    Prior to VAR though, the linesman would just keep his flag down, knowing there was no interference, and everyone would get to enjoy the moment.

    Or chop it off wrongly but either way you wouldn't be running round the living room shouting get it fucking up yees only to feel gutted when it chopped off. Otoh I celebrated the goal then celebrated the VAR decision

    McCausland got done out of a penalty for staying on his feet earlier in the season. Was it the OF game? I can't remember but it may have been.

    I'll tell you what I hate more than diving - not getting fouls because you stay on your feet. Refs incentivise diving by not applying the rules when a player tries to stay honest. My guess is, diving developed out of legit frustration and now it's just ingrained.
