    Desperately sad news.
Thoughts are with his family and the Rangers family.

    He really is for me.
Every good memory is of him and our 9iar team
But that 3 in a row team proved to the world that the shite about cheque book manager etc was nonsnese. He came back imo a better manager and for 2008 I'll always be thankful. He took us on a fucking journey and gave so much of his life to this club.
And to Ethel, thanks for letting him come back the 2nd time as she wasn't going to
    legend.

    Fucking heartbreaking.
Grew up as a child with this man leading us and then as a teenager he came came back.
My best memories of us are with him leading us.
Will never be replaced in my eyes, our one true gaffer.
    Love you Walter.

Even with Waddell and Wallace being the men behind Barcelona 72, Smith stands above, shoulder to shoulder with Struth, in our Club’s history.
Statues have lost their value outside some football stadiums across the world but I think I speak for everyone in saying that Walter Smith absolutely deserves one the opposite side of the main stand from Greig.
    Fucksake man.

This has hit me more than I ever thought it could.
Rest easy gaffer and thank you for everything.
A man I have never met somehow managed to be a huge part of my life.

We're failing to keep things solid at the back. 9 league games and we've only managed 3 clean sheets. We can't look to grind out 1-0 wins conceding goals like we have been.
The other issue for me is we are sitting too deep. We aren't pushing up enough and making things difficult for the opposition late in games. Just letting them come onto us.
That's an issue with tactical instructions and fitness.

Season started at the end of July and we still haven't got going, beyond a joke.

It’s the insistence by Gerrard on managing the game at 70mins with subs - who are incapable of managing the game out.

    I wish he wouldn’t
Quality of squad really laid bare.

On this occasion I would say it was a management  thing the gaffer ripped the guts out of a team that was actually playing quite well apart from misfiring strikers.
Yes his new signings need game time to integrate them but it's up to the management  team to get the team playing well enough to create  a platform for these lads to play not a top of the table clash with only a single goal lead.

I was quick to judge Lundstram and wrote him off so I’ll bite my lip about Sakala and Bacuna for now…..other than far from impressed so far !!!

Chelsea yesterday was a good example.
Brentford were relentless at the end but Chelsea held out.
As much of a psychological strength as footballing/defending one.

Without looking at the stats, Arfield was probably good for 10 goals a season, his late runs into to the box provided many goals.
    It's certainly not been replaced.

He’s passed it sadly, great servant for us but like a few in this team kept on for a season too many

Even with Morelos having a howler Sakala couldn’t get a game yesterday.

that tells you more about Sakala than Alfie

Aye if you're wanting to defend Morelos right now stats aren't useful in that argument.
"He's an all round better player though" naw, he's really no. He's massively declining.
  18. HG5 liked a post in a topic by King Jela in Morelos
Since 2020, in the league alone, he's started 40 games and in those 40 games he's scored in 12 of them. 40 starts and in only 12 of those he's found the back of the net, be it one or 2 goals. 12 in 40. There's no pretending otherwise, that is utter shite.

We've had four years to find a suitable replacement and spent a lot of money doing it.  A lot of questions need asked on our record for goal scorers.

It's like he's reverted to how he was at the start of the 19/20 season.
Stocky muscular powerful players like him always walk a fine line with fitness and weight and he's on the wrong side of that line right now.

I knew he was missing when Roofe squared it. Have absolutely zero confidence in him.
Maybe time to move on and get what we can, while we can.

I wasnt at the game but from the highlights he had a shocker. I think we missed the boat on punting him for big money.
  23. HG5 liked a post in a topic by Super Ally Scores Again! in Morelos
I think we have wrecked Morelos abit
Go back 3/4 years and he was dynamic, great at holding the ball up and rolling defenders before barging himself towards goal.
Now he’s 30yards from goal, never in the box when the ball is played in and constantly playing flicks backwards
Now when we look at the team this season we are struggling to score and finish teams off…. No wonder when our strikers play like midfielders and the majority of our midfielders are defensively minded.
THERES NO ONE UP THERE TO SCORE!!
If we can I’d bring back Itten and give him a chance

Whats the point in morelos doing all that if he cant hit the target from 6 yards, look at boyds record for us against spfl dross
  25. HG5 liked a post in a topic by Jackal in Morelos
Nowhere near as good as our fans make out and a taboo subject if gets called out.
Finishing totally dreadful and we have missed the boat cashing in on him.
