Sweetheart got a reaction from Drunk and disorderly. in Defoe retires
Best wishes for his retirement, he's had a brilliant career. I love the bit in his statement where he thanks his mum.
It will probably not be the last we hear from him as he does a lot of good through his charity, helping children.

Sweetheart got a reaction from Negri's lovechild in Club Statement
I don't think the board will eat humble pie. I don't see them pulling out of this business deal, even if King has offered to pay the costs of setting up these games, because cfc could sue for the income it would have lost from these games.
I do see King forcing a regime change and as majority shareholder he could put forward his own people for the job, which would be a clever move for him, as he could rescue his shares from being devalued even more and get the price he wants when selling them.
I do think priority should be on the team and address these issues in a dossier one month before the AGM when board members will want shareholders votes.

Dave is a very clever man. Much smarter than Robertson etc.
No easy way for the board to pull out of Australia now. They either accept Kings money or they cover the cost themselves. If the board dig their heels in and go ahead with the friendly then I can see Dave forcing a regime change via an EGM.
Best if some humble pie is eaten and Australia cancelled then we can all move on.

He wants anyone to buy his shares, preferably fans who will piss off the current board. But the board keep issuing more shares which further dilutes his holding, pissing him off even more.
This board put their hands in their pockets but it ain't for nothing.

I don't think they will take King's offer. King isn't just handing over money to cover the costs. He'll have conditions/demands. That's just business.
If they don't accept the offer. The board either stay on course and have the friendly despite huge backlash against it. Or they pull out on their own and try and spin it that they listened to fan feedback.

Think it's maybe time the fans realised these people are just business men and stop treating them like heroes.

Sweetheart reacted to McEwan's Lager in Club Statement
Not as simple as that.
King's played a blinder here on his part because he knows on one hand it tugs on the strings of supporters but he also knows that the board have the commercial reputation of the club at stake with their decision. The club as a business can't continue to sign contracts and agreements like this, Sports Direct, Elite/Hummel etc then not perform.

All the blue pound chasers and ego expanders are coming out the woodwork now. Everyone on both sides are only out for themselves.
Sick of them ‘speaking for the fans’ or ‘on behalf of the club’. Shut the fuck up, deal with this in private and focus on 56, the Scottish cup and the Europa league.

I’m hoping the fans who have issues with the board can keep it under wraps until this league is won. I’m not saying it’s not warranted or relevant but now is not the right time imo.

People need to wind their necks in we have a league title to win. I understand the protests over the friendly but let’s sort it out when the season finishes. Cool heads need to prevail here.

I said on another thread yesterday this is just the beginning. It’s going to get worse imo.

King claiming he will pay the costs of withdrawing from the tournament via Chris Jack.
The board response to this will be blockbuster I think.

Love him or hate him, but I doubt this situation would have arisen if King was still on the board.
