Green is under no obligation to talk to anyone in the media. It's not his role and if you recall he left in part due to a series of disastrous performances in the media. He's a lot sharper in other areas than he is with the media. He overstepped again and McCoist correctly hammered him for it.

Would you agree that the club media are in a difficult position when people like Green are goading the manager into public fights by running to the papers the day after he's shoehorned back into another job? As you allude to, the issue isn't with the media guys it's with the club. If Green could keep his mouth shut them maybe this would have played out in private.

The press conference was reported on the club website. I've no idea why people are trying to target one employee over it, other than disagreements they've had with him on other topics. It's not like anyone from club media did an opinion piece slating Green. They reported accurately what the manager said. Clearly the decision was then taken to remove that and people can speculate on that all they like.

From recollection the Sun article also quotes Green as concerned at costs and wouldn't have let Ally sign players. Despite saying a few months back that he'd give him £10m....

It was from a press conference. It wasn't a statement to club media. Presumably they've decided to remove it but the rest of the press got it direct from Ally not from Andrew Dickson or anyone else at the club.
