. The fact that he lost the ball in his first three or four runs with it but just came back for more tells me he has the bottle to play for us. Train and polish his game over the next year and he could be something special. I already love his attitude.
  24. First league game of the season, away from home on a bouncy castle, eight new players in, last minute winner against a team we couldn't beat in the league all last season, Collum having laid down a marker for his performances this season (we dominate the play and get twice as a many fouls given against us) = whinge-a-thon on RM. Same old, same old.
  25. I'll be driving the thirty minutes to the ground, then 30 minutes home to my kip just after. Sorry😄. Actually, I have the highest regard for any and all who follow the team around Europe (and even the world). Hope everyone makes it here and home safely. And the single fellas need to keep their fantasies about Denmark in check; there's munters here too🤣.
