MOSCOW, December 13 (R-Sport) - Russia and Ukraine’s top flights could merge as the basis for a new regional football Super League, the head of the Russian league told R-Sport on Thursday. Proposals for a Super League have gathered pace in recent weeks, winning backing from Russian Premier League head Sergei Pryadkin and representatives of CSKA Moscow, Zenit St. Petersburg and Anzhi Makhachkala. “It’s possible all 16 Russian [Premier League] clubs will compete and all 14 Ukrainian [Premier League] ones,” Pryadkin said. If this proposal gets passed through then a possible move might be possible.
