  1. Maybe - but he has been hitting the right key with me since I joined with the site - with the quality of posts straight from the heart. Oh - too much Oprah! Get to the pub forthwith! Why is it too much ? To acknowledge a fellow posters contribution to the site ? I've tried my very hardest to be civil to you this evening Bauba...but I draw the line at your attempts to bully Minstral from an intellectual perspective. You corrected him regarding his spelling and he was both man enough and honest enough to issue in full view of the rest of the board a sincere and genuine apology and to acknowledge his shortcomings. And despite that....you continue to try to mock him. That quite simply is beneath contempt. im amazed you and minstral still watse your time on THAT D'a. :smo:
  2. Sorry mate, that wasn't directed at you personally but some of the other posters in this thread (and beyond)... :beer2:
  3. The fanbase was already as swollen as it could arguably get - we had just won 9iar! Did SDM increase the capacity of Ibrox to better Celtic's 60,000 stadium? Did he say in the late 90s after several poor attempts in the CL, buying big name players doesn't really work on it's own, let's build a youth academy to make the most of the future? Did he say, bloody hell; some of these expensive signings are letting us down, let's work on our scouting system? Did he say, the fans have been brilliant over the last 120 years, let's give them a genuine say in how the club is run? While, SDM may have shared the ambitions of the fans there was no real vision or direction in our investments. It was buy, buy, buy without any genuine thought in how we were spending the money. There was no real investigation into how we could have cemented our then successes into long term dominance and/or future safeguards. I'm amazed that some people in their haste to absolve Murray of any harsh criticism are preferring to blame the fans for not investing while failing to see the most obvious of faults with our past strategies. lol.points taken frankie. strange paragraph at the end though as nowhere did i absolve murray from critisism or blame the fans :smo:
  4. It's an interesting point but one doesn't spend £100million just in case something might happen. If the Old Firm were to be invited to some external league then they'd be invited for their overall package (stadia, turnover, fans, history, successes) not because they had a few decent players. As such, the time to spend £100million was once we were securely in any new league - not beforehand. true wasnt the right time to spend like that but didnt mean just by buying the players, surely with the class of player being bought he would have expected them to bring more success, which in turn helps the fanbase swell(glory hunters), helping turnover and ultimately making us more attractive if these leagues came about.. :smo:
  5. Everyone has their own opinions about the debt and mismanagement of the club, theres always been a lot of talk about european leagues and joining the premiership ,could it be that murray was gambling spending millions on good well known players in the hope of making us more attractive in terms of participating or being invited to participate in these leagues. : Not in anyway condoning the mess he's got us into but its another angle to look at this :smo:
  6. best thread ive seen yet on any forum, the time its taken to read it has been like a good book with twists and turns and i take my hat off to some posters for their contribution , but at the same time this thread disappointed me for if as many of you believe their is a "destroy Rangers " agenda at work in the media then as bears we are not helping ourselves with the constant infighting, its classic devide and conquer and its happening right before your eyes. I also find it strange in these days when tolerance is preached for all, that its mainly the younger generation of bears who seem to show no tolerance for older bears percieved/true beliefs of what are Rangers protestant traditions. :beer2:
