  1. If what's been spread about the back of the Rhag today is true about a boardroom bust-up over the £1million signing of Hayes is true, then if I was King and co, I'd have chased the three of them out the door. No questions asked. First and foremost, he's not a commanding central defender that the team's been crying out for since LAST season. I don't know how you would trust MW or Frank the uber scout with any significant financial backing when the three most arguably expensive players signed over the past year, either by transfer fees or wages in Barton, MoH and Garner, have been completely wasteful. Barton is a topic that's been spoken about to great length, so there's no need to beat a dead horse. But for a combined outlay of £2.3-£2.4 million for MoH and Garner, you're at least expecting two players who fit the profile of the 4-3-3 system. Astonishingly, neither did. MoH is inept with the ball at his feet, unable to mirror any of the dribbling qualities of Mckay and Waghorn required for a wide-man in MW's system. And Garner's a target man, best utilised in a 4-4-2 with a secondary striker running of the scraps from his headers. I don't expect King and Co to be sugar daddies to any extent, but they have provided a relatively moderate budget to challenge the taigs to a greater degree than we are currently, and should be sufficient to put the sheep and a FM15 fantasy Hearts team to bed. Warburton's failure to build a squad capable of consolidating second place and putting us out of sight of third and fourth, (at very least of what we expect and demand from our clubs proud traditions) has cost him the job. The next managerial appointment is extremely crucial for both European football, and having a greater chance of stopping the fenians making it 10. Here's hoping it's the right one.
  2. Given what we have already, how would you line up for next year? Who gets dropped to the bench? With the options of Halliday, Holt, Crooks, Rossiter, Law* and Shiels*, and to a lesser extent Jordan Thomson and Murdoch(most likely loaned out again) in the midfield, with McKay, Miller, Waghorn, O'Halloran, Forrester, Windass, Clark*, Hardie(loan?) vying for positions in the front 3. List of endless possibilities. * Those whom's contracts are expiring.
  3. I would take half of those as deem that as an incredible season, but that list is monumental. All we need now is to smash Hibs in the final, and the first piece of transfers business of tying Warburton and Weir up for a two year extension onto their current deal. We need to chain him up and never let him leave.
  4. Extremely surprised with Mekhi McLeod, especially after the hype he received when signing from Wolves in January. Obviously Warburton and Mulholland have a vision for the youth set-up, and this year will be massive in terms of signings for both the first team and the developmental teams.
  5. Law, Zalalem, Bell, Templeton, Clark, Shiels. Zalalem was a good enough for loanee for this division, however, next year I feel we can attract a better caliber of player on loan from a top prem club. Hopefully a return for Dom Ball on another loan or even a permanent deal because he was fantastic all season and realistically I don't think he will break through at Spurs. Going to be a big big summer for the Rangers.
  6. Don't think it's wise resting players cause we've got a whole week to prepare for the mhuck. Same starting line up as yesterday, as much as it pains me to leave Dom Ball on the bench for Wilson. Rangers 4-0. Forrester, Miller x2, Holt.
  7. Martyn Shaghorn is a fucking machine. Best signing we've made this year, and would've easily fit into the previous teams under Walter with Jelavic and Davis etc.
  8. Fit, young, hungry, lean squad. Perhaps MW is happy to go with the 3 CBs we have in Wilson, Ball and Kiernan and won't be afraid to call Ross McCrorie or Tom Lang up to the squad who both highly regarded youth prospects. Would use the wages from McGregor and Zal to bring in a striker and perhaps even a wingback for either side as that's where the squad is pretty vulnerable.
  9. In our current league, we have the cushion of playing lesser teams who won't capitalize on a loose pass from the GK. It's only what, our third league fixture? Our current system is entirely new and we're still comfortably leading the table and ran a mock - with the exception of yesterday. Hibs won't catch us, nobody will. This season will be about embedding our system as our whole squad adopts to attacking football, slick passing, pass and move, passing from the back and such. This will be implemented for the bigger challenge next year against the tarriers and the sheep. Big Wes is totally dominant in the air, commands the area, he shouts and talks to the defence and organises well. Non issue here, one bad pass doesn't make someone a bomb scare. In Warburton we trust.
  10. Bellahouston Bowling Club for a pre-match pint. Absolutely buzzing. Intae these junkie bastards, Bears! 3-0
  11. Got a £10 on that this morning. Waiting for the line-up tomorrow before I put on a scorer and a Rangers win.
  12. Rangers to win and Tav to score anytime 17/5. King William Hill.
  13. Early days, but if the magic keeps coming from Warburton's hat and if I was Dave King and Paul Murray, I'd absolutely look to add a 2/3 year extension at the end of this year or next to W/W's contracts. Ohhhhhh Warburton is magic.
  14. McGregor will be a good squad player if we are challenging on 4 fronts, along with Dominic Ball and McCrorie who's definitely impressing for the development squad. Templeton, Zal and perhaps Crawford are surplus to requirement and don't meet the criteria. Their wages would allow us to bring in a good striker to play alongside Waghorn or at least invested elsewhere.
  15. Must celebrate running away from goal with both arms aloft like any player from 1980 and previous to that.
