  1. As much as we all know that Lee Wallace is worth a hell of a lot more than £900k, as a 3rd tier club our negotiating power is almost non-existent and our most valuable players are only worth a fraction of what they would be worth if we were the Premiership champions or runners up and playing in Europe. Taking that into account as well as the Club's much publicised cash shortfall, then in all honesty £900k is actually a very fair starting offer. We should also consider that when we bought Wallace from Hearts a lot of us felt that the fee we were paying was top dollar and that we were only paying it because he would prove to be worth it. And he has indeed been worth it, but let's not try to change the story now that we know his true value and act as though we got him for a song and he's now worth a lot more than we paid. That just doesn't make sense to me given our circumstances where we have players that would be worth something if we were in the top flight that are currently worth nothing because we're in the 3rd tier.
  2. If it started after the AGM or before Xmas, then it would need to include his 2 week holiday because he couldn't exactly say those days don't count, could he?
  3. James Easdale is no18 right at the bottom of the list in the screenshot. Ahmad isn't on it because he had sold his shares by that point, but it's interesting to note that Green still has his full shareholding on that Bloomberg list as of 13 Sept.
  4. I think this old shareholder list from 13 September tells us exactly where River and Mercantile have come from.... Note numbers 12 & 16 on the list. No12 - IIMG, is a fund run by BNY Mellon No16 - MGM, is a fund run by BNY Mellon BNY Mellon work directly for River and Mercantile through an outsourcing agreement - https://www.google.co.uk/#q=river+and+mercantile+BNY+Mellon
  5. Today's announcement states that they previously had 4.76% and increased their holding to 7.37% by purchasing 1,700,000 shares on Friday, but I can't remember seeing any previous announcements about them going over the 3% threshold. More delayed notifications?
  6. Signing a distinctly average attacking midfielder who turns 30 this summer would be a kick in the teeth for our young attacking midfielders and their prospects of getting game time.
  7. This is like a WWII leaflet drop before an air raid D'Art! Good luck and bombs away old chap!
  8. The beeb are reporting that getting rid of Stockbridge is costing £200k, but it's most likely just that the remainder of his £200k salary for this year is being paid, so it's probably only about £100k or thereabouts.
  9. The cull has started, so it might as well be done properly. Somers should be replaced by Dave King, then Jack Irvine & Media House should be next, followed by replacing the broker and NOMAD Daniel Stewart & co with one which isn't so closely linked to Whyte. That would do for starters.
  10. Multiple poor statements unbefitting of a Rangers Chairman, talks complete and utter shite and he's most likely a stooge for certain investors and not independent at all as claimed. Think that covers it. Dave King would be a far superior and far more trustworthy Chairman of Rangers.
  11. I see that people are being equally quick to jump to the protection of Somers as they were Green & co now that common sense has prevailed and the long knives are out. Truth is though, Somers is a total and utter buffoon, a clown of the highest order. We could do a hell of a lot worse than punting him now and appointing Dave King as the Chairman while he's in Scotland. It's a convenient opportunity!
  12. Probably the best news we've had since Green and Ahmad worked their ticket and we were told Green was leaving town with his dog and pony show to piss off to Normandy! Very shrewd move by the board of directors! My confidence in them has just went up one percent!
  13. Regarding the first question: Who they employ is intrinsically linked to how they perform. Continuing to employ Stockbridge & Irvine when most of the club's biggest investors, ie the fans, want these two men booted out, is clearly going to directly affect our ongoing perception of their performance. Regarding the second question: It's inevitable that results will eventually start mirroring performances occassionally next season and more once we're back in the top flight unless there's significant investment in the playing squad over the next two summer transfer windows. Our current squad as it is should be able to win the league next season no problem, but it'll prove a tougher test than this season. There's no doubt about that.
  14. I didn't say that though. Ally's salary was too high and I'm glad it's been reduced. Cuts need to be made throughout the club, but if the board and the investors they represent think they'll win a popularity vote between themselves and Ally and his players by continuing to employ the likes of Stockbridge and PR rats like Jack Irvine, then I have even more doubts about their suitability to be running Rangers.
  15. I think most fans will back Ally and the players before they'd back the current boardroom and their PR rats.
  16. FORMER Rangers chief executive Charles Green has revealed he has bought a French chateau. Green has bought Castle Marcei, near Argentan in Normandy for just over 400,000 euros. He told how he visited 30 properties before buying the 18th century castle and 27 acres of surrounding meadow and woods. The outspoken Yorkshireman said he plans to indulge his love of horses at the mansion. He said: “I just wanted to buy a property in Normandy to live with my 30 horses. “I’ve always been fascinated by the thoroughbred. Normandy is the epicentre of the horse world, this is where I decided to start a new life.” He added: “In each of my visits, it is as if the castle told me: ‘buy me’. “I hope to finish the work within three months and bring my horses.” Green was paid almost £1m in 13 months at Rangers, according to the club’s accounts. http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/rangers-charles-green-buys-castle-in-normandy-1-3124568
  17. Where did I say that? It should be about both and with serious questions marks about his competence coupled with such a large percentage of fans wanting him gone ASAP, then it's incredible that he's even still here.
  18. It's not just 'some' fans, it's the vast majority of fans. There's been multiple polls on the forums and websites and on average, well over 80% of fans voted that Stockbridge shouldn't be voted back in at the AGM and that's with some trolling tims voting FOR Stockbridge as well. Unfortunately, the shareholders apparently viewed it differently when they voted at the AGM.
  19. Scapegoat or not, sacking or getting rid of Stockbridge before the end of the season is going to be absolutely necessary for Wallace and the other new men on the board of directors, otherwise it's going to be extremely difficult for a lot of fans to give them even a semblance of trust. Good article though D'Art!
  20. The funeral of former Rangers player Ian Redford will be held at Perth Crematorium tomorrow, Thursday 23 January at 2pm. It should be a very well attended funeral as his family, friends, former colleagues and supporters pay their respects to the gifted footballer who joined Rangers for a record Scottish fee in 1980. Ian Redford made over 200 appearances for Rangers during the six seasons he was with us, scoring many wonderful goals along the way. Our thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved Ian during this sad time.
  21. I do have a theory that rounds of golf on top class golf courses are high on the agenda when our away game accomodation bookings are getting planned.
  22. In Aberdeen when they were up for the Montrose game? How would you know?
  23. I wonder who all had a wee round of golf up in Aberdeen last season when the team drove an extra 50 miles past Montrose where we were playing to stay in the swankie Malmaison hotel in Aberdeen just a few minutes from several links golf courses? Carnoustie would have made more sense for that one!
  24. The OP must have had inside knowledge that the team were booked into the Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa for a wee golf jolly.
