  1. I'm obviously missing a point here. If we are getting 45,000 in home matches but only 35,000 is from season ticket holders, then another 10,000 are paying per match. Say they are paying £15 on average, that's another £150,000 coming in per home match. With 18 home league matches (forgetting the cups) that gives another £2.7 million still to come in. And this all excludes sales of programmes, food and the balance of the season ticket money still to come. So there are still several millions yet to come, on top of the £10 million in the bank. So bust by xmas? How come?
  2. I agree that his only chance is as a centre back - with a hell of a lot of coaching. Slowest under 35 year old player I have seen. The move to cb worked for Ronnie McKinnon!! But I prefer Black to Hutton as well!!
  3. Quote from www.growingbusiness.co.uk - One of the core principles of good corporate governance – embodied in the so-called ‘Combined Code’ – is that quoted companies should split the chairman and chief executive roles. Britain is poor at a number of things: World Cup football, getting trains to run on time and predictable weather. But it is generally acknowledged that in matters of corporate governance Britain is a world leader. The independent chairman role is fundamental to this as a counterweight to strong-willed CEOs. The former’s role is to represent the interest of all shareholders. As such it is as helpful to private companies as it is to public ones – providing the appointment is the right one. The chairman should: Act as a buffer between the CEO and other board members as well as investors. For this reason, it is important that the chairman is truly independent and not a crony of the CEO. Investors should be alert to the dangers of a board packed with the CEO’s appointees. In venture-backed businesses there are often stresses between investors and executives. The chairman’s role is to resolve such differences in the most constructive way. Be neutral. The chairman should not constantly second-guess the CEO or try to run the company; that is the CEO’s job. But a good chairman can help create the strategic vision and be a sounding board for the CEO. Ensure that board meetings take place regularly and that the views of all board members are properly aired. That means being a good listener as well as something of a diplomat if the going gets rough.
  4. No problem - you were right at the time, it was our UEFA semi final penalty shoot out. But then it was followed by some Smelltic match so I switched off. It probably had the UEFA final after them because the programme was an hour long but I couldn't risk switching it on again!!
  5. Smellyvision on now though.
  6. Quote from the Record.................. It was too much for one of the more brainless Motherwell supporters who raced on to the pitch after the final whistle as if he was set to attack the treacherous McCulloch. He was smart enough to think twice though and wait just long enough to be huckled away by the stewards before reaching his intended target.
  7. I see your rep count is only a miserly -13. Let me add another -1 to it to help you along.
  8. So it does!! I was taken in by another tweet that said "increased" but that one was not from a BBC source. So I don't know if it's improved / increased / or just reworded!!
  9. Eh??? RT @BBCAlLamont: Duff & Phelps issue revised and approved proposals to Rangers' creditors. Awaiting analysis of said proposals.
  10. I'll have to fold!! Sun is SO desperate for readers nowadays.
