  1. Got to be Wallace for me. He deserves it as the only top player we had that stayed that could easily have gone. His POTY performances the last two years as well he has been leading by example anyway. It can't be Jig or Daly as I can't believe for a minute either will feature as starters too often.
  2. A wee bump for this thread, and to wish everyone going on this a great day. Having done this a couple of times now, it really is a must for any Bear who loves a sense of history and nostalgia surrounding our club.
  3. RIP Manticore. A sad loss to RM. Thoughts with his family.
  4. We have usually had a 30 goal a season centre forward as well with McCoist, Boyd, Mols, (Negri even!!). Sadly our current crop fail at every level apart from Wallace at LB.
  5. Helicopter Sunday by a mile of course for those of us not old enough to remember '75 but a fav of mine is the league cup final of '94 where McCoist comes off the bench for his first game back after a leg break and scores an overhead kick to win it in extra time. He wrote his own scripts in those days!!
  6. There were 11 UB young lads arrested that night, and in the subsequent court cases that have just ended, 10 of the 11 were cleared of all charges and freed. So no prizes for guessing which part of the story the media are running with? Thats right, the one who got convicted of banging a drum. I'm not a huge fan of the UB and totally opposed to their love of pyro, but I am glad these young Bears got justice here. I was fortunate enough to see the video evidence of that night soon after the event, and it was clear to me that this was a complete over-reaction from the Police, and one officer in particular who set everything off by pressing their panic button, getting cops running from everywhere, when there was absolutely no need to do so.
  7. More power to you Moonlighter, thanks for sharing this with us.
  8. I am not talking about anyone else, just giving my own opinion. And I am not boycotting my club, I will be there every game. As I say, it is more worrying about those who are "boycotting" until they get managerial change, that is far more worthy of your ire.
  9. I think we all want to know where he stands in the current boardroom troubles. Does he think this board are suitable for our great club? Does he know who really holds the power at our club? Would he consider getting involved at boardroom level again under different circumstances?
  10. You just dont get it. For those who are going to pay game by game, they will give the club more money over the course of the season than someone buying a ST in May. They are trying to hold the board accountable for their actions, or with this board it should be inactions. It would be great if we had an alternative to back, who was buying up shares and had a clear focus of running the club properly, not on the whim of hedge funds and middle-eastern businessmen like is happening just now, but we don't. It seems clear to me that King is not cut out for this, given his inactivity over recent weeks when he should have been here buying up shares and putting pressure on the board to act positively regarding refinancing. All he has done is get some fans to set up a Company and ask for pledges to try to force his way into the club without putting a dime of his own into it. That smacks of Blue Knights tactics to me and is not good enough for me, and given the fact that the majority of Rangers supporters (me included) have not either renewed or pledged, it seems to be not good enough for most of us who wont blindly back this board, but havent seen anything from the sole current alternative. Awaiting developments is sensible at the moment as there are no games and no rush to part with cash that you dont trust the current powerbrokers with. The ones I have an issue with are those who say they wont be back because the football wasnt good enough, or they dont like the manager. That is simply shocking as a Rangers supporter. We follow our team through good times and bad, we are loyal and true. That is the mantra of a Rangers supporter. Nowhere should it be that you claim to be a Rangers supporter that only goes when the team are playing great football, or when the manager meets a certain criteria. Was I happy with the style, quality and substance of football we played the last two years, or the manager's tactics, formations, substitutions etc. Nope, not at all. Does that make me want to walk away and stop following my team. No chance. I will be there, every week, home and away, as I have done for the last nearly 30 years. I follow my team, I do my bit. I am just choosing not to renew my ST just yet. Some in here need to get some perspective.
  11. It is the same shareholders, who appoint the board. While I am happy to give Wallace more time to see if he can produce something, it is clear he is fighting against the Easdales, who are only there to carry out the wishes of BPH and Margarita, whose proxies got him onto the board in place of Green. It is the same people in power behind the throne.
  12. There were documents leaked that showed who was in charge of Blue Pitch Holdings, and it was a Lebanese laywer whose name escapes me. El-something or other. The document was the one where he approves his Patsy onto the board last summer and wants Malcolm Murray kicked off.
  13. No it wasn't. The Credit facility Company told the club in January it would need additional security as our accounts were so bad.
  14. I have not renewed and I believe this board is seriously bad news. My thoughts have been that I will wait and see what happens over the summer. I am not bothered about my seat, it will probably still be there when I renew, and if not I will get another one. I have sat in just about every part of the ground before so not too bothered if I have to move. GOAT says what if i'm wrong. Wrong about what? The fact that Easdale is bad news and is controlling our football club via proxies from middle-eastern dodgy businessmen and hedge funds. Fairly sure i'm right about that. Wrong about our board pissing our money away, about them failing to nail down a good shirt sponsorship deal, failing to fight our enemies in the press and the SFA/SPFL, failing to get credit card facilities, failing to get enough money to see us through. Sorry, but im not wrong on any of that. Even if I did decide to not get a ST at all, I will end up paying more than anyone else game by game as I go to all our games anyway. That therefore gives the club MORE money than by buying a ST. The ones who are running away and not renewing because the footy has been crap, or because they want Ally out, they are not real supporters of our club. Anywhere, everywhere, we will follow on as the old song goes. I dont care how bad it gets on the pitch, I will still be there to see it, supporting my club through it all as I have been doing for nearly 30 years solid, home, away and in Europe. I want the board to get a wake-up call that they cannot go on like they have done, writing themselves big cheques, bonuses, pay-offs, arrangement fees & securities, while failing to address the lack of scouting, stadium facilities, financial stability. Delaying my take-up of my ST gives them something to worry about, like around 20,000 others who have not renewed. Hopefully we see big improvements in the coming weeks/months from them, but I dont hold out much hope.
  15. Haven't renewed yet. Will probably do so but I want the board to feel a little uneasy first as I do not believe they are doing a good job. I wont be signing up to King's plan as he has not given any detailed plans of what he wants to do or how he wants to run the club. I, like the majority of Rangers fans as far as we can make out, are in a wait and see situation just now, hoping the board can get its act together or King can start putting his money where his mouth is.
  16. A fantastic day out, and I would again urge anyone who has not done this yet, to sign up as soon as possible. Ian and the team are so knowledgeable and passionate about our club and our early days, and our founding fathers must be spinning in their graves at the current lot of charlatans that are in charge of the club they worked so hard to make a success.
  17. Looking forward to this tomorrow. Hopefully a nice dry day too! Dibs on a bottom of the bus seat!
  18. The Under 20's have just had a league game arranged for next Tuesday evening, which coincides with our game against Ayr United, so we won't be seeing any youngsters getting a game in the first team that night either. Seems stupid to have a U20 game on the same night as a first team game if you ask me
  19. Two of the technically worst players I have ever seen in the Rangers shirt in my nearly 30 years of going to every game we play. The one thing they had in common is that they both needed to be found an alternative position from their original position because they were not good enough to play there. If either of these guys get into the Rangers Hall of Fame, it will seriously discredit the entire process and it will become like the SPFL Player/Manager of the year awards, a sham.
  20. I am delighted that my RSC has booked the excellant Founders Trail tour for the 11th May for our whole club. having done the tour myself with my son a couple of years ago, I am really looking forward to doing this again as it is absolutely fantastic. Anyone not done this yet, get it sorted as you wont regret it and you will come off it at the end feeling really proud and good about yourself and our club.
  21. This forum is to talk about OUR club, not the bheasts. Discussions about the Bheasts are in the "other football" forum.
  22. I was under the impression it had been moved due to it being picked for tv. Unbelievable that it is moved due to a clash with the tims home game. The two crowds combined wont be 50K, (taking their usual number that turn up, NOT the official attendance!!) so what is the problem for the police, if indeed it is the police who made the call. I fail to see why we would want this on a feckin Friday night instead of just moving it to Saturday lunchtime/teatime or Sunday. 2 midweek games in the one midweek is a total pain, then having no weekend game to look forward to. There is something badly wrong with the footballing authorities in this country.
  23. RM cannot allow links to illegal streaming sites. Please do not post links.
  24. The game will be shown "as live" at 10pm on BBC Alba. The game was moved from Saturday 7th September due to us having international call-ups. The draw for the semi finals will be on Thursday.
  25. A reminder tomorrow's bus to QotS leaves at 5pm. Sunday's bus to Forfar leaves at 9.45am.
