After such a good start to his Rangers career I'd say on recent form he's dropped to 4th choice.
Would probably benefit from McAuley's experience beside him on the park, as well as in training.

His kicking puts us under pressure but he's making up for it by single handedly keeping us in games at times.

He's quick enough to chop and change the starting lineup for no good reason, yet seems to be the polar opposite when it comes to making changes during a game. I just don't get it.

Did nothing to change things when it was clear Flanagan was getting raped every time they attacked his side of the pitch, or when Coulibally yet again was running through treacle after 25 minutes, or when Ejaria decided that because his mate Kent wasn't playing tonight he wasn't going to bother trying to pass to a blue jersey at all.
Huge opportunity missed tonight against as poor a defence as you'll see at this level, other than ours.
I really don't want to hear in his post match interview about how they're going to learn from this, it's clear that lessons are just not being learned and it's a real worry now.

Gerrard used to regularly smash in long range goals, I'm amazed that he hasn't brought in a player who can do the same.
Look at the taigs against Hearts, two shots from outside the box against a packed defence, both should have been saved but led to goals. Yesterday again our shooting from distance was a last resort and resulted in sclaffed miskicks ballooning into orbit.

Quite rightly and obviously, every other team treats corners and set pieces as a chance to score a goal and practice their routines and delivery until they get it right on a consistent basis.
For years now we've treated corners  and set pieces like an inconvenience and nothing more than a means of handing possession back to the opposition as quickly as possible, so we can get on with the important stuff like building attacks from the back.

Yet another game where we could play all night and not look like scoring.
Yet another game where we do the same thing over and over again hoping a goal materialises out of the sideways passing and stepovers.
And yet another game where the manager is scared/unable/unwilling to change things until its too late.

More likely to recall Docherty in January.
And we also have Holt, Dodoo, Pena to call on... A real embarrasement of riches.

I'm not convinced he'll make much changes for the Killie game. Morelos back in Sadiq and maybe Coulibaly dropped for Arfield. I don't think he wants to drop Candeias as he gives cover for Tavernier, but I'd personally 'rest' him as far too often he gets into a good position and ruins in with a pitiful attempt at a cross.
Going to be another tough slog on Wednesday night as Clarke will have them set up to frustrate from the word go and if we don't score an early goal the game will go the same way as today.

Flanagan at left back is a massive contributing factor in our lack of attacking threat. Not his fault though, he's not going to suddenly turn into a marauding left back striding up and down the wing. Makes us very easy to defend against by doubling up on Kent and forcing us to play everything down the right hand side.
