  1. Incidentally Green's comment about diminishing commercial revenues for the SPL has never rung truer....!!
  2. The SPL clubs will just have to re-structure, play young players etc, may have to lose some players, but I think lots of clubs going bust is highly unlikely. Celtic will be the ones that will struggle out of this, they are already really well down on sales of season tickets without us, and it will be interesting to see how panic sets in when Helsinki torpedo them out of the CL qualifying, and that massive cash cow disappears. Given how poor the other scottish clubs have been in europe the co-efficient could be dire by the time we get back to the SPL. But they voted for it, they chose to put the demi-god of sporting integrity before the financial survival of their own clubs, listening to those clamouring fans, who are now not buying season tickets. Whereas we will rebuild, should run at a nice healthy profit over the next few years due to a much cropped wage budget, and will come back even stronger, run fiscally responsibly.
  3. I nearly went to place a bet on the match, and then I opened the market to see "The Rangers Fc"....that was the end of that one! Really interested to see what the team is, I am expecting a lot of the young lads. Looking forward to see how he play given how little pre-season we have had.
  4. Please just let it all be over, and get on with football, signing players, climbing back up the leagued to our rightful place as scotland's premier club.
  5. On one thread we are out of all the leagues, on another everything is fine and will be sorted tomorrow. The only thing more deafening than the silence from the SPL/SFA/SFL/Rangers is the total and utter confusion this is causing. Crazy times!
  6. Terrible writing, badly researched, completely biased, factually incorrect if not deliberately misleading, I could go on and on....even most of the comments at the bottom are against him. Bin, delete, burn....
  7. On tuesday a deal looked imminent, Green had been chatting on the phone to Regan and Doncaster, a meeting in the afternoon would sort it all out. Now by the end of thursday total silence has descended. This cannot be good. About time the club issued a short statement updating fans on where we are, even if it just to say what cannot be agreed upon. Feel sorry for those going at the weekend and Brechin who will be severely prejudiced should the game not go ahead.
  8. This whole deed thing is a nonsense. The title sheet to ibrox and other areas could be requested from the land register for payment of the appropriate fee, as these are public documents. If there were any surprises there it would have been all over the press a while ago.
  9. I don't see any way the SPL will relent on the EBT thing. I suppose the most likely scenario is that they are forced to trade off on the media rights. There is no way we are going to get an SFA license without the SPL getting one of those two things. They have us over a barrel on this one, and I for one hope the club stands resolute against this corrupt institution.
  10. Can't wait for Helsinki to put them out in the CL qualifying. By my reckoning that is P 5 W 1 D 1 L 3 F 2 A 7 in pre-season. Superb stuff, hail hail indeed.
  11. I got mine ages ago, I assume there is no likelihood of us getting a sponsor as mine is blank on the front? I like the new top, bought it as soon as it came out as a show of defiance. Looking forward to wearing it on match days, when that rare event comes along, a football match. I am so scunnered with football politicking I just long for us to be playing again. If you can get it for £25 sounds like a bargain to me!
  12. Unlikely but would be AMAZING. The cups will be massive for us this year!!
  13. The thing is that the SPL are legally obliged to make the payments to the SFL, regardless of the current television deal, and any default I have no doubt the SFL will be straight to the courts. It was all agreed in perpetuity at the very genesis of the SPL, one of the things which offset the division of the league at the time. So all this bluster from the SPL that they won't pay is just that, legally the SFL can screw them over, and no doubt will if necessary. There is no prospect the SFA will drop the EBT thing and to be honest, I say let them get on with it. Everything we did was publicly declared and has been known for years. Let them strip our titles, no-one will pay any notice, because we won them on the pitch, and no player or other club will take any interest in being handed a title in this way. If we refuse to acknowledge them, they will always be ours, we have the memories, we have the results, and this can never be taken away from us. Our membership seems now to be a battle between the SPL and SFL, and yet again the SFA are in the middle refusing to take leadership. One week we are needed in the first division or the game will die a "slow lingering death" or there will be "social unrest", the next they are trying their best to put is out of existence. It is clear the SFA has no plan here whatsoever, no foresight, and are an utter shambles. Institutionally incompetent doesn't even come close.
  14. Hardly surprising, the fact is, the undeniable irritating fact for the rest of these hatred filled muppets is that the SPL cannot survive without us, and all financial forecasts indicated that, and they were all predicated on SKY maintaining some relationship with scottish football. If they pull out completely it will be total armageddon and never mind a slow and lingering death it will be more like an instant and rapid demise. A time is coming soon when the real motives behind these decisions will be laid bare, and when the fans of other clubs are going to have to realise the irony that they killed their own clubs, that punishing us was more important than anything, than the game in general, and that their club is no more as a result. Hard to know what this really means actually, it could just be the proposed live games are being finalised, but were SKY to pull out the SPL is over.
