so cake and eat it EC.
sorry mate can't see me and you ever agreeing on anything I will try my damndest to ignore your posts from now on I see you as a troll and unfortunately on more than one occasion i have bitten.
You don't have an answer so you resort to name calling. Yeah, i am the troll.
-
No other 'similar sized' club signed their sponsorship deal as long ago as Arsenal did. At least not the ones in that link.
So.
-
You should be called Paracetamol, because you've barely talked any of it, you always go against the grain, regardless of the debate, your as transparent as glass,
I like Burley, i respect his honesty, i doubt i am alone.
-
eh? have you missed the last 10 months?
On the contrary i think a few of you have.
-
Myth????
What I'm seeing every week is 16,17 and 18 year olds playing for us(at my age,I refer to them as kids)
And,the chosen method of stopping us is,on the whole, brutal e.g. Templeton's weekly treatment.
Then stop going to see the youth team, come to Ibrox and see the first team, we have many seasoned professionals showcasing their talents.
Rangers players have always been targets, that is nothing new.
-
anyway you want. whyte cheating us. the spl and sfa cheating trying to bribe the sfl. listenung to fans when they have never done it before. trying to bribe us... etfuckingcetera
You said we were "cheated out of higher level football" In what way? The above answers nothing. You don't think we deserved punished?
-
What myth? Have you been following Rangers with your eyes closed this season?
The myth that Allys first choice 11 is full of kids. It really isn't.
-
Its not a particularly fantastic deal. Arsenal have said as much themselves. There aren't many other 'big guns' who have sold the naming rights to their stadium. Infact I cant really think of ANYONE else outside Germany that would be considered a 'big gun' that have sold their rights. So it brings me back to my original point. '£4m isn't a lot for a club their size' based on?
I was talking about the £5.5m for shirt sponsorship when other similar sized clubs have at least double that.
-
so when we don't win a match do you not criticise? clearly it does not mean anything to you.
I am always critical, even when we win. We must never stand still or think our work is done.
-
we nearly folded we were cheated out of higher level football and cheated out of millions in transfer fees. we have a team with a fair few young raw talents. fucking right we'll celebrate it.
In what way?
-
Given the financial gulf between Celtic and the rest, Scottish football will never again be competitive. Even when or if we get back in the top league, we are going to struggle to catch them as well.
-
I celebrate every tick in the win column.
And,after being forced to lose enough players to field 2 teams thus having to play babies against hammer-throwers,I will, most certainly enjoy a few shandies at the party that signals the start of our march back to our rightful position.
Still going with this myth are we?
-
The £100m is a combined deal so where they got the £5.5m figure from I'n not exactly sure.
It doesn't leave much for naming rights, maybe the deal was not as good as Arsenal thought, certainly not when you see what the other big guns rake in through sponsorship.
-
You may be right, however at this stage it is unclear. No need to speculate though really, the truth of the matter will soon become apparent.
It's very clear if you stick with that list mate. Your campaign will be over before it has begun.
-
I agree. Burley is not always right (far from it) but at least he ha an opinion that's his own and he doesn't appear to me to be driven by any agendas.
Exactly.
-
Based on? Is there a formula which determines how much clubs should earn from naming rights relative to their 'size'?
Arsenal received £100m over 15 years for the naming rights and shirt sponsorship so it looks like its about right 'for a club their size'. It does mean that, if this is true, then we are punching above our weight in terms of what receive from the rights to Ibrox.
Possibly mate. Could Hearts and Tynecastle command the same fee as Barcelona and the Camp Nou? Obviously not.
Arsenal get *£5.5m per season for shirt sponsorship, that would only leave just over £1m for stadium naming rights if £100m over 15 years is correct, no?

Are people actually going to celebrate winning the countries most minor honour?
-
Bayern Munich earn £4m p/a for the naming rights to the Allianz Arena.
Not much for a club their size.
-
That committee list will never be taken seriously Vini by anyone who matters, sorry mate.

Pat Nevin is a self confessed Celtic fan, the fact he likes Hibs as well confirms he is just a bigot. John Robertson is a Hibee but a Hearts legend.

