  1. KENNY McDOWALL admits part of him is delighted that Ally McCoist is now away from Rangers – for the sake of his old gaffer’s sanity.

McCoist was able to enjoy a beer yesterday as he took in Glasgow’s rugby clash with Edinburgh after McDowall crashed 4-0 at Hibs in his debut as boss.

The Ibrox caretaker last week revealed how gutted he was to see his friend put on gardening leave by the board. But after three years of unprecedented turmoil, McDowall is relieved McCoist is now free from the stress and strain of the Ibrox hot-seat.

The new Rangers boss said: “As a friend, I’m glad to see him out of the firing line. For his sanity and for his family.

Myself, Ian Durrant and Jim Stewart have been there every step of the way with Ally.

“We’ve been with him at times when we’ve had to try to keep him upbeat. But he was trying to keep everyone else upbeat.

“For that alone, he’s a star. He’s keen to get back into football but deserves a break now.”

McCoist was criticised for his side’s failure to live up to their tag of Scotland’s second highest-paid squad.

But McDowall said: “Money doesn’t come into it when you play. No player goes on to a pitch to have a bad game.

“It’s 11 v 11 – and whoever wants it most will get it.”

The new Gers caretaker Manager reveals he is glad Ally has stepped to keep some of sanity. McDowell also states McCoist deserves a well earned break but is looking to get back into management in the near future)

What the guy has gone through and endured has been unbelievable.

“His concern was for people at the club rather than himself. It’s astonishing what he had to deal with. Only people on the inside know what he has done.

“It has been a nightmare here for three years. People on the outside are bored with it now. But we’ve had to eat, sleep and drink it.

  2. Most of the names being suggested on here are either ex players or Managers we know support us/family links. Some of us want to get away from this because of what's happened with Ally.

If we bring in a Manager who is not a Rangers man will this work? I have my doubts because what manager wants to work at a club where the board and fans are in different directions? Imagine interviewing foreign coaches for the job and trying to explain what has happened in the past 3-4 years? Most would run a mile.

I think for the time being we need a Rangers man to build us back up a level where are competing in the spl then we look at other ideas. Would have been good to do this in Division 3 but thats now in the past.

  3. I don't think we'll beat them but I very much doubt it will be a rout as some are saying.

Make no mistake Celtic are not a great team

Neither are Hibs. Before yesterday they had only won 3 games at home- against the botton 3 teams in the league. That is their best scoreline in a couple of years. If we play like that and concede early in the semi final then we will get pumped by at least 5 or 6. They will sense blood and just try and destroy us. If we concede early on I think ill be switching off. Best we can hope for is a Fiorentina defensive performance and win on pens.

  4. Kennys struggled today. Tactics were poor and defence was missing.

I would seriously consider bringing Ally off garden leave to run it till the Summer IF the board are 100% not getting a new manager in before then.

We are paying Ally so bring him back. I thought it couldnt get worse but it did today.

  5. He is fucking hopeless big flapping prick

We had craig Gordon in our hands and mccoist managed to fuck that up as well

Can't believe that fat fuck is sitting on his arse getting 750,000

No way he should even be allowed back into ibrox

Legend status well and truly gone fat boy

After a few breathes do you still feel that? Bit harsh
