Loved that we moved to a 343 formation, should do it more often. Offers a real threat in wide areas. And using 3 defenders rather than Lundstram moving into the back line. Also thought moving Danilo through the middle helped today. The boy has excellent touch and control. Think he is wasted playing as the wide 10.

He’s a really good defender. He defends the 6 yard box brilliantly. Today we certainly lose a goal without him and possibly 2 points…. He can be a real solid leader for our team…

Some positives tonight and a couple of negatives… all in all I’m quite confident we will go through,

Yeah… Man City quite often played it last season… it does work well especially against defensive teams….

No Lundstram would be a start. He is a very limited footballer…. Need to stop playing tactics to cover for our full backs going forward constantly. Really has cost us over the years. It used to be the 2 wide centre mids covering them, now it’s the 2 Centre backs with Lundstram dropping into a back 3…. the 1st thing full back should be doing is defending and allow the midfield and attack to do the attacking….

In order to play our supposed best players we need to play a 4222 and stick with it…. For the financial outlay Lammers, Danilo, Dessers will play… to get cantwell in also needs to be a 4222 as I don’t see him as a central midfielder. other way could be 4231 with Danilo and cantwell wide. Not sure if Danilo can play wide…..

My preference is to play a back 3… Souttar, Goldson, Sterling or a new CB. Cifuentes and Raskin in the middle. With Cantwell and Dowell wider. Lammers playing behind Dessers and Danilo.

We have a big problem tactically…. Dropping a midfielder (Lundstram) into a back 3 really fucks us up. It prevents the other 2 midfielders pushing to far up the pitch to join in with the strikers. if he actually stayed as the midfield holder, the other 2 can push forward more… This is not all Lundstrams fault, it’s clearly a tactic used to try to get the full backs forward, but they are pish

We need Raskin and Dowell to run at them…. Beat a man or 2…. That’ll create a bit of space….. playing way to many passes
