  1. Excellent signing for us. Strong rumours that Dempsey is next through the door
  2. 1. Chelsea 2. City 3. Man Utd 4. Arsenal 18. Villa 19. Southampton 20. Reading
  3. Shame really, he's an excellent goalie. I just wish he discussed the new contract we offered rather then refusing to take a pay cut
  4. We've probably paid over the odds, but the initial downpayment is only £8m. If he scores 10+ goals it will be money well spent
  5. That’s utter bollocks like. If I'm honest, the vast majority of Sunderland/Newcastle fans have little or no interest in the old firm. Even during the height of our Irish ownership, you didn't see any celtic tops in or around the Stadium of Light. If I had to allocate an old firm club to Sunderland and Newcastle; then given Sunderland's 'connections' to the chaos in Dublin in 95' and the chanting that followed over the years (which I’m not defending btw) and the fact 3 or 4 bus loads of geordies leave the Irish club over the road from the Sports Direct for the Giro Dome every other Saturday, I'd probably say Sunderland was more Rangers then Celtic (plus Rangers always poll ahead of Celtic in the 2nd team part of the end of season survey's in the local press )
  6. Ally still loves us though :-) In fact, both super Ally and his family were regulars at Sunderland right up till he came back to Rangers (At one stage he even had a season ticket)
  7. Cheers bud. I'm defo interested. Who do I contact to book seats?
  8. Hi mate, where's the pick up in Sunderland? Normally I just get the train, but I'd be defo interested
  9. Just got booked up for York in august. Fingers crossed, Frankel runs
  10. What's wrong with liking - and betting on - horse's???
  11. More then likely mate. I actually think Sky will be very keen to work closely with BT
  12. Last week I was told to put money on Redknapp being the next Prem manager out of the door (which I did). I was also told to put a small amount of money on Alan Pardew becoming Spurs new manager (got 80/1). Apparently, Mike Ashley has finally got a buyer for Newcastle, and for the last few weeks has been bidding to buy Spurs. His initial offer of 350m was turned down This is the apparent reason why 'arry wasn't offered a new contract.
  13. Nope, they have no prem football. However given the fact they are backed by Disney, they won't disappear. I expect them to bid - and probably win - the rights to the NFL and possibly La Liga. Plus they will be sniffing around the Football League and maybe the SPL when those contracts come up. They will however have to reduce the subscription cost to maybe £6 per month. Very few would pay £10+ per month for the NFL etc. In a strange way though, if you love sport, I think its fair to say with Sky, ESPN and now BT, pretty much everything will now be covered - although sadly we will all be ripped off.
  14. You have to remember, on top of this new deal the foreign contract will also start to be renegotiated. It wouldn't surprise me, if by the time all the contracts are sorted, the team finishing bottom of the league will claim close to 60m (plus parachute payments of around 20m per year for three season's)
  15. What an awful, awful documentary. The whole thing was cheap and nothing but a dig at Rangers.
