  1. All kidding aside, I'm sure there are are few wealthy Rangers fans concerned right now. Only time will tell how concerned ?
  2. Greetin into his brandy. Wonder who shared a bottle with him the night ?
  3. "Murray is among those left distressed by the news " He'll no be able to sleep the night.
  4. I wonder if Liewell and auld Reid have been spending a lot of time chapping on back doors (naw no the obvious ones) ?? I put fuck all past them (race card getting played to the hilt).
  5. Don't see it already posted (maybe nobody interested). SWTS.sport.image.e Rangers: Former chairman David Murray expected to break silence on club’s turmoil Published on Tuesday 14 February 2012 02:52 SIR David Murray’s office phone will have been red hot yesterday as the former Rangers owner digested the stunning news from Ibrox Park. Murray, who sold the club for the token sum of £1 to Craig Whyte last May, always insisted he would place Rangers in the hands of a person he could trust to take it forward. During a complex and lengthy due diligence process Whyte and Murray met personally and remained in contact by telephone. When the deal was done, Murray was relieved that the club was placed in the hands of a Motherwell-born businessman who was a Rangers fan. He felt Whyte, a previously unheralded venture capitalist, had proved he had the means to re-calibrate the finances of the Ibrox club. Indeed, Whyte signed a document confirming that this was so and that he was able to clear Rangers’ debts. Following the news that Whyte intends to place the club in administration, the picture has changed. Murray is among those left distressed by the news, since it re-trains focus on his near-23 year reign and serves to also question his judgment. The former owner is understood to be set to break his silence on Whyte today. Whyte assured Murray that he would invest £5 million per season in the first team squad for the next five years. This was later placed in writing in a letter sent out to the club’s shareholders. By this time, however, existing board members had already gone on record with their doubts, including Alastair Johnston, the club’s then chairman. Whyte was livid at the comments, and sacked Johnston and chief executive Martin Bain, among others. Now is the time for Murray to have his say, an opinion which may be the most significant of all.
  6. Maybe he's going to send Whyte a shitload of Marlborough coupons to give the taxman.
  7. We can always tell them they have our vote the noo.
  8. Not a dig, just want to ask the VB if they think they were duped ?
  9. I couldn't give a fuck who of these jackals shafts who, as long as who we end up with has our interests at heart and is willing to take us forward to regain our place as Scotland's top club. Anything less they should fuck off.
  10. Think with Dundee the owner stepped aside and the fans chipped in enough to save the club (creditors got 6 pence in the pound). Wonder if we would have the same option, or could there be a benefit to Whyte if we were liquidated rather than admin ? Seems complicated, my heads full of wee motors.
  11. Any idea what would be the trigger that could push us past admin and into liquidation ? With Dundee it seemed pretty straight forward, points penalty and on your way.
  12. Looks like all we can do is keep the faith and hope his plans are for our benefit as well as his. What Bluepeter says about risking our wrath gives me a wee bit more confidence (I know I wouldn't chance it for any amount).
  13. If it came to Admin, could it be like Dundee (admin twice in 7 years), penalty points and our name left intact ?
  14. I'm following what you're saying and it makes sense. Was just hoping that if there was someone waiting in the wings, he could step in quick enough to keep our name intact and avoid penalty points (IF it ever came to that).
  15. That's one of the one's that's bothered me a lot, if he risked a ban for a hundred odd grand (if that was the amount)then what would he do for a couple of million say ? Not saying he is up to something with us, but want to know all our (or other potential buyers) options if we ever really think something is not right ??
  16. Thanks for the answer (even though it's not what I wanted to hear). So it would be up to Whyte to sell us, keep us, or take us all the way down.
  17. Not trying to shit stir (honest), but was his ban not for moving money out of a company before it was liquidated ? IIRC it was only about 160 grand, think it was in the last court thread
  18. Better bring a big battery and nipple clamps.
  19. Some who think they're "in the know", like to keep us who are not "in the know", hanging by the baws. Think it's a power thing.
  20. I've read a few posters saying that even if we win the tax case, or it's not as bad as it could be, Whyte may have plans to take us into Admin anyway ? If this was the case, could another party step in before Admin happened (one of them hostile takeovers or something) or could Whyte tell them to piss off ? Sorry if this has been asked before (I could not find), but it's been bothering me as I hate the thought of Admin (even though I don't know it's full implications) and hope we can avoid it by any means possible. No tarriers shit stirring on this one please.
