I am in the mind frame that we have a decent squad with some good talent in it but we have lost a good few players this summer
and have chosen not to replace any of them which to me is a bit worrying as a squad needs strength and depth , i know Walter says the youth will get a chance this season
thats fine but can these young lads handle the pressure of a game in Europe or against one of the leagues better teams ?
Also every other team in the top 6 seems to be bringing in new talent , yeah it may be people we dont know about or havent heard of but there is always a few gems to be had
out there so we will see what the SPL dishes up this season , my point is we have weakend our squad while others have strengthend theirs , i reckon we should have built on our l
league win and invested in the team to give us a bit of day light ahead of Celtic it doesnt need to Millions of pounds surely the scouts at Ibrox have networks and know of talent
around Europe/World that wouldnt cost the Earth ? , i know its sell before you buy but come on what do these people get paid for ?
I reckon Mowbray may get the tims playing good football and we could be in for another tough season ahead and will see a
bigger challange from the Edinburgh clubs mainly Hearts the rest will take care of themselves.
I think the squad is good enough to win domestic honours but in the Champions League i think it will just be about gaining experiance for the squad andenjoying the occasion
depending on the draw we get.
My concerns are we dont have a natural leader on the park now that Fergusons away and we will have a 40 year old playing at the back for us most games at home and in Europe
I know this post is a bit negative sounding but its just my view that if we get injurys or suspensions then we could be in trouble if it comes 24.01 on the 31/08/2009 and we havent
signed a single soul then it could be a tough season ahead.
