  1. My 11 year old sons head nearly exploded when I texted him to tell him about this as we're Rangers/Burnley fans. Midweek will probably restrict the numbers travelling up. Those that come will be mostly pro Rangers/Unionist as the town hates ceptic since they rioted @ Turf Moor in a 1978 Anglo-Scottish Cup match. Shame it isn't @ Turf Moor as the welcome would be massive and despite what people think of Burnley it's a football mad town and would open its arms to Rangers fans. Burnley FC have strong links with Ulster as Burnley found many players from over there. Friendly folk who like a pint or two and I used to sell numerous Burnley/Rangers scarves/badges on the stall I used to have down there. We'll be coming up and it'll be weird sitting in the away end but it'll great to see the Clarets @ Ibrox. Can't wait!
  2. Don't collect but my company designs, manafactures and supplies enamel badges. Prices for a standard style badge finished in soft enamel start @ £0-80p and in a hard enamel finish from £0-90p each. Those prices are based on a minimum order of 100 off and are fully inclusive of artwork, die charges and production the only extra cost would be delivery. We are not VAT registered so there is no VAT to add. If anyone's interested you can get in touch by: www.pwpins.co.uk sales@pwpins.co.uk Simon.
  3. I donated £10 earlier on today via my business PayPal. Terrific idea and a great gesture giving people the chance to experience Ibrox who may not normally be able to.
  4. During a match at Turf Moor in the late eighties/early nineties Paddy Roche of Halfax was having a torrid match failing to deal with crosses. The chant "You couldn't catch a bus, Paddy Roche, Paddy Roche" the rest of the ground joined and it went on for a good 1/2 hour and went up in volume every time Roche had the ball. Also whilst at Anfield sometime during the eighties the away end with the Chelsea fans another part of the away end filled up with Rangers fans and not long after a good thousand were in place almost every one of them broke out singing "He's gay, he's bent, his arse is up rent. Johnnie Barnes, Johnnie Barnes." Couldn't stop laughing for ages.
  5. quote name='harlands plater' timestamp='1372464538' post='106115 got talking to a Burnley fan on holiday in Southport years ago, he didn't as much love the Rangers as absolutely despise the tarriers, because of the trouble they caused down there in the Anglo-Scottish Cup. He's not alone many remember that night they're behaviour was appalling. Pulling apart the fences to use as spears, pitch invasions, families having to flee the crazed mob. They didnt succeed in invading the main home standing Longside area and the local press said: "A small section of Celtic fans tore down part of the fence separating the fans and invaded the no-man's land between them. They were throwing missiles of all kinds - bricks, concrete and even bottles filled with urine" Burnley won 1 - 0 and won the 2nd leg 2 - 1 making it 3 - 1 on aggregate and the Clarets went on to win the Anglo-Scottish Cup as well just for the record!
  6. Breaking news ticker says SPL agree proposal to merge with SFL. Merged League would include 42 clubsclubs with 12-10-10-10 divisional structure. Will be voted on next month and be in place for next season. More to follow.
  7. Welcome Burnley fan which is a pleasure to do as I'm a fellow Claret and Bear living behind enemy lines in Blackburn! Plenty of Burnley fans follow the Gers this was evident when I used to run a memborilia stall outside Turf Moor sold loads of Burnley/Rangers half and half scarves and badges. Very rarely got asked for the ceptic version but when I did I just said there was no demand for them. No way was I going to stock them! Also ceptic fans are not popular in Burnley ever since 1977 when they went on the rampage and rioted at the Anglo-Scottish Cup match1st Leg at Turf Moor which Burnley 1-0 and then won 2-1 at Ceptic park. I also remember the pro-British/Loyalist/Rangers/Burnley fanzine called Longside Loyalist around 1994-1997.
  8. Also would a lot of season tickets have been bought in March/April/May 2012 (On early bird discounts) prior to the line up of the SPL being known for the 2012/2013 season and before our entry into the 3rd division. With the knowledge we won't be in the SPL for 2013/2014 affect their decision this time around and result in even poorer season ticket sales. Time will tell.
  9. Surely they should all just move on now! I'm sure that was said to us a few times over the last few months.
  10. Pure class hes bashed them over the head with their own houlier than thou comments made in the not too distant past. Their double standards are coming back to haunt them. Keeping tying them up in knots Chris.
  11. This is the great thing about this forum highlighting the utter sadness that the septic fans stoop to and they even publicised it in the newspapers! Football fans I told down here in England just couldn't believe it until I directed them to this thread. If the game had been at Alloa I could understand a few turning out to wind up but to organise two buses to travel to Ibrox and give us approximately £10k when their own team aren't even playing in the match. Priceless.
