  1. Perfect description of it.
  2. How many times can he keep saying it without changing anything about it?
  3. A bit of history to take away from todays lovely display of football. One of the Rangers pioneers, Tom Vallance frequently entered his dog "Tunias Broom" into canine competitions. A few years later, Vallance would also post flyers with regards to his dog having gone missing.
  4. I'd boast of our non religious background over their religious origins anyday Young gareloch lads wanting to play football and training their way to the top of the game, compared to a Catholic Priest illegally paying amateur players from Hibs to make money for "charity" (I've seen articles from 1890 questioning Celtics earnings in those earlier years, and where the money went).
  5. Football should be about football, nothing more.
  6. Epic opening post/thread that went well.
  7. If you believe so old friend I can't agree I'm afraid. We may have been well known for a protestant background post 1920's/Harland and Wolfe shipyards, but I was unaware of any protestant attachment to the team for 16 years growing up in England. Only 500 miles away. I don't agree with having religion at football. Everyone supports Rangers in their own way, and has their own beliefs, but I don't personally believe the football club should be attached to any religion.
  8. You cannot tell me that Faure is fit. Noone is THAT slow.
  9. The Rangers - started as a team for the love of football. Nothing to do with religion, fact.
  10. The founders mentioned how they wish they didn't have to go to church on Sunday, as to have another day for footballing practice. Pretty clear sign what they thought of it
  11. Totally agreed with the 'more training, less tweeting' poster.
  12. The football at Ibrox is much more shocking these days.
  13. We could have played any formation today and it wouldn't have made a difference. That being said, we should be playing with two strikers. We do not have the players to be playing anything else in my opinion, we aren't Barcelona or Real Madrid, we don't have a single goal poacher and 3 or 4 attacking flair midfielders who will contribute goals and assist the striker, so trying to replicate all these fancy teams will do nothing at the minute, unless they are coached and taught to play that way. Playing 4-5-1 at Ibrox against a part time team is nothing short of a disgrace.
  14. Just back from the game half an hour ago. Shocking. From front to back, absolutely shocking. Cribari, Faure, Hutton were the worst on the park. We had four players back marking Albion's one striker most of the time, and at times you could count 5 or 6 of our players in OUR half of the pitch whilst we were attacking. We were rigid, at one point wee McKay was down the right wing with the ball, and not a single player was in the box or the centre. Hutton and Faure were stood still, putting an arm up for the ball, rather than helping him out, or running into space. They don't play as a team, and have no technical ability or flair. Am I right in thinking we didn't actually have a shot on target? Unless you count the slow rolling ball towards their keeper by Wallace in the second half as a shot. Also, don't get me started on the constant slowing down of play, stopping with the ball and passing backwards rather than running into space/beating a man. Fucking shocking football from Rangers, and it appears to be getting worse week on week.
  15. Started the season fairly well, but has begun to disappear in games. Signed as a 'tough guy' for Division 3, no other reason. He's not even good at that. Should be moved on next year IMO, not Rangers standard.
  16. Totally agree Papa, we're missing the opportunity to totally change the way the club is run for the better for years to come. Youth, training, skill, scouting out decent young players from the unknown. My worry is, we are just going down the same route as before, especially if we bring back the likes of Boyd, Miller etc - which whilst would help boost us to the SPL, do we really want to be in the same position we were 4 years ago, in 4 years time? Walter Smith papered over the cracks. There were some great results, and great displays, but also a lot of poor poor displays football wise.
  17. I'd love for us to start a fresh and play some decent football. Today was like watching a Sunday League team, it really was. You'd accept the odd bad result if we played great football consistently. It wasn't JUST the result today, it was the manner in which we lost.
  18. It happens in American Football. They don't deserve a day off tomorrow after that. They should even be held back tonight till all hours to watch it and discuss as a team.
  19. He's still shite? In all seriousness, hope he's better, didn't quite see what happened to him. He missed a great chance to shoot, and after the scuffle was on the floor.
