  1. What fiasco? It's hardly beyond the realms of possibility that what he was accused of was true, but with a lack of evidence the case didn't proceed. This happens every single day (for all sorts of charges,) and in plenty of cases the crime was committed. In the eyes of the law you're innocent until proven guilty but that doesn't change what actually happened and only those involved ever truely know. I can't fathom how the legitimate investigation of an allegation can be deemed a fiasco.
  2. That how it works now? We're only allowed to sell a player if we can replace him with better or equal for the same money? If all clubs worked like that I don't think we'd get anywhere. Maybe we can spend more than we get for him on a better player, or maybe there's a free transfer out there, i'm not a scout though so I can't find him for you. I like Whittaker, he's useful in that he can play a few positions and he has moments of brilliance but there's usually some time between them and I think it's pretty sad that this player is being held up by so many fans as irreplaceable, and that it's accepted he's one of our best players. A guy of his quality should be a squad player with us, not a first pick, but then the alternative right back is Broadfoot so it's understandable people have got convinced that he's a top player.

I used to play it, had a very good Rangers team for some time but the league was stale (coz of people like me) I had 130 players in my squad and basically ran at a loss all the time.
  4. Was thinking of getting it specifically for that game. Seems a waste of money though, Game can be picked up for about a tenner but add in a starter pack and an extra move controller and it's like £70+ to play a game that probably isn't that good.
  5. Doesn't matter what they offer, he'd surely not go to Leicester, he wants a step up.
  6. He's probably talking about the u-17 World Cup final held at Hampden (other games were held at various stadiums including Pittodrie though) It's quite a well known one, and most people think they were a lot older, apparently they stayed at a hotel in Renfrew and some of them were at the bar all night, with ID's showing their true age (obviously taking advantage of being out of a country where alcohol is not allowed)
  7. He's from Paisley so with the season over it's not unreasonable that he's back visiting.
  8. Every signing is a risk, if they've already played for the Gers that risk is less (although not gone, everyone can have good and bad seasons) I'm against it where it's sentimental, but where it's a player that would improve our team, like putting Cuellar back at CB and Hutton at RB, or Arteta and Gattuso in our central midfield it'd undoubtedly be a good thing.
  9. It's been suggested for various players and they've refused. These sort of rumuors always come up for African players and there's some rationality behind the accusations, especially where it's a country in the middle of civil war, birth registration isn't a priority. Imagine the youth players Rangers have just released as not good enough at 19/20 could say to another club that they were only 14, they'd be snapped up instantly. I remember Obafemi Martins had claims like this against him, helped by the fact the Nigerian FA had him listed as 6 years older than his birth certificate, Roger Milla aswell, scored in the World Cup at 42 years old whilst some say he was as many as 10 years older. Freddy Adu is the most recent high profile one I can remember, but no-one cares anymore coz he's actually shite. There was apparently a crackdown recently for an under 17 world cup and prior to the FIFA testing Nigeria and Gambia ditched more than half of their squad...
  10. He's called out the Scottish parliament on what it has been since it was created, a complete waste of time and money. This is all they do, create laws where existing ones were sufficient, reacting to whatever "issue" is a talking point at the time. I can't wait until next years annual "We're getting tough on knife crime with these new measures" parade. Same shite every year from the wee pretendy parliament.
  11. Nothing to do with me, i'm an adult so i steer clear of the illiterate nonsense on football rumours. I've mentioned him before on gere though i think and definitely on 606
  12. Right... who has Ally's phone number?
  13. Higher than us probably but he went to Olympiakos from Asteras Tripolis where wages are pretty low and I remember at the time of signing his wages were reported around £8000 per week (at Olympiakos) he certainly wasn't one of their top earners and even a substantial improement on those wages would be within our means i'd imagine. As a complete aside I wonder if the Greek financial situation is having an effect on what their teams can afford to pay and if their top earners will be moving (not to us though)
  14. It's called an educated guess, or coming to a conclusion on the balance of probabilities.
  15. Jaouad Zairi is a Morrocan winger who has just been released by Olympiakos. I took an interest in his career years ago after watching him play in an international match, he's a fantastic talent and must be one of the best players in the world at dribbling past a man, the ball is just glued to his feet. Would be a more than able replacement for the Vladimir Weiss role since it looks now like he's not coming back next season. I can't imagine his wages being too high and having been released there would be no transfer fee. The only issue may be that for some time he's been saying he wants to return to French football so may only be looking there.
  16. Fair play, given a straight choice between the two Conway is probably the better option, know what you're getting there. Aaron probably still has potential given he's still quite young and I think there's a chance he could far surpass Conway's ability, he was certainly one of Spains next big hopes for some years until injury slowed him down. He's apparently been playing in the Spanish second division this season and doing well. Obviously not the highest of standards but give him a trial and a few friendlies and see how he does.
  17. I think McCoist is just stuck right now. I'd expect these players are more likely to be on his "no takeover" list so he'll be wary of signing them up if he then gets handed a budget that allows him to bring in better players. To me these guys are squad players and aren't going to make our first team any stronger (if everyone is fully fit)
  18. Just an option though, right now the feeling seems to be that Weiss will be a no go if Weiss snr. ends up in Russia, so that leaves Wylde and Naismith, Diouf will be on his way too and Fleck is honestly just not worth talking about. Aaron on a free could be decent cover with potential.
  19. I understand he is out of contract at the end of this season, anyone think he'd be worth trying to bring back to Rangers? He seemed to enjoy his time at the Gers and if i remember correctly had refused to return to Valencia in favour of returning to the Gers (before they clearly told him they'd find him another loan club who would actually play him) and when he did get his few chances for us he took them well, setting up goals and scoring himself. He was a player that a lot of fans thought didn't get a fair chance but I wonder if he impressed McCoist enough that he'd be interested in bringing him back. The talent was certainly there.
  20. Both are out of contract at the end of the season and are free to speak to any other club once they're into the last 6 months of their contract.
  21. He's the Dundee Messi after that run through their defence, shame he hit the post, would have made the rest of the game a bit more interesting.
  22. Same here, always find it funny seeing vids of players in the 90's shirts that I thought were cutting edge modern and would never look dated though and now they do. Liked the one after that 99-01. As stunning as a plain blue t-shirt can be
  23. Charbonnier was a cracking keeper. Klos was excellent also but when he replaced Charbonnier at first I was disappointed. If i remember correctly we moved for Klos but he was stuck in a contract wrangle with Dortmund so we signed Charbonnier and then quite soon after Klos was sorted so we had the 2 top keepers to choose from and since Charbonnier was only brought in when we thought we wouldn't get Klos he automatically was shifted to 2nd choice (having a few injuries helped that also)
  24. It's the standard nonsense that comes up in court "I'm not racist, i've got black friends" He's a nasty wee bigot who has finally slipped up and said the sort of thing he normally holds back. Hope he's treated the same way Findlay was and his employers should take a look at his contract.