You're not a Rangers fan because you lace every single post you make with malice towards Rangers fans.
You're not a Rangers fan because you have repeatedly insulted different groups of fans, just in this thread, in this thread.
You're not a Rangers fan, because in two years on this site, no one I am in contact with has ever heard you say a single positive thing about Rangers or Rangers fans.
You're not a Rangers fan because you feel the need to attack and insult Rangers fans who are trying to do something good.
You're not a Rangers fan because you ignore all the clear, salient points in Rangers fans' posts and just reply to ones you can attempt to spin - this is a typical tactic of the great unwashed.
You are not a Rangers fan because your default stance, response, tone, attitude, to Rangers fans on this forum is to attack and insult.
You're not a Rangers fan because you are clearly out of touch with Rangers support, which tells us all that you haven't attended a game in a long time, if ever, and that you do not have many/any Rangers fans in your (probably very limited) circle of friends/family.
Most of all though, you're not a Rangers fan because the very idea that some form of our greatest chant might return has you biting, and snarling, and frothing and foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog.

Charlie Mann is a long term contributor to BBC Radio Scotland's output, probably 25 years worth. He originates from Huntly and is an avid supporter of the Aberdeen. He is not a lonely Don at Pacific Quay, big Rheinhart Gordon, Liam McLeod, Jonathon Sutherland, Michael Grant, ......... etc are chorusing the Nothern Lights too. Charlie used to be a lot more senior but he took a 3 year sabatical as Hearts owner, Vladimir Romanov's Public Relations Officer. Jim Traynor was NOT the first BBC Scotland employee to take the poacher turned gamekeeper journey. Before his sabatical, Charlie regularly flashed his Dandy Don credentials by regularly sticking it on anything Rangers.
He returned to BBC Scotland a couple of years past and I have not heard any snide remarks or sniggering references to his time as Romanov's dolly. In fact, he was welcomed back into the fold with open arms despite not spilling the beans on Romanov(I suspect he signed an agreement to ensure no comment). Remember, Romanov has specifically refused to speak to BBC Scotland for a number of years, Charlie would have denied former colleagues access to information. Compare and contrast with the treatment being regularly reserved for Traynor, it would appear that Cosgrove, Spence, and English are determined to keep the hate warm with their constant sniping. We can only conclude that BBC Scotland's attitude to JT is personal and not principled. I am sure the Rangers factor in this equation would have helped swing it to the former.
Yesterday, post match; Charlie Mann had a wee rant about the size of the 45,000 attendance and their lack of engagement with game, particularly the subdued atmosphere in the second half. He arrived at the comfortable conclusion that 'defiance' was alone in motivating the Ibrox legions. Derek Ferguson interupted him and suggested the style of play might not be motivating the crowd, he enquired whether Barrie McKay had started? Charlie let the cat out the bag by initially answering, "who"? He recovered to begin shuffling his notes for his team sheet as Ferguson explained McKay and his contribution to Rangers. Charlie confidently interupted Derek with a firm, "no".
Honestly, Charlie Mann did not have clue on two counts during his 3-4 hours at Ibrox yesterday. Firstly, the subdued atmosphere was largely down to the tragic death of a fellow Bear during the match and it was blatently obvious he had never heard of Barrie McKay. Simply, Charlie did not want to be at the stadium and he did not engage with proceedings. This lack of awareness of all things Rangers at BBC Scotland will continue, recently on another forum(Gersnet) I listed over 30 names of those who regularly contributed to BBC Scotland's football output. There were several Yahoos, several Dandy Dons, a couple of Jambos, Hibees, Arabs, and another several Saintees, Raith Rovers, Motherwell, and Dumbarton supporters. Only two of the 30-odd could be considered Rangers men, one Billy Dodds is on record as, "no longer considering himself a Rangers supporter" and Derek Ferguson answers the question by continually hyping his beloved Accies.
BBC Scotland do not engage the Rangers support and have no intension of doing so anytime soon, Charlie Mann's woeful contribution yesterday proves the point.
The vhemrin call that "sitting at the back of the bus". I expect nothing else from the BBC, they are poison.

You dont really come across well on here son.
You have been here 5 minutes, give it time.
-
Does that extend to supporters too?
What do you mean mate? No supporter is greater than the club? We have a few on here who think they are.
Earliest date the league can be wrapped up?

Show class and dignity, in the grand scheme of things it is meaningless. By all means enjoy it but it is nothing compared to winning one of the big honours. Going by some peoples reactions on here i am expecting a Rugby Park type celebrations and parades at Ibrox. Let's get real here.
