i hope he does retire at the club and hopefully his testimonial will be against one of Europe’s elite clubs for him as he deserves it.

That's not really a valid comparison though is it? The context of the investigations were significantly different, unless you deliberately omit details to suit your own agenda.
The investigation by Rangers and it's employee is an internal matter, and if there was homophobic language used then the player should be disciplined in accordance to whatever policies are in place. Other than perhaps communicating with the club he was on loan to at the time, internal disciplinary matters wouldn't normally be made public as is the case with almost all professions.
The DR 'investigation' however is a different kettle of fish. They're supposedly a news organisation, but instead of reporting the news they tried to create it by going out their way to find dirt on a competitor and put it on the front page to fan the flames of moral outrage. They did all this to line their pockets and justify their existence as 'journalists' - only to find many of their employees had just as much if not more dirt on them. As the instigator of the whole sorry episode and the self appointed torch bearers of morality, the DR DO have an obligation to report the findings of their investigation publicly, as their entire purpose is engagement with the public, and if they want the public trust then they'd have to trust the public in turn with the results.
As an aside, it's an appropriate indicator of the quality of their 'investigative journalism', if they don't have the intellect to check their own staff's online histories prior to shouting their mouths off about someone else's!
