I don't think we can really expect to sign a current international goalkeeper with the level of experience he has (or better) for nothing and at 30k a week though tbh. He may not have done much of late and his career may have stalled a bit, but he's a much safer option than a risk of a youth keeper or a punt on a foreign option. Can go either way really. Look at that Greek cunt they signed, he wasn't too bad at his previous club but looked Simonsen level for them.

TBF there's a few good pickups I'd take from there, cooper, Bartley, fleck, maybe Whittaker if he's cheap enough, and probably Stewart. Would need to shift some players on to make room but Stewart and fleck would certainly help euro quotas.

No, if we do go 3 at the back, think him and goldson and Davies would be a strong back 3, leaving souttar king and maybe mayo for backup. Should be sending our youngsters to decent EFL league 1 clubs tbh, see how they get on and if they progress then send them up a level or to a Scottish premiership team. If anything else it's a shop window for if they aren't deemed good enough to make it here. I'm not saying we've had success in sending players south of the border before (eg mcpake) but just get the feeling it'd be a better option than Scottish League 1/championship, EFL is highly competitive and there can be some really decent sides down there (for their level)
