The Founders plaque at Fleshers Haugh was unveiled on the 6th September 2009.
The image we were keen to portray was the boys stepping from the river and on to the football field with a ball for the first time.
We went with that idea to sculptor Andy Scott who kindly etched the idea on to paper for us. Andy previous work was the John Greig Statue outside Ibrox Stadium, Mr.Struth’s bust within the Stadium. More recently The Kelpies at Falkirk.
This then let us go to a local plaque manufacturer for a costing, we then put out an appeal for the necessary funds to the worldwide Rangers support, the cost was met within days.
On Sunday 6th September 2009 the Founders plaque was unveiled by Heather Lang, the Grand-daughter of our Founder Peter McNeil. We were also honoured to have with us on the day the late great Sandy Jardine.
The football centre at Fleshers Haugh is used by kids almost every day of the week, if the Founders plaque acts as  inspiration to even just one then it’s job done because essentially that’s what it was, a group of kids on a bit of spare ground formed  their own football team, their boys club went on to become the world’s most successful.
The Plaque inscription reads:
In the spring of 1872 four young boys, Moses McNeil, Peter McNeil, Peter Campbell and William McBeath left their rowing boat on the nearby River Clyde and upon these fields formed a football team.
That team was to become Rangers Football Club.
It was their determination to succeed that led to Rangers becoming one of the world’s most famous clubs.

Locking this thread for now. A few things first, GB, you do a grand job with the Erskine appeal but if you could do less spamming on other threads please as it is annoying at times and can lead to stuff like what's happened in this thread. 
As for no Admin when you need one, we all have jobs and none of us get paid for Admin and moderator duties. I saw this when on lunch at work and dealt with it right away.

To a lot of people it's important that the subject is kept front and centre as the point remains, children were seriously harmed and people are trying to bury the offences  so that people get away with serious offences and victims don't get justice or closure.  The fact it's in the BD meant people, including non-members, could see it.  For that point alone, I thought the decision to leave it on the BD was the right one for the right reasons.   Just a shame others couldn't respect that and set out to derail the thread by any means possible.  As I said on that thread, I really do question the motives.
Anyway, I'm not here to derail another thread, just saying my piece as its been mentioned on this post.  I've too much respect for what people like @govanblue do for charity to do that, even if I think his tactic was deplorable and misguided.  I'll leave it at that and I won't be adding any more to this thread.

Last Friday night we had the pleasure of presenting the Founders Story at Halfway Bowling  Club for the Halfway True Blues RSC and friends.
At the end of the evening we were presented with the wonderful amount of £235 which was the proceeds from the raffle which was held.
We'd like to thank the organizers for a cracking night and everyone who attended for their generosity as this will help to ensure that our restoration work continues over the coming months.
