I hope we have him for another year or 2 yet simply because he is a good player albeit he could do with taking more of his chances. He gets in loads of good positions and hits the keeper a lot. Other than that as he has notched 29 goals so far and will break 30 he’s a good forward, a constant thorn in a defenders side but as you say unfortunately he’s got a target on his back and what would normally be a foul on a different player is deemed fair on Morelos which is disgusting. he gets no treatment from refs, if and when he sometimes reacts to the constant fouling then it’s always “silly boy” or “petulance” “liability” etc from the experts. Morelos gets it from every single opposition player week in and week out and considering it’s been open season on Gers players since division 3 then he’s done well not to react more. Now would it be a blessing if he left because of the way rely on him?? No. We know what we are getting from the lad, any new signings might struggle with the hits and tackles, also I’d much rather a whole new midfield to take shots and be better creators than lose Morelos. This is where Gerrard should earn his corn and the board should do everything they can to spend big on players that will be the difference between drawing and winning.

Just imagine if we had quality finishers in the last game.. could’ve been 5 or 6 nil. Cant wait for the game next week- should be good. Expecting a draw but if we manage to be the 1st to win there this season it would end March perfectly

I think it was Simon Donnelly or tam McManus that condemned broadfoot for that disgusting behaviour. Compared to his pals actually blaming Morelos. Since we’ve been back in this hole of a league I’ve noticed broadfoot has been a real dirty player. Can’t believe we had that player on our books. on a side note- has anyone noticed the extra mile our ex players go to to win vs us? Rarely do you see ex tims do the same against them

For me it’s hard to be happy they got beat as although I was born in England I grew up watching Scotland with my family and it was good. You could relate to the team as it had a few Rangers players in it, but now because of the fact none of them are continually picked that attachment has gone. Losing 3-0 to that lot has to be as bad if not worse than is losing to progres last year. Eck was never the correct choice and I can’t understand why he was chosen.

I think SG should spend this full week trying a new formation but it’s probably too late and would it really have an effect on the terrible decision making of our supposedly creative players?? I highly doubt it. If as we’ve seen away at killie the players can’t really adapt then parkhead with a new formation would be warburtonesque.

I honestly think Brendan left them because they couldn’t back him enough. I know they signed the guy for alleged 9 million but what else did they spend? TLB signed loads of duds for that lot over his 4 years there- loads. Aslong as we get our signings correct and add quality then we might just take it next year

They only have champions league money if they qualify. Couldn’t manage it last summer and I seriously doubt they’ll be qualifying this year coming either. and in theory considering we qualified for the europa groups we should be spending double/ treble what we spent last summer.

At times it looks as though the club are just attempting to sign the best players from the competition. Whereas the tims will still sign better than us. it seems to be all we can afford tbh- to be better than everyone except celtic

Atleast the manager isn’t stubborn and recognised the need for more creative players. I’d be more worried if he came out and said he thinks the squad is fine etc. Going on about windass being a loss is quite laughable, if windass never hit the net then he was useless, Nicky laws cousin invisible man mk2. His attitude stank aswell. Well shot of him.

I think while King is controlling things then yes we’ll be the 2nd best team occasionally winning a cup or 2 but failing in the league.. I honestly will not be surprised if the taigs win the next 4-5 championships. 10 is a certainty for them given we’ve had 4 years of king and we’re still no closer to Winning the league. I seriously doubt we’ll fix it in another 2 years. celtic will downsize again as Europe has stopped them spending season on season but with the winning mentality they have in almost every player they will still be infront of us.

With most teams now playing 5 in midfield it would take serious quality for us to go with 2 upfront. We’d highly likely need a full new middle 4 as they’d have to quick with their brains and comfortable taking the ball under pressure. As far as I’m concerned Defoe can only play with another that does most of the hard/dirty work- abit like how Boyd could only play with Miller. I think Defoe will be gone in the summer and we’ll line up with different players but assume system

Well it doesn’t take much for opinion to change in a manager, especially in the confines of an online forum where the best coaches and managers seem to be not coaches and managers. In any case the loss count has went down dramatically compared to last season albeit there are a few games left. The humpings seem to have disappeared aswell, along with massive progress in Europe compared from the season before. league wise we are in a better healthier position than last year, Aberdeen may have got worse but it was always going to happen and I’d still be confident of this Rangers team finishing above last years sheep who finished 1 win infront of us whilst we finished level with hibs. So while we’re all disappointed in not winning a cup we can easily say overall there has been improvement. The only most baffling point I don’t understand is why a captain like Gerrard who could drag his team to finals and win them appointed tavernier captain when to me he’s the total opposite of Gerrard.

This Gerrards 1st job.. Hopefully he can be allowed to remedy our short comings by August. He said it himself. 1-2 gifted players required with 1-2 marquee type signings

Good number 10 types cost more than our budget will be. Be more hit n miss signings aslong as king etc are in control

Looking at transfer fees across the board you’d have to say a team worth 10 million isn’t going to be much of any better than a team worth 3-4 million. And granted we’ll always pay more for players than the rest except celtic do just because teams know we have it.. it’s upto the scouts etc to be more diligent and also upto the board and mark allen to actually tell us the clubs ambitions and expectations over the next season or 2.

Took me a while to realise it right enough. If badges or institutions played the game then we’d be victorious 99/100. All added in with a manager learning his way regardless of his player career.

Rangers as a club should deal with these sides 9/10 but we’re all signing average players now. It’s easy for a candeias to raise his game vs the Mann’s but when the others raise their games vs us which is quite obvious, we lack the better players to still be a class above. We simply pay our average players more than Aberdeen pay theirs.

The best thing Gerrard can do is make a mini league table in the dressing room and have us finish top of it between now and the seasons end..see where it takes us cos if the players can’t win a pretend league then they have no chance whatsoever of ever winning a league

I wonder if this team with a lack of creativity under Walter would’ve lined up the same way?? id think he would’ve lined up 4-5-1 and had us make Aberdeen come out more then swiftly play on the counter just like we did under his 1st 18 months back. Knew we weren’t creative enough so never tried to play that way. we could’ve easily had Morelos uptop with a sitting 3 of mcrorie,jack and Kamara with Kent on the left and arfield with his energy played on the right. I’m just at a loss as the manager keeps playing the same players in the same system despite admitting they let him down in games and don’t follow the instructions.

We looked like we were making progress but as per run of the mill players they revert to type. Good players do it week in and out. Aside from Morelos we have no one to look towards as a match winner and there’s even a few times where Morelos looks disinterested. not enough winners not enough players wanting to make things happen. We look good against teams that make mistakes however when there’s none being made we don’t have the class to win games. Partly gerrards fault due to his signings but also spending 9 million on a full squad will always leave us well behind celtic and just infront of the rest over a season with tightly contested games between us and the chasing pack leaving celtic to stroll to title after title.

We are dreadful and panickey with the ball. No calmness and that’s why we give the ball away far too much. Lack of composure. fwiw I do t think mcinnes rejected us because of lack of ambition or whatever rumours folks make up. I think he realised for the budget we had/have he could never be regarded as a successful Rangers manager. When your main rival is buying from a different pool of players then there’s no chance. Whereas half our squad wouldn’t look out of place in the Aberdeen team actually. I’d have McKenna over any of our cb’s based on what I’ve seen over the 6 games- even have Lewis Ferguson over Ryan Kent and candeias, cosgrove over lafferty. Were just not very good

Any board that backs these players over the manager are not fit for purpose. Granted Gerrard has had his mistakes but to back serial losers like tavernier and candeias for me would show absolute disregard for winning anything.
