  1. I'd go with Sterling in midfield, he needs to be starting games in CM ahead of the OF game.
  2. We need to be clinical, and take our chances on Sunday...I thought we were the better side in the New Year game, the only difference was they were more clinical in front of goal. I have nightmares of Dessers missing a open goal to win us the game 🙈
  3. Really hope Ridvan makes it...I don't like the idea of Sterling playing wide right, I'd put him on McGregor and give Diomande licence to get forward a bit more. A striker aside, we do have some depth in the front 3 positions, so we've got options and expect we will make changes second half (also with Dundee in mind).
  4. I'd like to see Sterling in the middle, alongside Lundstrum, with Diomande slightly ahead of them. Then a forward 3 of Sima, Dessers and Cantwell. Think we need some pace in the forward 3, so if Sima isn't quite ready I can see Wright or Matondo starting. Think it's a coin toss between Cantwell and Lawrence.
  5. They'll give us chances...just whether we take them. I fancy Sima and Dessers to score. They are not the same team as last season, no Carter-Vickers, no Hatate and Kyogo misfiring....Whilst we're thread bare due to injuries, we're going into this as the form team with nothing to lose (Rodgers can't lose this)
  6. Whoever we get is going to have a difficult job stopping them winning the league in the next few years. We've royally fucked things up with Beale this season, and it's even more frustrating as this celtic team aren't great...but they likely will get better next season, with more money from the champs league each season. Our recruitment over the last few years has been a shambles
  7. Anyone got a decent link to a streak for the Usyk v Dubois?
  8. It's clear Joshua is a more hesitant fighter now since his loss to Ruiz, I struggle to see how he beats Wilder. Wilder will be swinging windmills in his unorthodox style and the chances are one will connect with Joshua's chin and then he's in trouble. His only hope is he's able to weather a storm, like Fury did, and get on top of a tired Wilder and KO him - should be a entertaining fight.
  9. Anyone got a link for the Joyce v Zhang fight?
  10. I don't think we're far behind them, altho summer transfer business is cruicial - not just what we do in the market but what they do as well. Hampden semi final will be a 50/50 game, we can't afford to gift them silly goals.
  11. Those stats are hard to ignore. Not sure how long he's under contract for but at £3m he'd be worth a go and could surely get him on less wages than Kent and Morelos.
  12. He just doesn’t produce enough, time for him and Morelos to move on.
  13. We need to stamp our mark on this game early, we know they'll try and get out the traps quickly - so we need to be able to keep the ball and make the ball stick when it goes up field. Hopefully Raskin makes it, as I think he could make a big difference.
  14. Plenty of time to prepare for the semi, Cantwell and Raskin should be fully up to speed and maybe have Yilmaz and dare i say it Soutar in contention for places. Need to wrap Jack in cotton wool in the lead up to this!
  15. It's clear we need to refresh our squad and add further quality, particularly in midfield and forward areas, plus find a new long term no1. Beale talks very well, however I do wonder if he over thinks things. He touts himself as a real football man, who knows the game and is a tactician, but my worry is that he's still a relative novice and could prove to out of his depth. He was obviously a part of 55, but he doesn't half go on about it and talk it up...For all we know Gary Mac might have had a bigger influence than he did (altho doubt that). He then followed Gerrard to Villa, who had an upturn in results (new manager bounce?). He then took up the manager job at Qpr and had a good run of results, but they were on a bad run by the time he came to us. In short, Beale hasn't got any managerial track record to talk of, the summer transfer window will be massive for him, he won't get long to get things right next season.
  16. I prob wouldn't want both Raskin and Cantwell making their OF debuts, would prob go with Raskin and Cantwell on the bench. I can see Beale wanting to keep them guessing with his line-up, and potentially throwing in a curve-ball. If all fit, midfield 3 will be lundstrum, Raskin and Tillman. Think Roofe might start in place of Alfie, with Kent and Sakala making up the front 3.
  17. My team for Monday: McGregor Tav Goldson Davies Borna Kamara Lundstrum Tillman Sakala Kent Alfie I'd go with this line up with a view to going out on the front foot. Would need a shift from Tillman to ensure we're not overrun in the middle, but he's a game changer - so needs to be in. Debated putting Arfield on but he's prob better off the bench, same with Jack who can steady the ship if/when needed. We might as well go for broke, I'd rather go for it rather than try and stay in the game, so this line up doesn't leave much firepower off the bench - but might as well have it on the pitch.
  18. I would take Tillman for £4.5, even though it feels abit steep I think we could get £10m for him in 2 years. Sands I'd prob go to a max of £3m. We obv need to offload some players to free up wages, if we get any bids for Kamara of around £5m+ then think we'd need to take that. Might be more valuable to us letting Morelos and/or Kent running down their contracts and leaving on a free, inatead of a low transfer fee - I guess £3m would be good for either of them (altho not sure if realistic).
  19. Didn't realise his injury record was as bad as that!
  20. Can't believe how incredibly unlucky we've been with injuries this season...Maybe its not down to being unlucky, and training regime has something to do with it - we'll never know. Sounds like Helander's injury is a freak one, along with Hagi's...Goldson also unlucky the way he got injured. Roofe is the one that frustrates me, he's obviously got lots of ability but is prob one of the most injury prone players I've ever known.
  21. It seems like Gio is on borrowed time now with fans, I can see us beating Hearts then losing against St Mirren which will he the final nail. The bigger problem for me is Ross Wilson, our recruitment compared to celtic's in the last 18 months has been abysmal. Letting the contracts of Kent and Morelos run down, so they'll go for nothing or peanuts is criminal.
  22. I do feel for him a bit, he had the luxury of time with us - you just don't get that in the EPL. He delivered us 55 and took a gamble going to Villa which hasn't paid off - he'll struggle to get another decent job. Meanwhile Beale is flying at Qpr, it will be interesting to see how far he goes.
  23. Its difficult to judge Barasic, particularly tonight when watching on tv...its ok saying he's negative and passing backwards but if there's fuck all on to pass to then he has no option...obviously on tv can't see if there's an option forward. I just think tonight it was levels and Goldson going off that cost us.
  24. Getting to the Europa league final glossed over a lot. The fact we've got a 40 yr old GK and a midfield of Lundstrum, Jack and Arfield trying to compete in champions league says it all - they looked pedestrian which is no disrespect they're just not at that level.
