Personally can't see past Stuart McCall as the next manager. He's done well with limited resources at Motherwell and has beat the scum quite a few times. I don't see him being manager long term but the next few years we'll need someone to steady the ship, a bit like big Eck did after Advocaat, someone who cam get the best out of limited resources.

Winning a part time league with a team of highly paid professionals is not a success in my books. Ramsdens cup final was a disgrace and showed the cracks behind all that wallpaper Ally's been slinging up. Getting to the SC Semi was good however needing 2 cracks at Albion again was shite.

In fairness the writer (not me) is quite up front about not being a financial expert. I think the point he's trying to make is if we made a £7m loss before any one-off's were accounted for then where did that money come from...it had to come from the IPO money.

I think Charles Green get's a lot of flak for the amount of bullshit he talked and all his sales patter however it has to be said he needed to proper front that IPO in order to make it a success. Were we lied to in terms of what that money was for? I think yes we were but what was the alternative? Tell investors that we're making massive losses and their investment would just keep us affloat? I think unfortunately the IPO might have been a means to an end, without it we'd have needed to make some brutal cost reductions and it has to be questioned could we have even been able to make those reductions? It cost us £1m to get rid of Boca and Goian how much would it have cost to pay off half the playing squad?

King want's to buy cheap, coming out and saying Rangers are in good financial shape doesn't help him do that.

Dave Kings maths don't add up, probably the same calculator he uses when working out his tax in South Africa. BS says we have over £10m in the bank right this second with more ST money to come, Puma strip money to come and match day revenues. If King is right then Rangers are losing over £2.5m a month. I like King and he's willing to put his money where his mouth is but you can't just say "I believe Rangers will run out of money" and not have anything to back it up.

He's already made a profit as he bought the shares on the cheap. I'd be giving him the benefit of the doubt too if he weren't in the rhebel spouting off smearing Rangers execs. First question should be who did he buy the 785,000 shares off in the first place? Thats a lot of shares so must have been from someone with a substancial shareholding already. If he were to sell his shares now for the trading price he'd make about £31,000 profit. Not bad for a few days work not to mention all the free publicity he's been getting. Tapes aren't the best quality but they flow with the conversation. There are a couple of long-ish silences but nothing untoward that I see. I don't think they are edited because if the people releasing them were going to do that they'd have edited something really damaging.

This thread puzzles me as very few commenting seem to have listened to the tapes. If you listen you'll see that Green was NOT in cahoots with Craig Whyte but rather putting up the money and doing the deal. They talk about Miller pulling out and someone saying to Green get preffered bidder status to which his reply is fuck that I want exclusive bidder status. Green talks about wanting Souness as Director of Football so he has a buffer between him and McCoist. Brian Kennedy and TBK are refferenced as not having the money and Kennedy having a 'dodgy offshore' and that Deloitte wouldn't deal with him. This is the recording that the infamous "you are sevco" quote was pulled from that the papers fucked us with. Yet here's the full hour recording showing that quote is completely out of context and no cunts interested.

Alex Rae is talking a right lot of pish. We walked this league despite the turgid performances so just how much more money did Ally want to spend? How would we be feeling right now if we'd spent another £1-2m this year? Ally's sat week in week out peddling the same excuses but we've probably the most expensive team ever to win the 3rd Div. There are all sorts of dirty tricks going on behinds the scenes at Ibrox these days. The media will report "sacked" because it suits them but in reality it will be "we reached a mutual agreement that he wouldn't turn up for work anymore".

I'd settle for a team that just competitive full stop. If we're looking for a team who have a chance of just walking in and competing for the top league then we should be saving our cash for the 1st or 2nd transfer window of season 2014-2015 and getting a team to gel while playing the 1st. Guys being touted like Daly, Miller, Boyd etc are not going to be SPL winners quality in 2 seasons. I don't know what the level of football is like in the 2nd div in terms of what step up is it, but I think we'll struggle the same as we did this season and basically win ugly. If that's the case I can't see Ally being the manager for the 1st division.

To be honest 10 million over the next 2 seasons would probably be cheap compared to what Ally would want to spend. I think we're spending a shocking amount of money to win part-time leagues.
