You’re taking my comment out of context, i’m simply saying the outlay for someone who isn’t instantly going to impact the first team doesnt add up. We are not in a position to spend £5M on a back up project when its blatantly obvious you’d struggle not to improve any other position on the park with that kind of money. Both he and Davies were bought with the purpose of going straight into our starting 11 but for whatever reason it hasnt worked out that way, so far.

We sold a CB for £23M and needed a new left back. There’s not another fullback in the country with Tav’s numbers so thats a bit of a false guage. We needed a new right winger, a new centre mid, and a new keeper. We didnt spend £5M on any of them. If GVB was working within a budget, which we presume he was and that he reached the limit of it, then £5M for a back up project left back seems like poor business.
