  1. I'm not so sure it would. Goldson brought his hands up to protect his face and he didn't make his body any bigger. So think even with VAR that one would not have been given as a pen.
  2. I 100% agree we've regressed massively. I guess it depends on whether you think he deserves a chance to sort it. For me, the pressure is now on him but I think the European run, Scottish Cup and CL qualification has earned him more time than some fans seem to be willing to give him. The next few weeks will be telling.
  3. It's worrying yes and Gio should take responsibility but asking for a manager to be sacked on the basis of 2 results is nuts in my opinion.
  4. It would mean in principle that all clubs would have to hit 75% of games played. Which begs the question again why haven't teams been playing their games in hand when they should have been.
  5. No but we would need to win our last game and would also be looking for a result in the other match.
  6. You could also include 500k in for Waghorn as well so that's another half a million.
  7. "God Save the Queen" isn't to do with independence, but whether the country is Royalist or Republican. Apparently SNP would retain the Queen as head of state in the event of independence. On the other hand I think the campaigning to move to a Republic would begin as soon as independence was achieved (which it won't as far as I'm concerned). Saying that we shouldn't be having to listen to this type of campaigning for independence anyway. The country clearly voted no and this was meant to be a once in a generation thing. The people's choice should be respected. I don't want to have to go through another 2 years of listening to their shite again in the build up to anot her ref. Lastly, can you believe in independence and support Rangers? In my opinion yes. At the end of the day it's all about loving the club first and foremost. However, Rangers fans that do this have to realise that they are promoting a viewpoint that will ultimately affect both our society and our football club for the worse. We have seen exactly how we are treated by certain groups within Scotland. These people will have more power within an independent Scotland. So for me independence is something that is completely at odds with protecting the future of our club.
  8. Not what I heard mate. He made a choice between 3 English clubs and us. The English clubs included Villa and Everton I think. It was in the documentary on Channel 4 called Waiting for Gascoigne. Follows the season from him deciding to go to us right through to winning the title. I think it was only ever released on VHS around that time.
  9. Embarrassment? Not for me. 3 away games in the league including Aberdeen and the piggery as well as 8 qualifiers with 4 long distance trips. And with a team that have barely had a chance to play together. 1 poor defensive performance and 1 poor performance out of 13 competitive matches is what we've had. This team ARE capable of being a success. Our manager will learn, our players will learn and our team will get better. We now dust ourselves down, and start getting the league wins under our belt (which we will do). We all need to be behind this. I'm with them all the way.
  10. In 2nd half I would have went 4-5-1 and pushed Tav forward, Flanagan to right back and dropped a striker into midfield. With a 5 midfield we wouldnt have ended up sitting so deep and inviting Motherwell on. But it's easy saying that with hindsight.
  11. Thr criticism of Halliday was way over the top. He deserves a chance under new management, with better quality players around him and in a team that is performing better. If he keeps doing what he's done this season so far for us, then he will be an important part of the squad.
  12. I type Rangers into Google all the time. Ive spoken to some fans who use specific news sites but if you want the largest coverage of news regarding Rangers you should type Rangers into Google and then select news as it captures more or less everything.
  13. Pretty much spot on except for Docherty who has not had a real chance to show. Edit: Jack as well. I reckon Fod will probably leave and reckon we would get an ok transfer fee as well. If he stays then Alnwick will proably be loaned out. As for Dodoo, I wish him all the best. Hopefully he does well.
  14. Spot on. It's clearly designed to make it look like it is some sort of reaction to our earlier decision. But that decision was nothing to do with the cup, it was about selling more season tickets.
  15. If your talking about great perfomances by players at Ibrox then of course there is Mendieta, Riquelme, Benzema but none of them would have been applauded individually during those matches. Matthaus got some applause (and boos) due to him being subbed. Lampard got applause not just for who he was but because it was also a friendly. Andrews got the applause when he was warming up on the sidelines.
  16. I clapped Matthaus when he was subbed off for Bayern Munich. There was quite a few clapping but there was a lot of boos as well. The best reception an opposition player ever got at Ibrox was Lampard.
  17. Rangers done more for him? Club Captain 5 League Titles 5 League Cups 5 Scottish Cups 2 Trebles 1 European Final Over 400 Appearances Easily the greatest Rangers player of the last 20 years.
  18. He has close to a million followers. Millions more can see this stuff through retweets. He's slandering the club and attempting to turn others against us while it can also damage the club's brand. You can't just ignore that. The club 100% need to deal with this.
  19. Unfortunately players were looking after themselves. This could also be true of those that stayed as well as they had contracts with decent wages and perhaps knew they would not get a better contract elsewhere easily. They will all have their own stories and some will deserve the resentment more than others. 2 of the players went public at the time and it was disgraceful. I reckon more fans were vocally against Miller re-signing the first time than they are of McGregor now. But Walter Smith went ahead with the Miller signing anyway. I don't see re-signing former players that made mistakes as a 'standards' issue as long as they are being signed for the right reason and that is that they will help get this club back to the top. I think if he's the best signing we could make then we had to make it. Whatever is needed to win our next title trumps any grudges held against former players.
  20. It's not just similar. 10 out of the 11 that started for them on Sunday were signed by Delia. The league was a certainty anyway due to lack of competition and the size of their squad. In the cups they did not do well and many of the players were probably considered shite. Basically my point is the right manager can turn a player around. A players form does not necessarily show his ability. Many of these players will have to go but there not all shite.
  21. He's right. I hate to say this but the team that beat us on Sunday was more or less Deila's team and most of them were written off before they got Rodgers in. Just because a player is not playing well doesn't mean he's shite and just because the team is playing shite doesn't mean they are all shite.
  22. I agree with this but our fans would never go with a 3 year project. The club also cannot afford to attempt a project over that length of time only to see it fail. The only type of manager we should be aiming for is the one that will bring instant success.
  23. Win ratios for Murty 1st spell (6 matches) = 50% 2nd spell (2017 1st 12 matches) = 58% 3rd spell (2018 2nd 12 matches) = 75% No denying there has been major improvement. We've lost 3 in 2018. 2 of them I don't think we deserved to lose but did. The Killie game we did deserved to lose but I think on that occasion the players let Murty down. Im not saying he shouldnt take his share of the blame for the home form but unless we are unable to regain our form in the next few matches Murty should remain in charge until the season ends. We should then reassess.
  24. Think his article is more or less correct on this occasion. First time we've played them in years where I felt before kick off that we should be winning the match. I felt that we done enough during the match to beat them. And in hindsight I am absolutely raging we didn't win it. Murty seems to have the team going 'toe to toe' with them now which I see as a big difference. The competitive edge is there and the games can go either way in the way they used to. For me Murty deserves a lot of the credit for bringing the team up a level. We still need to improve but who is to say we won't. He's got to the end of the season so that would be the best time to decide on whether he should stay or whether we should we get someone else in. A lot of people have made their minds up which I think is a bit unfair as there is still a lot to play for.
  25. I'd say yes we are definitely closer to challenging them. We havn't closed the gap yet but it's definitely reduced in my opinion. I expect us to win every game we now play. Thats the way it should be at this club and it shows clear progress from last year. You use the term "big strides" but it sounds very similar to progress. I'm still gutted about the score yesterday but don't think it' delusional to recognise we have moved forward.
