  1. Pretty much exactly how I see it playing out. They can't risk playing him today or afford to have a player with value sitting there doing nothing or playing with the kids.
  2. But equally he sees McCulloch playing in matches yet still perseveres with him. He also sees players like Jelavic and Davis in games not performing as they can yet their positions are guaranteed every week. Why not show these players that they have competition? I concede that what happens in training will have an impact on team selection but surely performance on the park should too. As you can see I have not asked for Ally to be removed as manager because I don't think that is the answer, certainly not at this point of the season. I do wish though that he would turn around and say, "You, you and you haven't been pulling your weight recently, it's time for a change and you, you and you are going to get a chance to show me what you can do". It's a risk but it might just pay off and to be honest we have been rotten recently, could it get much worse. As I mentioned above though I really hope that he has a clear the air talk like 2 years ago. That spurred us on to winning the league and I'm sure that when the players get things off their chests and the management team take the point on board that 4 in a row will be here come May.
  3. I stand corrected sir. It still doesn't weaken my argument though. Players outwith the ones being shoehorned in must be getting pissed off because the decisions to play these players is affecting overall team performance and I'd suggest team moral too going by recent results.
  4. I accept that he is going to make mistakes and to be honest I expected him to but at the moment he doesn't seem to be learning from them. McCulloch in particular. As for the 4 boys you mentioned above, Ortiz aside, none of them have been given a proper chance to show what they can do in a game. McKay has had 2 appearances in the SPL, neither in his natural position of LCM. Bendiksen has had one start and to be fair he wasn't the worst on the park that day. Fleck, well he has flattered to deceive for almost 3 years now and I honestly can't remember the last start he had. Out of the 3 there I'd say that I am most disappointed at McKay not getting a run of games at LCM. I've not seen much of him but have spoken to Charlie Miller about him at length and he does sound like a player who would compliment Davis really well at CM. Unfortunately though we only have space for one non defensive midfielder. In fact, the way that Davis has been playing of late it may not be such a bad idea to rest him and play McKay in his place and give him a chance to show what he can do with a run of games. After all you don't win Australia's player of the year award by being shite.
  5. That is a fair point and I'll concede that to you but why play McCulloch and Papac in that midfield the other night when we could have had McKay and Wylde for example. 2 players who's natural positions just happen to be LCM and LM. It would have been a much more attacking and dynamic midfield capable of supplying the forwards, creating more chances and maybe chipping in with a few shots on goal themselves. And it's not just confined to that match but for weeks we've had a midfield incapable of getting forward and keeping a hold of the ball. He's been fielding a team recently that looks as if we are decimated with injuries with the amount of out of position players on the park when in reality our only real injury problem is Naismith. Surely this has to have unsettled the squad when players are seeing certain players getting played ahead of them and not performing or as I mentioned earlier playing alongside these players. Fair enough if said players were making an impact but they aren't. And it's not just out of position players I'm talking about. Davis for one needs hooked and possibly Jelavic too. Both have underperformed of late and they seem to think that they are irreplaceable. That should not be the case. If you don't perform then you don't play. I don't play football but if I was a pro player and wasn't getting a game because my position was being filled with either a player who was out of position or underperforming I don't think that I'd be very happy to say the least.
  6. Sorry mate but going through a bad patch would be acceptable but this is more than that. A bad patch would be playing the best players in their best positions and not getting results. That's not happening here. Players are being shoehorned into positions unfamiliar to them whilst capable players who play those positions are being left out, not just from the team but also the matchday squad. This is the reason that we are not winning on the day but I suggest that it may have a deeper impact and that certain players on the pitch are not trying their best because they see that the manager isn't trying his best. Like everyone else my thoughts on this are only based on my personal opinion. Let me ask you this. Say you're Steve Davis for example. Would you be happy at having to carry the midfield because you're partnered with McCulloch and have Papac out on the left when there are far more dynamic players in the squad not even getting on the bench? Or Jelavic for example not getting decent service but instead getting the ball humped up to him all the time. Why bother trying your arse when the manager isn't giving you the support that you need on the pitch? Now if a decent midfield 4 were playing more dynamic football they probably would supply the forward(s) much better and be able to support them more. But no, we have a midfield who includes a 33 year old utility player and a CB who has had to content himself playing at LB for his Ibrox career. This in my opinion not only marginalises the players being left out but also the players who have to carry the makeweights too. I love Ally, I always will, even if his managerial career is a failure but I feel that because of some of his decisions he is losing the confidence of the players in his charge.
  7. Who is being defeatist? There are clearly problems at the club other than the much publicised financial ones and I opened this topic to debate a possible reason for troubles on the pitch and possibly off it too. Is it much better to stick your head in the sand and ignore what has been happening over the last two months in the league. Similar tactics and team selection are the reason that we didn't have European football this season. Now it could be the root of our problems in the league too. The thread title was quite clear about what the content was going to be so I'd be inclined NOT to open it if I thought that I wouldn't like the content. Just a suggestion mate.
  8. If you re read the question in my initial post then, YES, everyone can answer the question. I asked "Is it possible that Ally has lost the dressing room?" I'm looking for opinions not definitive answers.
  9. And that must be on the players minds too. They must be thinking, how the bell can he think everything is fine when it clearly isn't. Maybe its time for clear the air talks like we had 2 years ago around this time of the year. It worked back then. But Ally, if you're reading this, do it soon before we lose any more players please.
  10. This is pretty much what I was thinking although slightly different. Guys like Davis, Jelavic and co must be thinking "why the fuck should I even bother trying when the boss can't pick the best team available to him and decides to play his mates instead".
  11. With his tactics and team selection of late I have to agree but I did say that I didn't want this to turn into an Ally bashing thread. It's a serious question. Do we think he has lost the dressing room?
  12. First off I know that a few of you may be thinking "taig" because I'm not a regular poster on here but a few may know me from followfollow and I assure you that I'm not. Anyway, back to my reason for starting this thread. Is it possible that Ally has lost the dressing room? My reasons for thinking this are that we have so many stars under performing at the moment. That coupled with his decisions to play his mates out of position just to find them a place in the team and his refusal to play certain players who would fit into certain positions better than Ally's current crop of favourites. Most on this board would agree with me that on occasions, Ally's selection and tactics have been questionable. If we are seeing it the surely the players must be seeing it too. And remember a lot of the current squad I don't want this to turn into an Ally bashing thread but even a blind man can see that there is just something that isn't right with The Rangers at the moment and I thought I'd throw something in there that I haven't seen discussed yet.
  13. That was quality thread mate. Think everyone who read it was in sympathy with you Women are a strange sort of beast. Well at least you now have your own personal toilet like Al Bundy now. I'm shocked they gave you a lifer over there but then again I'm not. They can sometimes be ban happy depending the mood they are in. I've been a member here for over a year now but not visited as often as I should really. It's a good forum though. Though I sometimes get confused with the layout.
  14. I remember that thread well mate. Did you not beat your record at flick football? Surely you remember me then. Dr stonedandhappy. I was the one that posted all the info on food poisoning.
  15. Fair enough. I apologise. I remember some of your posts and although I didn't always agree with what you said I never thought you were a taig. I thought that you were the guy who started the thread saying that CW had signed the deal but they were waiting for a few weeks to announce it. He was outed as being an orc and I put 2 & 2 together and got 5. Apology's again. I can't vouch for you personally but IMO from what I have read of your posts on FF you are no taig. I'll still reserve my judgement regarding the takeover, sorry, been let down too often lately but if you are right you can cut the slice of humble pie for me.
