  1. Been a long time, knew I could rely on RM to say like it is. Rot in hell, cúnt.
  2. Fernando's tribute match was the first time in a long time it felt like Rangers again. We're getting there now, but I distinctly remember that day being a reminder of what it should be like. Whatever that means, I thank him for that memory and feeling. We'd been through so much, on field/off the field and the truly abysmal football we had to endure. That day and occasion, with the man himself taking kick off and the gasped silence when he fell, was a complete tumble dryer of emotions. Seeing his ex teammates carrying him round each corner of the famous stadium to applause and admiration of all inside was the first time I felt like we were ourselves again. It's very difficult to articulate, but that Ricksen charity match to me was special. Not only did it simultaneously put our footballing woes into perspective, it also reminded us of what we are as a support and how special a club it is. And no shyster cunt con man, spiv or charlatan could touch that feeling, thank God. They gave him 18 months, he fought like fuck for 6 years. No Surrender Fernando Ricksen
  3. Pre 2012 if I thought we'd get beat we'd usually win and if it looked like we were favourites before hand them we'd usually lose. So I'm taking nothing for granted. They've got a lot of match winners in their team that only need one chance. However, if we play like we did last year at home we should do it. Battle fever intensifying...
  4. This is pretty much spot on. I totally understand the argument that appeasement will end with our enemies only coming back for something else. However, if and when they do, if we can be in a position of strength to defend ourselves then we can fight the charges. It's not the songs they find offensive, it's us, our very existence. They will never stop. What We need is a leg to stand. We can give ourselves that, it's in our hands.
  5. Ultimately, equality and acceptance of all people is what 99.9% of all humans believe in. It's the force fed totalitarianism of it all that can grate on us, and the bandwagon-ing of those with agendas. Two rules: Treat others as you would like to be treated and sticks and stones may break bones. A simple message that modern society is making a mockery of. Back to Rangers though, second and third paragraph nail it. Rightly or wrongly the world has changed and to survive you must change with it. We haven't compromised or changed anything, we've been for everyone and anyone for a very long time. Why not lead from the front and do more than pay lip service? Fits with our pioneering heritage. Would be good if more on here could see the bigger picture in this regard.
  6. Inclined to agree, I thought about mentioning the scum games, but they weren't the reason we won nothing last year. And if he isn't starting in the other fixtures, he won't be in contention nevermind match fit for a match against the vhermin.
  7. Think he'll only be particularly missed if we make the group stages. A big part in the stupid draws and Scottish cup exit last year, he doesn't have the consistency or compusure for when we're playing against the 10 men behind the ball/clogger shite in Scotland. Gave his all which is all we ask, goes with best wishes.
  8. His all round play has improved year on year, and he has certainly grown into the captain's role which, for me, did not come naturally to him. It says a lot about his attitude and professionalism that he has come so far in his time here. The number of naysayers (myself included at one point) has reduced gradually and will continue to shrink further as they realise how important he is to us.
  9. If this was just a loan deal we'd be delighted. How does an option to buy benefit us?? Really not happy with this.
  10. Still can't quite describe how that night felt, 11 years on. It was more than just joy.
  11. Any we did lose weren't worth keeping. I believe the young team now will be the foundation for a new era of hardcore fans. There may be less due to the EPL influence or our lack of success, but they've been with us through these years of horror and when we do get back on top, they will never take success for granted. They've seen the hatred for us and the corruption in all the infested organisations. They then won't allow their young ones to idly support some other team from England or worse, the tarriers just cos their wee pal does or whatever reason. I hope and pray the divisions in our support leaves with the older generation, because the young team are galvanised. Nobody likes them, they don't care.
  12. Was amazing but unfortunately bittersweet with the joke display in the final and them getting shot of dial a bus for Rodgers.
  13. If circumstances hadn't been so, then Jelavic. Got probably a third of his true worth at the time as well.
  14. Gave us our respect back initially, and after years of truly, God-awful, unwatchable turgid "football" I think we were all ecstatic to see us playing some really good and entertaining stuff. But then, everyone got wise and Warburton didn't. The semi final was magnificent but in hindsight might well have been the worst thing to happen with them splashing out for Rodgers and us believing we were better than we were. The cup final was just a fucking bad joke. Kiernan basically allowed that rhancid cunt stokes to walk the ball into the net. Halliday screamer counting for nothing added to the pain, and basically negating the amazing win over them. I knew pretty much from kick off we wouldn't win, because of how other teams had sussed Warburton out and that we couldn't adapt. However, he did win the challenge cup which if we went up without winning would have been very embarrassing. Just another example of how bad we were under McCoist. The departure was messy but don't hold any ill feeling towards him and Weir. We have enough enemies and people who wish and work to harm us to worry about than hold grudges against men who tried but ultimately weren't up to the task.
  15. Would be greatly appreciated if you found it and posted it here... I've had a quick search but think it's too early yet, though admittedly I have no idea where to look.
  16. Initially, Arteta. It was almost like he didn't realise what he meant to us and the massive part he played in one of our greatest moments. Later in his career (actually retirement IIRC) he thanked us for basically shaping him as a man and a player. Hindsight maybe, but regardless I was glad to finally hear it. However, still not certain he knows what he meant to us at the time and when we really needed him with Ferguson going. Obviously nothing compared to wasters like Windass, Boli, etc but still something that twigs the memory, but not even close to being on a scale of dishonour that would have me wish him nothing but the absolute best in his further career.
  17. This result just would not happen under the previous managers. A team to be proud of again, and one that's worthy of our undying support
  18. He's not that type of player, but we can't complain about the red. It was daft and really gave the referee little option
  19. 'Original' a better word maybe, but yes of course. Only the big teams have gates i.e. Us and Liverpool.
  20. Program along with the scarf, and pictures at the gates as well
  21. On a bus the now, stinks of dirty catholic weans
