  1. Am I missing something? We did win didn't we? That wasn't just my imagination?

Yes but while we are top of the league and have only lost twice all season in every competition we aren't steam-rolling teams 4 or 5-0 every week. It doesn't matter that we have a tiny squad and loads of games we are "The Rangers" and should romp it every week. <cr> <cr>

As i type this the Tims have just conceded - 3pts clear and playing shite. :crabflute:

  2. Outside of the likes of Barcelona any title winning season usually involves 1 good performance in 4 games. Given the paucity of the squad im elated to be ahead at this point in the season given the extra games we have had in Europe. Jelavic will be back soon and we'll be back to 1 game per week most weeks soon.

Smith does need to rotate a wee bit more though. Ness and Wylde need to start a few games to give us a bit of freshness.

  3. Another win from the same 14 players as usual. The job at hand until the CL games are over is stay ahead of Celtic. Once the games even out and we aren't playing 3 times every week with the same (ish) 14 players then we'll see the performances improve.

Job done today. In case anybody forgot we've the small matter of playing Man Utd on Wednesday night.

  4. Some fans might not agree but I really wouldn't like to see a Man City style mega takeover. I don't see it as viable long-term and it means as a club you're always reliant on a sugar daddy. The way forward in my eyes is for someone to buy the club at a reasonable price, pay off the debt and continue on a stable path. All we really need is the ability to offer long term deals to our key players and be able to buy a couple of players each season (£4/5m budget).

With the right business plan, some new money making ideas and a healthy youth element to our squad of 22 this should be achievable year on year - even only accounting for CL cash one in every 2 seasons say. Maintain a strong Scottish/British base to our playing staff, pick up the best Scottish talent at an early age and add the occasional promising young foreigner. Sell the odd player on to the EPL for a massive profit and repeat.

At least until we make it to some kind of Euro league with a decent TV purse.

  5. Whittaker did fine tonight in my eyes. One of our only 2 real threats going forward as well (Naismith).

Im pretty disappointed that after a good effort at the CL so far this season the whipping boy pish is out. With a wee bit of luck tonight we would have gone 1-0 up and totally different game. Even then after we didn't play as well as we have (against a team packed with some excellent Spanish internationals) we should have taken it to 2-1 with 10mins left.

Bursapor have spent £100m in 3 seasons and haven't managed a goal yet for 9 conceded. What we have done with a first team pool of 15 and only 3 signings in 3 seasons is fucking tremendous.

  6. Sorry guys was trying to find the blog of the pro- Rangers journalist. I think it's David Leggat but can't find anything - can anyone point me in right direction?

He did the articles on why H** is offensive and the Lloyds Bank celtic fan.

  7. Jesus Christ - lets give the guy a few games fully fit before we go leaping to wild assumptions. I think he will do a very good job for us - particularly Dec-Feb time when the pitches are poor and we need strength up front.

  8. Yes fans should go to every game in principal but in the real world and with the economy still rocky people have to make choices on what game to attend. After shelling out £400-500 for an ST many people aren't in the financial position to buy all 3 games. They then have to make a decision on which of the 3 games to attend and the glam ones will usually win out.

I think Rangers have got the pricing wrong again. 40,000 at £100 = is £4m gate money. 45,000 at £100 is £4.5m. 50,000 at £90 is also £4.5m, at £85 it's 4.25m. When you take into account 10,000 extra people buying merchandise and food etc the difference isnt that great anyway.

A full Ibrox gives us a much better chance of getting a result. That £15 per 3 match package would make a big difference to a lot of people. It would also mean you could sell Bursaspor singles for under £30. When you consider it's £300k for a draw and £600k for a win and an extra £3m prize money for the last 16 then it seems daft to handicap our chances through not selling the stadium out (plua £1.5m gate money for a last 16 game).

By pricing out some of our more vocal fans (ie enthusiastic youngsters to dafties) we are also hindering the atmosphere and reducing our chances of qualifying. CL nights were histoircally good as not every ST took up there tickets meaning we'd have pockets of guys just in for those games and not afraid to sing or stand and bounce.

  9. Yes it will.

If more Rangers fans switch over to another station or simply didn't bother with that crap then listening figures would fall and heads would roll.

Bauer media need to be told about this imbalance.

No use getting your knickers in a twist on here then going back to listening to it every night.

Doing nothing means the owners think nothing is wrong and pricks like Delahunt will continue with their one sided viewpoint.

Here here. If you feel thne need to listen to any phone in then listen to the Real Radio one. At least Cameron has defended Gers and the fans on numerous ocassions. Also much better balanced bullshit than the Clyde form of bullshit.
