  1. Evra disagrees. One of the best left-backs in World football, and Lennon ruins him time and time again. While I'm here... Joe Hart and Shay Given. 2 good shot stoppers, neither of whom have ever commanded their area and defence well enough, and both have always been suspect on dealing with crosses. I think they're both good, but no more than that. Talk of them being World class is a joke.
  2. For those that missed it: http://www.arsenal.com/match-menu/3263098/first-team/tottenham-hotspur-v-arsenal
  3. Regarding the Modric/Van der Vaart debate, this is a post I made on SpursCommunity on the subject@ Expect to see Spurs playing with a 5 man midfield in tough away games, especially in Europe.
  4. Pretty sure his wife has been cancer free for a little while now. It's well known that VdV is happiest between the lines, and this signing really backs up what I've said on here before - that Harry is looking to play 4-5-1 in certain (especially European) games this year. We were very much in for Joe Cole and Fabiano - players that would have allowed us to do so, and while neither came off, Van der Vaart is still ideal for the system. I expect us to make a real push for a quality #9 either in January or next summer. DM: Palacios, Sandro CM: Modric, Huddlestone, Jenas, O'Hara RW: Lennon, Giovani, Bentley LW: Bale, Rose AM: Van der Vaart, Kranjcar What options
  5. Rather than start a new thread, here's an ITK update from someone who's record is proving to be quite good recently:
  6. Sadly not my man Just come out of uni, and while it shouldn't take longer than a month or so for me to find the work I want, in the meantime I haven't got the pennies for the Shelf side tickets (£61), the train fair (£25) and the pre-match-beer (£10+). Worst timing too - I hate missing the first home game of the season. Always a cracking atmosphere. Here's to hoping I've found work by the time the group stages of the Champions League are drawn
  7. Those 2, on top of the current squad, would seriously give us the quality and variety to make a real push for the top 2 or 3 positions. The current lot aren't set up for 4-5-1, 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, but these 2 players would allow us to do exactly that, when the time called for it. ITK today is Young for £20m (£9m + Keane, valued at £11m), which I would be happy with. If Adebayor was to cost around £22m, we'd (in my opinion - not ITK) fund it with the sale of Pavlyuchenko for about £12m. Again, Ade' for Pav' + £10m is a fantastic upgrade at a reasonable price. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyOsBZvG6vE Quite simply a fantastic player.
  8. C'mon guys, use your noggins. Lifted from SpursCommunity:
  9. Well that one bit me in the arse... Liverpool really upped their offer a few days ago. Spurs actually planned to offer Joe an improved package today. He really was our top target, and we were convinced we had him in the bag. Ho hum.
  10. You sure you're on the right forum/been approved? No one with that user name www.SpursCommunity.co.uk When you're up and running, I'm ChRiStOpHe
  11. Nice The 4 main ones are the Bell and Hare, the Corner Pin, the Bricklayers, and the Bill Nicholson. I've drunk in all 4, but will usually stick to the Bell and Hare (as it's where most of the SpursCommunity - my main forum - frequent before the game). The Bricklayers is meant to have a fantastic pre-match atmosphere, but I've only ever been in their pre-North London derby, where I assume even the local laundrette would have been bouncing.
  12. Ok, I've had a few beers, and you lot quoting our squad have got me all reminiscent over the greatest season of my life. I'd embed it, but a video of this quality deserves to be watched through YouTube, setting the quality to 480p and increasing the window size. For those who have any sort of affection or even admiration for Spurs... enjoy
  13. Plus Sandro as of August - a fantastic midfield talent in the Patrick Vieira mould. Broke into the full Brazil squad in his first season of competitive football, and looks destined for big, big things. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandro_Ranieri_Guimar%C3%A3es_Cordeiro
  14. A qualifier sadly. This may be wrong, but I'm lead to believe it'd be against one of this lot: Fenerbache Dynamo Kyiv Braga Celtic Sampdoria Auxerre Unirea Urziceni PAOK Young Boys Gent
