Went to the London premier last night, the film is absolute class, great insight into what a modern professional goes through in his career, had the weight of the world on his shoulders but still came through it all. Fantastic that this man is at the helm of our club right now, he lives and breathes the game.

Danny Boyle was on the BBC earlier and highlighted two of the images, one being the Walter Tull image in Ayrshire.

I did mate, The official Rangers Ticket office gave me one when the other lads were picking up theirs, done me a turn big time ?? Saved me hunting for one and it was in the Rangers end.

I was in the town square most of the day and the atmosphere was fantastic, loads of local Maribor fans mixing with Bears and those not interested in the football were there taking photos & videos of fans having a sing song etc, the only trouble in the square is when some idiot Maribor casuals tried to enter to cause trouble, this was quickly contained and then there was nothing but good natured drinking and singing. As we walked to the game in the march you could tell the police were looking for an excuse, they were in huge numbers and to a man they were all in full riot gear, even as we walked to the game the locals were all clapping and taking videos, I was about midway down the crowd and I seen it all kick off, they just started spraying fans with gas and attacking them with batons, mostly when they were in trouble due to the gas, we realised the severity and just got against a building at the side of the road to try and avoid what was going on, it was shocking. What did become clear is they were pulling fans away and then fining them, most were being asked for hundreds of euros, one lad who my mate knew, paid 500 euros, he said another lad that could not pay was kept to go to court, they were basically asking fans how much money they had & if it was enough they got released. I’ve been to many games but i’ll Think twice about going to these Baltic countries were the police have no respect for anyone. British clubs should do more to speak out against this, I spoke to a mate last night who told me the exact same was happening when he went to Maribor with Liverpool last season, I don’t know the answer, maybe refuse to aid tickets and put money in to their economy until assurances are made. Hoping the injured bear gets better soon.
