No Davis for this one please.

I can’t see Scott Wright having near enough the technical ability or vision to fit into this system. He offers a lot of running but I just don’t think he’s very good for the level we want to be at.

Delighted with the win of course, but performance level still well below what it should be. Too sluggish, players looked as though they were wearing concrete boots at times and I lost count of the number of poor/incomplete passes. Still we are winning when not at our best, hopefully Gio & Co can get things firing on all cylinders in the near future.

I’m sure our players appreciated the snowball squad’s efforts whilst standing around waiting to start the second half.  Each to their own though.

So much better than our usual play along the back and let the opposition get set to defend than eventually get the ball wide for the cross to packed defence. The through balls tonight were superb and we really should have scored 5 or 6.
The last 25 minutes were horrible sitting back deep again and giving up the pressing game. Lack of fitness or fear? Overall a great result and a better system and movement.

fucking make your mind up. if it's 1,000 now then keep it at that. when they are having a shit season and struggling to draw a crowd and try letting us have more we should tell them to go chase themselves. if 1,000 is good enough for them now then it'll be good enough going forward. fucking diddy club
  10. docspiderman liked a post in a topic by Vision in Where does he start?
A return to the hassling and harassing when out of possession would be a good start, playing at a faster pace, no more playing with two cdm's.
Morelos benched until he's in better shape, training and drills that involve shooting, set-pieces and dribbling past opposition players.
Dropping players when off form and vice versa when on.
We have a squad of 24 fit players at the moment Gio has to look each of them in the eye and see which ones are up for it

Saying that, would stand all day in the club deck if you had the option, the leg room up there is a fucking nightmare for tall cunts.

I will just add a few thoughts;  our record of ex Rangers players back as managers is not good since Willie Waddell.
Never thought GVB was all that committed to Rangers before.
Why do we need a Scottish assistant/someone who knows the league when we did not need one under Gerrard?
We do need someone who has been a winner as a player or as a manager not someone who has had a couple of good results.

Apart from money I do not see the upside of going to Villa; cannot see Villa as a top six side ever, a cup winning side ever. Good chance of damaging his reputation and future big club move.

People need to stop blaming Goldson for everything.
VAR rules that goal offside (players hand), the linesman got it wrong, Hagi's bad pass, Lundstram stuck in cement. Those are the culprits, not Goldson.

The problem with this is I assume tv money is included which skews any comparison with Rangers or any Scottish club; Hundreds of millions a year compared with a few million for SPFL champions.

Firstly, I don't moderate honest opinion.  I simply try to stop posters abusing each other and try to prevent totally unacceptable posts from being posted on the Forum.
We lost £23.5 million last year, or hadn't you noticed?  Yes Covid had a huge impact but the majority of us still paid for season tickets..  We all bought the (seriously over-priced) merchandise.  We were supposed to make a profit on player sales, in 3.5 years when has that happened?    Do you actually think that I like to criticise our Club???   I want the best for us on and off the park.   Goldson hasn't signed a new contract with us and in December he'll be 29.  He can sign a pre-contract just after that and goes for zilch in the summer.  Barisic looked like he had played his last game after beating the tims.  Wtf was his "final" lap of honour about?  It certainly wasn't the usual after-match applause.   He definitely looked like a player on the way out.  I'm not in the least impressed with our recent signings in the summer.
Sakala, Lundstram, Bacuna, Ofoborh.   Have any been remotely a success?
We can't give away the flops we have signed such as Hastie & Barker.  Simpson still has 3.5 years on a contract????
We have played about 20+ games this season and hardly any have been good to watch.  If the tims hadn't been struggling the RM and every other RFC forum would be going mental.  I love Gerrard for his demeanour and press conferences.  I'm struggling with the playing side of our club though.
If you have read down to this point then please tell me which parts of my post are shit and give your opinion.  This is not a flippant request, I'm totally serious.  In fact, it is exactly what RM is for.

Ross Wilson is an overrated failure.  Wilson, Gerrard and our own board have missed the boat in terms of capitalising on last season.  Their miscalculation has cost us literally millions.  It actually hurts to look at that.

Him and others should be roundly criticised for our recruitment.
Squad player after squad player and not strengthening our first 11.

Kent and Hagi made the difference imo. Each can ignite a game. I was happy with the subs overall. The starting 11 weren't up to it though.
Some of our passing prior to the substitutions was chronic. Not as if we were being hounded by a top team. Embarrassing at times.

It’s the bad passing that’s causing bookings and injuries, but they are fuckin doing it when not under pressure, can’t get ma head round this inability to control a fuckin ball, would nae be so bad but it’s their day job.
If I played wi my electrics the way they pass I’d be slightly deid by now.
Its as if they’ve lost the ability to be excellent since winning 55 ( Motherwell Apart )
And I would have Bassey in every time at present.

For me it's the current obsession with controlling the game. It's not working. A return to the high press and the midfield, at all times, looking for the forward pass is key. Both wing backs bombing forward and not sitting on the half way line.
The best form of defense is offense. Keep domestic opponents on the back foot for 90 minutes and we will win games. We wont be top come Sunday but keeping our 2 point lead is crucial.

I have never seen the young guy playing but he can surely be no worse than Sakarya who I have seen duck out of heading crosses and has a shot like a pass back. We really need options in our match day squad because what we bring on is not good enough.
  24. docspiderman liked a post in a topic by Smile in With what is available, how does Gerrard change it?
It's not new at Rangers sometimes you think what is the point of the youth system at all as we seem to just buy players to play and never involve our young players.
  25. docspiderman liked a post in a topic by The Beast in With what is available, how does Gerrard change it?
Rather than spunk whatever money was had on Lundstram, Sakala, Simpson and the lad with the heart condition, we should have brought in one player who was markedly better than what we had in that position. None of those mentioned above are as good as the players who were already here.
