Turnberry18 got a reaction from Dickie1963 in Alex Lowry
Great player in the making; his goal against Hearts was exceptional, and he is, it has to be remembered, coming back from an injury. Given time and patience, Lowry will be a star for Rangers.

Turnberry18 reacted to Real Ranger in Annual accounts are out
For me the biggest issue has came from a horrendous injury list especially in midfield.
I’ve said it a few times on here, if we had a fully fit midfield with players such as Jack, Hagi, Lawrence, Kamara as well as Laundstram who has been playing by taking pain killing injections we wouldn’t be slaughtering the board.
I’m no expert on finances but on the face of it we’re heading in the right direction

Jim McAllister, he was being moulded into the position for the past 18 months.
Ex pro footballer, played for Greenock Morton and few others, born and bred bluenose.
Fairplay to him.

433 with Kent given a free role behind the striker and 2 decent wingers brought in

Literally anything that isn’t what we keep playing just now.
Imagine a footballing system that could win a lot of games and entertain the fans at the same time, sign me up for some of that.

Turnberry18 reacted to bluenoz in What formation would you like to see us play?
A 3-5-2 suits our players but only if Tav & Borna are in form.
I prefer a 4-1-2-3 when playing league games.

Do you not think Rogers celtic team were better than what they have just now and with Gerrard at the helm we got the better of them eventually.

The cup record wasn’t good enough however we won the trophy that mattered most and performed well in Europe restoring our reputation and raising finances, do you not agree?

It's interesting what may be going on right now, if indeed the board are considering a change of manager; for instance, Brian Laudrup's latest comments on this could be revealing as to what is possibly happening. Laudrup raises two points that may be significant at the moment: firstly, the board have to consider the figure it will cost in the dismissal of the present manager; more importantly, though, according to Laudrup, the board have to be sure of a replacement, and getting the right person in. Suppose Laudrup is accurate in how he sees this situation, as it stands right now, does the apparent delay in any decision indicate uncertainty over who a replacement should be? Reading this forum again, and other forums is interesting right now, because there seems to be an almost unanimous agreement that there should be change of manager; what isn't as unanimous though, is who the new manager should be. Sacking a manager is one thing, but as everyone here will appreciate, the replacement is equally as crucial, and one that the board really do have to get right.

I don't know how anyone can watch that and think negatively of him.
He clearly loves the club and couldn't speak more highly of it. Yeah he comes across a little bit arrogant at times, but I don't mind that.
I think it also shows just how much these guys ran the club, whereas I feel like Gio and team are just coaching staff.
I don't expect him to be our next manager given he turned down Wolves not long ago, but I would welcome him back in the future.

I don't really do the Forum anymore, but I had to say that I am very sad at the passing of ED. I never met him apart from on here, but we would PM sometimes; he was very nice guy. I heard purely by chance yesterday, and I have been down about this since then. My condolences to his family.

Turnberry18 reacted to backup in ED, a face to the name
Before there was such a thing as agents big Tam used to do many of The Rangers players finances like pensions and investments, he counted many of them as good friends, whom he socialised with down through the years...he wasn’t averse to a bit name dropping about it either ?

Turnberry18 reacted to backup in ED, a face to the name
Thought posters might like to put a face to the name, checked if it was okay to do so, it is.
Something most won’t know about ED is that he was at N’castle after leaving school, he was offered terms but his mother decided he was getting a real job in the bank.
He was a big lump of a lad even then, typical battering ram centre forward of that era and skill to go with it, who knows what could have been, hope you like the fotie from last year, keep rockin’ big chap ?

We are sometimes in danger of losing touch with the whole history of the club, and sticking to our own generation when we evaluate who the best 11 were etc. There is just so many great players who played for Rangers that it can be a pointless exercise ever imagining who were the best ever 11.
