  1. "Highly rated" but never trusted to be anything other than 3rd choice... at best. At 21 he should be either back-up or getting to fuck. Why do we have so many highly rated keepers who's path to the first team are blocked by players like Kelly who will never cut it at Rangers.
  2. Agreed. However the 5-1 game could at least be explained a little by the "not his players" excuse or the ludicrous "go down fighting" pish King was peddling last week. I feel any manager should not oversee a pumping like that in a derby match regardless of the playing staff. If you cant win, then dont lose, if you cant prevent defeat then limit the damage. Fucking terrible but this is where we are at ATM. Tonight is unforgivable. Pedro was shown up and found wanting. He will never recover from this as Rangers manager. IF he was to be sacked, which will never happen unless the fans group together and make a effort to get rid of him... where does that leave us? Seeking another manager, another transfer window, another clear out? Its getting worse that the tims during the 90s FFS. He might as well be left in place to see how the league season goes as there is no money to make further wholesale changes. AFTER 3 months look at it again and hopefully if it ain't working he will walk! However, if that is the case and Pedro's team is a domestic shambles then the problem is also with Stewart Robertson and whoever else thought appointing him was a good idea, boardroom changes required.
  3. I thought it was going to be Easter Road or Rugby Park if the clubs did not agree to Ibrox? Certain I heard Celtic were not willing to let out their dive.
  4. According to newspaper reports we are looking at Scott Arfield the former Falkirk midfielder. Arfield is a former Scotland under-21 and was linked with us a few years back under Walter but nothing came of it. A decent centre midfielder but I struggle to see where he fits in with Macleod, McCulloch, Black, Hutton, Peralta, Crawford, Law and some youths like Murdoch, all able to play in that role. Any thoughts???? http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield-town-fc/huddersfield-town-news/2013/06/14/glasgow-rangers-fc-trail-ex-huddersfield-town-man-scott-arfield-86081-33470677/ GLASGOW Rangers FC have ex-Huddersfield Town midfielder Scott Arfield on their radar. Sources close to Glasgow Rangers FC suggest the 24-year-old former Falkirk man, released at the end of last season, is wanted by Scotland’s fallen giants. Rangers FC boss Ally McCoist is building for a Scottish Second Division title challenge after leading the Gers to last season’s Division III title. The financial meltdown of the Glasgow club – Scottish champions a record 54 times – meant they were dumped in the basement division this time last year. They began their attempted climb back to the top by winning the championship by a 24-point margin from Peterhead. Arfield, a former Scotland Under 21 and B international, played in the Scottish Premier League with Falkirk before his three seasons at Town. Signed for £400,000 when Lee Clark was in charge, he played 119 times, scoring nine goals, but made only 13 starts, and 13 substitute appearances last season. He was released alongside utility man Tom Clarke, who has joined Preston, and striker Alan Lee, who is being linked with Crawley, Notts County and Tranmere. Coventry, bossed by Arfield’s former Falkirk manager Steven Pressley, are also said to like the Livingston-born player. While Rangers are in Division II, they still offer the chance of playing in front of regular 45,000-plus attendances. Already recruited for next season are strikers Jon Daly, from Dundee United, and Nicky Clark, from Queen of the South, while Honduras international midfielder Arnold Peralta will join subject to a work permit being granted. Dundee United have signed Queen’s Park winger Aidan Connolly, who was said to be interesting Town. 5. Face it gents, the only players who are likely to leave this summer are Alexander, Cole and Hemmings who are all out of contract. Argyriou, Cribari and Hutton are contracted until summer 2014 and the rest are on longer deals.
  6. ...What did Kal Naismith do last year to earn a new contract?????????????
  7. There will be a lot of bitching this summer without any agreement or something will be agreed upon just before the fixtures are due and case every club a pre-season fucking nightmare. Scottish football chairman and officials - a shower of useless halfwit see you next Tuesdays...
  8. McCoist is not the problem as much as its the players. His signings have been poor, granted. Cribari is a nightmare, Kyle has a sick note, Argyriou is not suited to British football although there is a player there. Black and Shiels have not turned up at times. Sandaza has not turned up at all. Most players lack the desire to pump these teams. Some are even out of their depth at this level (Kal Naismith). It really annoys me as a shareholder to see the second highest wage bill in Scotland and the shit returns we are getting from it. This was supposed to be a chance to rebuild but the foundations are not yet in place. McCoist please start dropping the duds and giving the youth a chance especially at Ibrox, play players in their actual positions and don't have two SPL standard goalkeepers for fuck sake - that would be a horrendous waste of money.
  9. Blackthorn is not the most prestigious sponsor but it will be good money and also it gives us an alternative Cider (if you wanted one).
  10. Totally agree, the big fell should be in charge of that defence and getting amongst the Div 3 strikers. I just don't think he has the stomach for the lower leagues and I'm not overly convinced he has the talent for the SPL.

  12. He won't get that much better wages anywhere else, £10k a week is very good going for his services.
  13. I just don't think we are getting value for money from the experienced players, Cribari, the Greek, Shiels, Sandaza, Black, Kyle... in years gone by these players would not have got anywhere near Rangers let alone being considered an automatic first pick. As for the younger players from the youth set up, for every McKay and Macleod we have a Perry and a Naismith. Lets face facts, if we were still in the SPL the only young players that would get near the first team would be the fore mentioned McKay and Macleod. Perry, Hegarty, Naismith are not Rangers or SPL class, Hutton has found his level in Div 1 and Cole/Hemmings may never actually reach anywhere near thier potential.
