  1. It's mad how the ref can just decide that because it's only attempted murder, it's fine.
  2. This is the thing. The whole point of VAR is that it makes all decisions "letter of the law" decisions. In earlier days that would be soft, now it's a clear pen.
  3. Been in my own world and somehow hadn't heard the news. Absolutely gutted. What a good bloke. Incredible work on the fundraiser, everyone.
  4. I have seen it, because my dipshit brother sent it to me without warning, and this was exactly my impression of what happened. A freak accident that he couldn't have done on purpose if he tried.
  5. "Shades of Beckham"? It's probably the best Rangers goal since Cooper v Celtic. Beckham's wasn't the best Man Utd goal of that season.
  6. The classic "daft football quote" is quirky, makes a kind of sense, but sounds a bit wrong. Every Michael Owen quote, by contrast, shows that he is thick as shit.
  7. The fact that Ferguson chucked him for calling himself the guvnor always cracks me up. Have never seen any player clowned so brutally before or since than Ince was by Dejan Savicevic in the super cup in 1991.
  8. Two french words in one sentence from Big Ron? Poof.
  9. One thing that is clear from the interviews of his Real teammates is that they loved him then and now, despite being global superstars who wouldn't have been impressed by his fame. Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo in particular seem like great blokes who thought he was well worthy of his place in the team.
  10. So what? The Lancers don't use the Totenkopf, and specifically this design borrowed directly from the SS. Everyone involved should have been kicked physically out of the stadium, preferably by the armed forces personnel in attendance, to whom this is an outrageous insult.
  11. I remember reading an interview with Owen Hargreaves where he said that Effenberg was extremely hard on him as a young player, but then he would go out and do press conferences where he would take all the flak for Hargreaves or anyone else who was underperforming, and that's the kind of captain Hargreaves wanted.
  12. Amazingly, out of the two, only the kind, classy and gentlemanly Stefan Edberg has killed a man, not the fierce, malignant Stefan Effenberg.
  13. Loved him. If he had a better world cup in 1994 he probably would have a much better historical reputation, because he was easily one of the top forwards in Serie A during its strongest era.
  14. I was two. I met Red Star's goalkeeper, Stojanovic, a few years back at their stadium, and when I told him I was two when they beat us he looked very sad.
  15. Stefan Effenberg probably should have been a Ballon d'Or winner, and was easily worthy of it in 2000/01, but was such a cunt to fans, teammates, managers and press alike that he had no chance.
  16. The pass he played in behind our defence for a John Brown own goal in 1990 is one of the best passes I have ever seen in my life. A genius.
  17. Just seen someone on Twitter describing him as a "rare genuine example of virtue signalling". That's perfect. He should be in the dictionary definition.
  18. This interview is the worst thing he could have done. I went from thinking he was just greedy to thinking he's greedy, thick as shit, a total arsehole and a liar.
  19. What way is it that he wants to play? Stodgy, disjointed, losing football?
  20. Doesn't have to be a claim about some big conspiracy to say "that was not a foul, and the goal should have stood".
  21. They're so fucking shite. It's an absolute disgrace that we're not beating them. Embarrassing.
