Unfortunately players in the modern era are simply employees and the old saying " a rangers player" and what it means to pull that shirt on is lost on the majority of this lot. If you are a player who had a good standing in the game, strong reputation or personal brand as a footballer and you joined us hoping to be improved only to find that the training and the overall football ethos and football philosophy was shite or out dated would inevitably do your head in and at some point just lose the desire due to being exposed to the Mcoist then Mcdowell crap coaching. We signed some players at the peak of their game. Wallace. Mcgregor, Shiels, Law, Templeton, Clarke and even Boyd came of scoring a bucket full for Killie. Look at them now! Overweight, unfit and shadows of the players they once were before joining us. Imagine what was going on in their head when they were asked to train under the two previous coaches? We all see the games and the lack of strategy and obvious instructions to boot ball up to the two forwards. The players are responsible for some of what we now face. But the real issues fall to Ally and Kenny and the mess of boards we have had. Lets hope it improves fast!

But Ferris that can be said of any club at any point in time of its lifecycle. Think back to the days pre David Murray when the unwashed won title after title? We play well, we play poorly. It matter not. Administartors come and go. Generally they always use our money. Stay on track mate. Buy your ST. Support as you always have.

That's cheap. GK coaches are hard to find and as its a specialised position the salaries of the coaches are high. Doesnt sound a lot to me.

Just another player who thought he was better than he was. Once again Rangers made him look so much better than he was by playing against shite sides and playing with legends and men! He left us. He thought he was better than Rangers and IMO just another player who went to England to be never heard of again. We could all rattle off so many of these types. Many players forget just how good we make them look.

Formation is nearly everything in football, Without a formation players don't know their roles. How their movement affects others and vice versa. Go tell the Spanish, Italian or a Dutch that formation isn't the be all and end all. Players fit into a team. Not having a team change formation or way of playing based on a player not being available or leaves the club. I've spoken about this before but we must have a Rangers way of playing football. Our youth coming through should Already know what formation our 1st grade play. The production line creates players for positions within a formation. The formation determines where the bal goes, the types of passes made and what kind of runs our players make in certain situations. Finally Rangers should have its own football curriculum. This should underpin our way of playing, if that's a 1433 or 14231 or whatever that's fine but we develop players to play that way and we educate them and the coaches in how to do it. Unfortunately IMO Ally has no idea on how to write a curriculum or even how to go about finding someone who has skills he doesn't have that would balance out his weaknesses.

If this is accurate then Berra would do a good job for us and I'm sure Ally will be looking at his age and be appropriate for a 3 yr plus contract. That allows him to build a long term plan around Berra and hope that we can attract another decent CB at end of this coming season where we are planning to go up the divisions. If wages work for us then I'm all for it

We don't really have a great record with the French players do we? Off the top of my head the ones that did ok were, Darchville . Charbonnier until he broke his leg I think. Sure i missed some but most others like clement, Boli and that bloody striker (can't remember his name right now was an arrogant bastard) Lol the one we sold I think to Rovers he was rubbish. I just keep thinking to myself what on earth is Ally trying to build at our club? If I believe what he says then there should be no hope in hell of us signing Miller or even Boyd. But heres the problem. I honestly believe that Ally does want to sign these guys and its been on the cards for a while given they were training with us on and off some time ago. This sumps up Ally IMO to a tee. H e is not the man to forge our future regards football style, culture or philosophy. As someone he said. If we sign them then Ally really has no idea

This is exactly the point. Why on earth do we have supporters saying its not Allys fault we got belted against Dundee Utd or any other SPL team. I honestly think that none of us really give a shit about the result "now". But we sure as hell care about how we are developing as a club, playing unit, coach ability and MP set up. All of which Ally has had the ability to influence massively yet he continues to play dumb basic ugly football with players of a much higher pedigree agianst players from Div 3.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I have seen him up close as the coach when he was in Sydney FC and what a mess it was.

.Fair post Brad. I would add that at the level we ar at right now I get a bit upset when Ally says its hard to attract quality to Rangers due to the league we are in. My point is we should be developing now not brining in second rate euro hacks payed over the top wages. Your right in that Rangers demand winning first and foremost Maybe the supporters need re education as well like the Arsenal ones have experienced by playing great football and winning zero LOL that wa sa joke no need to take offence. Mate after 2 years as head coach and many years under Walter we are in a position to look at Ally as manager. We have had plenty of opportunity to witness how he puts his teams on the park via formation and general style of football? IMO Its absolutely clear that Ally has not tried nor even realistically bought into a specific formation or playing philosophy. He isnt a coach who plays what we would call "proper football" for if he did and failed we could at least say he had the courage to impart an attractive style of play because in the long term thats what will deliver us trophies and more importantly he would have set a clear picture on how our Youth will play " the Rangers way" whatever that ends up being. Murray Park is not a acadamy based environment where Youth coaches are football educators delivering a set menu of how to play for Rangers. If there was any time EVER to start a football revolution whereby the club was completely behind you and where the senior players at your dispoal are miles ahead of those you play against and the youth are mainly all products of MP then that time is now. But we are playing various formations including a mid boggoling 4-1-4-1 v Div 3 panelbeaters. I just dont get it. Despite all of the facts we have bears saying that Ally needs more time. OK, but what will change? Have we seen anyhthing from Ally to suggest that he is capable of instilling a new way at MP where we can grow our own and be sustainable into the future without having to buy players and pay them a shitload? Where would he get this skill set from? He's never experienced another way of playing or a different football culture from within. Nah for me its time and if we dont do it now than we lose a great opportunity to not only start afresh in monies but also in playing culture.

Before we look at either end of pitch we need to have the right people at MP delivering a programe from 10's to Youth to 18's - 20's. We have to have a factory creating our own production line of baby bears!
