We now have Steven Davis for that role. And therein lies the rub. If Smith refuses to play the two players we already have of this mould, why would he sign another one? Its not like Buffel has not had many chances before under two different managers? Drove them both nuts too. Buffel's main position is playing off a main striker and WS would rather see DC, JCD and KB play in the double striker role, otherwise where do you play him and in place of whom? As MuffGer says you now have Davis brought in too. I personally would like to see some more creativity, but first with Davis. Gow too. Has Buffel not also repeatedly asked to move? Buffel's main problem is as a striker he misses too many chances and is not a real winger or midfielder. He is a tweener. ^ I dont think he has repeatedly asked to move its taken him a long time to say anything about his situation

I think we have the best midfielder in Scotland, the most promising defender in Cuellar, the best wide man in Burke, the most creative midfielder in Buffel. Hutton has transformed himself in a year who knows what could happen, I personally feel that Steven Smith had more potential and cant wait to see him back in a Rangers jersey, he is also a top quality bloke whom I met out one night and he was saying he could not wait to get playing again! Also Adam has the best left peg in the SPL but needs to lose some weight

Hey heres another topic to get the blood flowing, What does everyone think of McGregor at the moment, I have said for a long time he is a great shot stopper as he has trained with the bes, even coming through the youth ranks whilst Goram was there, however I still feel he is by no way a great keeper like some of our previous, Who would you guys pick if you were in charge, be reasonable tho obviously not Buffon lol.

I can see this is a very hot topic, If it helps I was speaking to a friend who was at a reserve match at broadwood a few weeks ago and the first thing he said was that he did not know how Buffel is not playing because he was awesome, I think he scored tow and set up one, if anyone has any idea what game this was Id appreciate any feedback.

Thanks Poetry in Blue, This has been a topic that has been annoying me for a long time, being in my early 20s I try to tell my younger brother about the times of Laudrup and Gascoigne I just fear that type of football at Rangers will never come around again. It makes me sad to think that we may have a great player in our midst whom we dont use.

Hey I know this topic has been discussed many a time however I still cannot get my head around the fact that Thomas Buffel has not been let anywhere near the first team, I realise there is an under 21 rule but surely Buffel has that little bit of guile in the midfield that could really make Rangers that little bit more productive in the final third. Surely there must be more to this situation, we all know Smith is going for a robust approach and does not care how we win matches but as long as we win but I remember a time where we had the likes of Gascoigne and Laudrup to turn to, now who have we got. In now way am I saying Buffel is anywhere near the standard of the afore mentioned, but surely he is of that mould, a man you can turn to provide that little spark when a game is not going our way. What do you guys think?

Can I ask a question? I was at Alan McLarens testimonial, and Fowler played as a guest for rangers and middlesbrough, so are we saying that he also played for liverpool and rangers in smiths testimonial too?
